Shooting spring piston rifles is an art and a skill that I love.
If you could not tell, I have a passion for spring piston air rifles.
learning how they need to be held, what pellet to use, how much to hold over or under and guessing the wind all plays a big part of enjoying this fabulous sport.
I'm also into natural strength training for the genetically average strength trainer, and Bible related topics.
I grew up shooting the Daisy 880, progressed further into 22 rimfires and was a rifle instructor in the United States Marine Corps.
Strength training has mostly been done through experimentation and reading. Bible background is based on that man is lost in their sins and is in desperate need of salvation through our savior Jesus Christ.

Very nice. This year is my year of biting the weihrauch bullet I think... now I just have decide which one. 😅
Build to last a lifetime. Mine is from 1968 and still shoots spot on, i'm also from 1968! 😁 Greetings from the Netherlands and God bless!

@@JohnVentarino-ey5ln I'm not sure yet, but it's a 11-12 FPE springer.🎯
Get over to tinbum tuning on here and nick will show you how to make a fantastic rifle epic. You're welcome
Reminds me of a HW30 but scalled up a bit.
@@kevanhubbard9673 It reminds me of a short HW80 with a barrel latch.🎯😃👍
Chuck had my 99 in bits today. Over a year old so greased and polished etc. I have found no signs of scrap scratches or wear after 4000 pellets. Iv seen some negative reports. Mine had the light oil in as from new. Now bisley molybdenum. Just polished front and back of piston. Keep shooting…
I sure looked at these for a long time. Very nice rifles with a long history. It's a larger piston with a short stroke or shot cycle. Some say it's less hold sensitive combined with the weight. Some complain about the shot cycle. Will be waiting to see shooting video and what you think after shooting it a while.
Lovely gun! I grew up in the 1970's with a 'standard' version that had the rounded pistol grip. Loved that gun so when I had the chance to recently purchase a 22 inch barrel Export version from the same era as mine, I jumped at it! I have the rare but not as beautiful 'Thumbhole' or Lochschaft version. A very interesting and comfortable stock but the Export was always the dream. I like what they've done with the new stock looks great! ...and I believe you are one of the few who pronounce Weihrauch correctly. Great video as always!! Love the channel! Greetings from Spain!
@@simonspain6080 Hi Simon from Spain!🙋🤠👍 It would be sweet if we airgunners could have an airgun convention or reunion. 🎯🙋👍
Very nice rifle. Plans to mount a scope or keep it open sights?
Hi, I've got an old hw 50 that still has the leather piston seal, and I had to replace the breech seal because the old one was rotten. I put an original weihrauch spring in there, and it only does around 9 joules, even though the first shot was 15. Do you have any idea how to fix it?
Thats a sweet looking rifle! I love the checkering on the stock.

I have done a lot of woodworking, it was my business for some 30 years, and I believe you have a very well thought out stock there. The cap that was added I believe was put on the grip to dress the cathedral grain pattern that is accented by the stippling and to close the end grain that occurs from that grain pattern. Note how it is exactly where the stippling ends. I see it as a feature not a distraction. That is one fine looking stock.
@@grizmt7779 Not sure why but UA-cam AI keeps blocking my comment to you. Thank you for your support! I highly appreciate you brother! 🎯🤠👍

