    Chuck this Is the video that motivated me to buy a Beeman R7 for short Range Rat Control. My max range Is 20 yards but I'm confident I could stretch It to 30 yards but my fence line where the Rats hang out Is no more than 20 yards. You're spot on, It's uber accurate so precise shot placement Is very effortless! Thanks So Much!

    My .20 cal R7 kills literally hundreds of starlings and house sparrows every spring and summer off my suet cages. Have a half sack full hanging on my fence now. Its so accurate with FTTs I shoot head/neck and rarely get fly offs. In the fall head shots on squirrels eating my pears and apples.
    I grew up with blue streaks and 1400 crosmans, and learned 5 pumps or 525fps was more than adequate out to 25yds. Pretty much the velocity I get from my .20 cal 12gr FTTs.

      Super cool 😃👍. I really hate those starlings and black birds. I put out a suet block for woodpeckers, and the starlings and black birds had it gone in about a day. I got a few of them thieves, but most of the time they fly away soon as I touch the doorknob. Ps they make good catfish bait, lol.

    I can say that the HW 30 S in all calibers, is the best air-rifle in the world ! I`ve owned many, many of the Weihrauch rifles. The 50S, the 57, the HW80, 90 and 95, and many other brands like BSA, Hatsan, Diana, Norica, Cometa and a hundreds moore, but in the end of the day it is the 30 s that has it all ! Its lightweight, its short and quiet, but still it delivers superb precision with a punch to take out smaller games . . and it do it with no recoil at all ! It is a Marvel !

    Yes, I've taken short range smaller vermin using the HW30S in both calibres. It's ideal for the back yard where you don't want to risk higher power over penetration.

    thanks . there are additional ways to tune hw trigger , see online. my limited pest control experience with the R7/HW30 some years back was ok if small birds say starling control at out to 25 yards but everything else just not enough energy on target. Great little springer though. need a challenge ? try the hw45 pistol !!! very hard to be accurate with but possible...

    Weihrauch’s are in my view the best springers on the market, I own two hw 95 k’s one in 22 and one in 177 along with the Hw 97 in blue laminate in 22 and the 99s in 22 and all are proven bunny bashers. Just discovered and subscribed to your channel and liking what you do!! I have a hw95 in the UK, it's in .22, got a tbt kit inside including short stroke piston extension. It runs just under 12ftlbs and quite nice but still possibly a bit more hold sensitive than my hw99 was (that I sold)....can't help but wondering would cutting a few coils off the spring make it more like a 30 to shoot? To the extreme, if it was chopped to run at same power as hw30s, would it be as nice a gun do you think?? Thanks

    • @springpistonriflefeverlone9611
      @springpistonriflefeverlone9611  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much for your subscription and great comments 🙂👍. In the beginning my 95 shot very accurately, but then accuracy fell off. I didn't know what the deal was, so eventually I stripped it down and found some broken coils at the top of the main spring. I heated it up the spring, bent it flat, sanded it down and smooth it out, put it back in the rifle and got better performance than before. Now instead of a high 17 FPE springer, it was a high 15 FPE to low 16 FPE springer. The shot cycle was smoothed out, accuracy improved and now this is my number one hunting rifle.
      I think you can smooth out your rifle even more, by having a lighter spring or snipping coils. It has such a big compression chamber, that I don't think reducing it down to 5 FPE is going to happen like the HW30s. The HW30s is in a class all by itself, smaller, easier to handle and just very fun to shoot 🙂👍.

      @stevo1166 Рік тому +2

      @@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 thanks for your reply, I may experiment with a spare spring, keep the current one as is. Probably wouldn't really want to run much lower that 10fpe, it's probably also just me needing to get better with practice. My other 2 airguns are pcp so a lot easier to shoot tight groups and inspire the confidence to shoot the rats and rabbits etc. 👍

      The Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum 10.5 were getting 6.5 FPE and the Crosman Premier Hollow Point 7.9 were getting 7.5 FPE. I'm not sure how far out I can shoot for target practice because conditions are mostly horrible right now in the winter time. For a cottontail rabbit, I would keep it 20 yards and under, brain shots only.
      I am not sure about fox squirrels, that's what we have around here and they have a different type of build 💪. Back in the day, I killed several fox squirrels with my Daisy 880, which is in the same power range as the HW30s. I remember aiming for the neck on those squirrels when I was a kid. I hear much about headshots and shots to the vitals but not much on shooting at the neck, but every time I have shot a squirrel in the neck it dropped like a brick, lol.

      I used to take squirrels with my Daisy 880 when I was a kid. This HW30s is the same power range, they were not far shots. Travis of Oh Shoot hunted squirrels 🐿️ with his Daisy 880 and the HW30s would be even better because of the high quality trigger, accuracy on target, enough energy kill power. I'm not talking about long-range hunting, 20 yards and under. I guess there's enough people disagreeing with me, so I'm going to have to go out and hunt with this rifle, lol.

      Did you see how this HW30s zipped right through this can? If it can easily go through a tin can that is my test for small game. There are some air rifles that have a very hard time to punch a hole through a tin can, several of the Crosman's, a pump rifle and pistol, can't remember their exact name right now but they fall under American Classic.

      @@LowkeyAirgunner Most likely my HW95 Luxus 22 would come out with me. It shoots at 16FPE and I can make long shots, out to 50 yards. Most likely I wouldn't shoot at 50 yards unless they were getting spooked away but I like to have more than enough energy to have confidence to have good kill shots at 30 plus yards. If somebody was to hunt with a low powered rifle like the HW30s or a Daisy 880 all shots would have to be nice and close. I think it would work very well in a situation where the game was holding nice and tight to cover and not budging.

It is very interesting that the price point comes out very close to the same, which makes me wonder if some of that shipping cost gets pocketed or turned in for taxes. No matter what, for 60 dollars shipped all the way across the ocean and halfway across the United States is a very good deal.

On top of that 333 dollars there is another percentage of customs costs (max.17 %) and on top of this total amount another 21 % VAT. Do you now understand that I would like to fly back and forth in a time machine sometimes? It is strange that Gamo and Diana cost almost the same or slightly less with you, but that Umarex (German brand) is considerably more expensive with us.
