If this conversation could be summed up with one quote, this would be it.
Kailash Nadh, CTO of @zerodhaonline joins Kunal in a discussion about the future of humanity: everything from A.I.’s inevitable impact, why choosing to have kids is a philosophical conundrum, why life goals are irrelevant in a universe that prefers chance, and more.
Viewing Advisory: Side-effects might include an existential crisis or a deepened passion for changing the world.

I don't know why but after Kunal's talk with Kailash, I feel Kunal is a very psudeo intelluctual person. Nothing in there, just reasoning and over generalizing nonsense. Kailsash' way of looking things is very different than normal individuals, that way of looking at the globalization and paying back nature is an amazing POV I have never heard before.
true he is all filled with the marketing and the concept of repackaging and selling things and not actually building things with his original ideas cause he just cant think and deceive others by shaking his hands that he is thinking
Lots of judgement in comment section. Both gentleman are intelligent and distinguished human beings. Let’s respect it and enjoy the beautiful conversation.
Not like that.... But it's like what kind of role you are in, Kunal is generalist as an entrepreneur his job is or he is now subconsciously trained his brain to look at the subject from a larger point of view at the same time Kailash 's Job required to be able to dive deep and get to the bottom of the things in order to create or automat or even to innovate
I have been starting to feel the same way lately. he generalizes a lot of things and then you don't seem to have a concluding answer to any of his arguments.
Dr. K is a rare one. He's the reason why Zerodha is a billion dollar business, and the best part is that Nithin Kamath has the wisdom and humility to give him free reign with his ideas. They were a match made in heaven.
😂 I was checking my phone whether my music is on😂😂😂😂😂😂
human intelligence at peak 😂
Kailash you're easily one of the easiest person to listen to and reason with.
Thanks again for sharing your brain-trust with us. 🙌
Yeah! Totally agree, nikhil and Nithin and kailash shows how zerodha is really deserving company
Are you serious dude ?
I feels like he is making everything too much philosophical and its so cringe.
Never seen someone diss Kunal like Kailash did in the most humbling & modest way possible. An art to offend a little & still get away with it is something we should pick from Kailash. Loved his POVs & rebuttals on quesitions that were thrown at him spontaneously. Nailed it! ❤💯🔥
Kailash avoided every question by finding a fault in the formulation of the question. I agree that Kunal's questions were not perfect, but they were intended to steer the conversation in a certain way, and Kailash's responses did not let the conversation get interesting. Overall this was a poor discussion.
2 questions that Kunal should have asked:
1. How does Zerodha and Cred plan to use AI to improve currently relevant functions. Concrete examples. Are there things that will be possible now in the tech stack that was not previously possible..
2. AI so far has been an expedition to mimic things people can do, just faster and at scale. Will it ever be able to do something that humans cannot do ?
Or are not good at doing ?
@@shashankprasad6403so I was gonna react to your question a certain way but choosing to give another answer, in accordance with Kailash's different approach.
Most (not all) of Kunal's questions were either sensational or akin to what the media already keeps circulating.
Kailash's approach was, as is his philosophy, more measured at the onset. It's basically a First Principles approach of removing all redundancies and boiling things down to their fundamental(irrefutable concepts) and then reasoning up from there.
What this ensures is getting clear of most biases, looking at things for what it is and with sound logic inferring the next step to be taken without jumping to any conclusions or committing intellectual dishonesty. Hope this helps!
@@vancedadder First principles approach is very commonplace approach in the tech world. I agree that Kailash was boiling things down to absolute fundamentals/building block.
AI is over-exaggerated by media as you point out too. Hence as a listener, my expectations from this group, was that they focus on how the power of machine learning can be harnessed to do meaningful impact to their products/businesses. Most people in the world are using AI today for gimmicky projects, which will fade away soon with time.
Hence the two questions I posted.
(Overly playing devil's advocate, results in noise and has a negative impact, not letting the conversation/discussion/initiative proceed in a direction. Either ways, it is pointless discussing the style of this discussion. It's over. Move on.)
After listening to him, all I can say is 'Philosophy is not dead'. It a luxury that only people who deal with complexity gets to enjoy to resolve their wits & live a peaceful life.