I am new to the air gun world and after watching some videos I decided to go with the spring piston models so I bought a TX 200 carbine and a HW 97K and I thoroughly enjoy shooting them although I seem to prefer the HW 97 accuracy of the two are very similar But I prefer the HW 97 just wondering is there any advantage to a break barrel versus a under lever I like that rifle you’ve shown and I’m considering one just wondering what your thoughts are on that. I am just a target shooter and small game hunter all around the farm. Nothing else thank you. I really enjoy your channel.
@@kevinhart313 Thank you Kevin! 🙂 A break barrel is much quicker and easier to load than an under lever. 🎯🐇👍
Hi Chuck, the '35 is a great rifle. I have 2, a new 35k and a stunning 35E from the 80s with a 22inch barrel😮. I've a diopter sight for my 35 that I used to use for 10metre target work at the club when I was a young lad, if I can find it up and if you would like it I'll send it out to you. The foresight blade with the hole in in middle was designed to be used with the diopter. ( Ps though a K is a carbine length rifle as other have said it's actually Kurz which is German for short).
@@vincentenglish8489 Sounds good Vincent! 🎯🙂👍 I'll drop my email here.👇 chuckenglert68@gmail.com
Hi Chuck, I have two of these. A forty year old E model with 22inch barrel and walnut stock. Just dismantled it and found a badly bent spring, bent piston rod and poss. the original seal. Dropped in a Vortek kit and seal, straighteded piston rod and re-assembled. Now running in but a vast improvement. The other is a more modern one been mucked about with so sorting it out. Great guns to use. Difficult to put them down. Looking at an HW 98 today. Regards, U.K. P.S. Hold the slide lever down when closing to avoid spelching on the face of the body.

😉 Amicalement
@@Loran.177 Thank you for checking out my video but I don't understand your language.🎯🙂👍
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 UA-cam traduit pour vous dans toutes les langues... 😉 UA-cam tranlates for you in every languages... 😉 No, no and no... "K" has nothing to do with "carbine". The "K" in Weihrauch means "Kurz" and means (regarding their guns) "short" in German. Many make this mistake; showing by the way that few people read the manual provided... 😄 All the Weihrauch in spring-piston are excellent. The HW98 is perhaps, with the HW97K, one or both of the best in this brand; not to mention Air Arms with its TX200 which far surpasses them. I own a HW50S, HW98, HW97KT and formerly an HW97K. 😉 Friendly
That blonde part on the grip is sap wood, it's not glued on, it's a natural part of the tree.

Here in India some company makes rifle same quality as weihrauch hw30 all that under $120, its called SDB gennex pro look it up same as hw30
@@GUNDARAJAKHAN I would really like to see it, and test it out! 🎯🤠🙋👍
It's made by SDB. The quality is definitely not in the same league. Wooden stocks in Indian guns simply don't have that high quality look and feel. About performance, until someone does a proper side by side comparison, I guess we won't know. It's a small gun, runs between 6-7 FPE, so yes, it's definitely inspired by the HW30. What he is showing is the HW35 though.
Nice, it was my 1st Weihrauch i ever bought. For HFT i now have a HW97 but still love to pick up the 35 now and then. Greetings from Holland!
@@Ros.A314 Thank you! 👍 It would be really fun to do hunter field target!🎯👍
Weihrauch HW-35 My favorite Weihrauch rifle is the RX-2(HW-90) But I sure would not turn down a nice HW-35 😁 . My Favorite, and my choice for "The Best Break Barrel Ever" Feinwerkbau FWB-124D It does not have the power of some, but, for the combination of durability and accuracy. I think it's unmatched. Just an IMO . Choosing .177 vs .22 Generally speaking, under 20ft-lbs of muzzle energy, give me the .177 over 20ft-lbs, a .22 . Muzzle energy / FPS In case anyone is interested and not heard this before at a Muzzle velocity of 671fps - the pellet weight will equal the muzzle energy 671x671x8.0 / 450240 = 8.000 671fps with an 8.0gr pellet = 8.000ft-lbs of muzzle energy 671fps with a 15.9gr pellet = 15.900ft-lbs of muzzle energy so on and so forth, any weight pellet will equal the muzzle energy. If the MV is 671fps And at a MV of 949fps you can double the pellet weight to get the muzzle energy 949x949x10.5 / 450240 = 21.00ft-lbs of muzzle energy . As always. Enjoyed the video and congratulations on your new rifle.
Never owned a 35, but I had the 80, and that rifle was bombproof and so accurate, only downside was the weight. Always found RWS superdomes excellent in it.

Hi Chuck, the HW35 is a true classic. Thumbing the catch again when closing makes the lockup effectively silent, not only stealthy but doing so prevents any possibility of the catch wearing a shallow groove on the cylinder end face opposite the breech seal over time.
