@@bighands69 Volkswagen are not really premium brands in my opinion, save those for bmw/mercs/audis etc., it literally means people’s car. In my country due to tax the price is high, but it is still a level below the big germans, which to me is not a problem as brand prestige is not everything.
@@phas3rrr "ot really premium brands in my opinion, save those for bmw/mercs/audis etc" I could then say they are not premium as anything less than Bently is not a premium brand. There are different levels of luxury/premium out there. Take a VW Touareg it can cost the same money as an Audi or BMW. VW are about 20% more expensive than other brands in their category.

It depends on what you mean by drive as good. Journalists tend to mean dynamic handling whatever that is suppose to mean. In that segment of the market it is all about how smooth the car is.
Had a B8 Variant with standard suspension...this had one of the worst, loud and hard suspension I ever drove in this class. My old Golf 6 had a better suspension comfort especially on rough surfaces. Not a premium experience.
Agree. This car is great in terms of practicality and ergonomics. It does everything well but nothing great. And suspension is really bad. I tested B8 Variant 2.0 TDi on 18” rims and it was horrible on village roads. On good highway it was fine. I want B8 facelift and need to know if with 17” rims and DCC is usable daily car or not.
@@johnwet6969 totally...went with a C-Class after the passat...this is more comfortable with its Airmatic in Sport+ mode than the B8 Variant on Standard suspension...I guess 17" and DCC will help...haveto try an actual passat with DCC...also I would be curious if noise insulation is worse than pre facelift...VW is notorious for saving on such things and un-refining cars with facelifts to save costs.
@@johnwet6969 the pre facelift one I had without acoustic glas was great insulation wise (wind and motor noise)...better than the C Class, to which I added the front acoustic windows later. Also Mercedes is cheating regards to build quality wherever they think customer won't notice immediately...just like VW.
The passat suspension is too soft a spring and too hard shock absorber, how they say ride is very smooth is not true at all, I know first hand I was very surprised ride quality is that bad for vw passat, pucks up every pothole or crack in road, kinda throws car and unsettles it very much, should not be that bad, hell my Ford connect tdi work van is better, smoother and I prefer driving that to my vw passat, what does that tell you, simple too bad hard suspension and bad ride quality
I always stop and stare at most VW cars. Especially Passat. I find it extremely good looking.
Why stop and stare when you could be driving one! We'd be happy to explore pricing for you - get on touch on 01903 538835 👍📞
Myself, I turn my head for every passat 2015 year and up I see, I love it
Hi there, we'd be happy to help you get behind the wheel of a brand new Passat 👍www.osv.ltd.uk/hello-youtube/
When in doubt - buy two.
Is DSG gearbox reliable in long-term?
Hi ZhouXiang, read our article to find out more about Volkswagen reliability: www.osv.ltd.uk/volkswagen-reliability
I hear a lot about Volkswagen Passat have high/often/costly maintenance cost. Is that true?
It's one of the cheapest to maintain
All premiem cars are more expensive to service and run. That is to be expected.

Thanks. Is this the driving of this Passat close to Audi a6?
Kind regards

I would say better to drive than w205 c class but not as good as g20 3 series.
I have not seen comparison to A6.
The Passat may not drive as good as a mondeo or Mazda 6 but it's far more upmarket in my opinion

Quality car.
It is good at everything.
But maybe Toyota Camry is better
@@dragospahontu Yeah Camry has a better engine.

But you can't beat an N/A engine
Who edited out sitting in the front/dashboard?
More space in the Skoda superb.
Good point 👍 Are there any other features you look out for in new cars?

Ron Power it’s true 😒 If I’ll buy it only with laminated double glass.

Can you not just say measurements of the boot instead of litres, as it's how all of size boot in real life, we grab a tape measure

With DCC and 17' tires it is butter smooth.
Passats always look boring.
