My 2014 750 shadow aero + HONDA recommended fuel = "HONDA engines are designed to deliver optimal performance with REGULAR GASOLINE "
If possible, please fill with the fuel with the octane rating that Honda recommends in the owner's manual. Driving at extremely high octane levels can also cause your vehicle to lose performance because the ignition on the engine is set for the octane rating of the fuel in the owner's manual and not the premium fuel. Your motorcycle is not a Porsche or Nascar, which needs the high octane rating. 20 years ago a motorcycle magazine tested a Suzuki Hayabusa. First you drove the fuel grade that Suzuki recommended and then the premium fuel with the highest octane rating. The Suzuki had lost performance on the premium fuel. Why is that? Extremely high octane fuel is less ignitable because of the high knock resistance, which means that the ignition system and the spark plugs have more work to do. You then have the opposite effect, because as a consumer you think that only the best is good enough for the motorcycle. It's just a recommendation from me. I wish you a safe journey.
I picked up a 2012 Aero 750 last year and it's the first bike I've ridden in probably 30 years...and back then it was all dirt bikes...lol. I'm in about the same boat as you. Been riding it for a year, thinking I'd like to go bigger...but then I do something kind of dumb that scares me and I realize I'm still okay with this for awhile more. Great bike for running around.
Well, only thing gotta say is, you did a good job! Have fun out there, and stay safe!
Neat. Im an older rider, two years on the bike and 30 years behind a wheel. Here in NZ we have to pass a basic handling test, which doesnt really seem anywhere near as comprehensive as the Motorcycle Safety course you all in the US have to pass, but then we still have to pass a written test to get a Lerners permit which lets you ride just about any 250cc -650cc (except banned bikes which are too powerful) for about a year, then you can sit a Restricted practical test, or a Competence Based Training Assesment to get a restricted licence. The bikes we can ride are still reserved to the LAMS category, but we can loose the L plate 8) Then you have to wait 6-12 months before you can sit a Full licence practical test or CBTA, then the world is your motorcycling oyster. Ive got about three more months on my restricted before I can go for that, but my learner cruiser is a Yamaha vStar 650, and to be honest, like your Shadow, will probably last me a while yet before Im bored of it. But I do Love me an Indian Scout..... maybe next upgrade in a couple of years. I try to ride every day, and my poor Mazda RX-8 hardly gets driven anymore.
I have watched a couple of your videos and liked them. I like the Honda Shadow 750. When I was in HS a 750 was a big and powerful Bike. Now they’re considered a beginner bike by many. I’m coming back to riding at 60 and I think this more than fits the bill. I would ride and own one in a heartbeat.
Great video Sir.
What is the circular little black and orange bit on your right handle bar ?
AAAhhh heck....sell it to me
Nice Aero, bro
Looking for a metric to ride. Thanks for your input for helping me know what to look for. I just love your
Nice vid keep’em coming
Nice bike. I have a 07 shadow aero. I'm a noob, I have been riding since April 2022. I believe we live in the same area we should go riding together sometime
I took the MSF class at the local Harley Davidson dealer.
I know ... why is non-eth so expensive? Could it be exploitation or extortion 'cause the alternative is shit?
