And here i thought you were going to show us starting a blueprint house and then place foundations in step 1 and then destroy most of it until the blueprint hologram vanishes leaving you with a foundation that is stuck in the ground and then build off that.
What I do is snap a half pillar to the side of the flooring of the pier, even with the bottom of the floor, then I snap a full pillar to the bottom of the half pillar then nudge it underneath the floor piece before placing it, then destroy the half pillar... repeat as necessary 😎
They can be a pain. Make sure your cursor is pointed under the piece you want to snap to near the edge, and try snapping to the middle of your platform and nudging to the left or right to get it in its final place.

I trying to figure out how to put pillars under a pier in the water. I can’t find a snap point
Haven't tried it yet myself, but I have a place where we want a bridge, so I'll see if I can find a way.