His outlook on redefining the economic growth and paying back to Mother Nature was just beautiful.❤
Kailash is a real one....i remember reading a piece he wrote on powered by ai or something of that sort..very clear, no nonsense, real estimation of where most tech companies stand at the moment.
He sort of reminds me of peter thiel for some reason!
all zerodha guys have great intellect and specifically they have that patience to better think and then talk
Kailash is so down to earth ❤️
I guess everyone from zerodha are too kind and humble
💯
i guess you follow twitter
This person is fucking genius. Breaking down ever question
to it's most basics and thinking from first principles to answer it.
Thank you Kailash, Kunal and Cred Curious team. Insightful discussion with a lot of meaningful food for thought.
Conversations like this happen only bangalore.
While Bombay and Hyderabad is busy talking about Bollywood and Telugu films
Agree 💯
When you do a podcast on AI, without using it for background noise removal 😅
Loved the conversation!
This is a gem. Thought provoking and also interesting to see how these people think!
It is probably the first time that Kunal is putting so much thought to frame questions just to convince him to answer it.
After a very long time i experianced the taste of "learning" thanks for the entire team
grt pod . pls fix the sound not the starting part but whole coz CRED is known for quality so make sure you don't hurt that. Waiting for more Sridhar Vembu Sir.
Thankyouu so much for this conversation!
The way this guest speaks, he is without doubt a genious
Kailash, such an original thinker. Rare in today's AI age
my god this wisdom this level of wisdom 😮💨🔝topped the chart
Couldn't help thinking about Dunning Kruger effect during this very insightful conversation.
Awesome podcast , great to listen and gain knowledge from the best minds of the india and world . Thank you kunal and cred team ❤
Well what have you learned from this 2 hour podcast then ?
Excited 🎉
how to get access to be in live interview anyone help me
I use to think why nithin is such a big fan of k now I understand .
gosh the way kunal ended up by saying “societies should be status driven “ shook me off for a moment but when hé generalised the formula how wealth societies increases consumption makes sense but at the end he also sarcastically mentioned two fintech ppl are talking that wealth is not good..damnnit what to get out of it now😢😂❤
I dont think kunal shah would ever talk to this dude again!
please add subtitles
None of the CTOs were ever my inspiration until I happen to know about Kailash Nadh
I was depressed before watching this. Now I'm suicidal. BTW I found Dr. K's logic of not having kids ridiculous for the simple fact that he might as well be robbing this world of one new brain that could have contributed to solving the climate crisis. Just because we can't figure it out doesn't mean our future generations won't be able to either.
What are the odds that his one kid would do what a billion others haven’t? Sometimes you do need to be a realist
Time stamp?
@@nagarajpn9279 if we were to go in this direction, why should I change my habits to sustainable living if billions other won't? That's anything but realist. As a matter of fact one person in a billion can change the course of world.

Glad you said it. Adding to it, he is setting an ideal to the society that one must not have progeny. What is the nth order effect of that? Considering the demography he's catering to in this video (privileged as he mentioned), we will be deprived of only smart people while we will have an abundance of the alternate. Expected more.
As tech is becoming more efficient we need more people in the bio side, like food production to make it climate friendly... I hope talent people will flowing to solve prbs related to biology.
For anyone who found the last answer interesting (about how we should define growth) I highly recommend this book called the third curve by mansoor Ali khan
This conversation was intriguing (often awkward too, it could have been a much engaging conversation, it felt like Kailash was forced to have this conversation and Kunal couldn’t steer the conversation towards less awkwardness)
We need more CTO s like him ✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ironically this was a fun cred curious to listen to.❤
whats ironic about this?
Kailash answered amazingly to the Kunal’s sometimes stupid questions and perspective.
Extraordinary
What is that song in the background
Oh wait it's from the phone 🥲😂
Presenting to the 8bilion population, that's the secret..you will reach more than you ever think ,thanks to the infrastructure and the great connectivity we have in India 😊 the greatness is yet unfold ..
How can we get invited to these talks?
Dr K is the absolute best! such brains with that personality, they dont make em like him anymore
Hey maybe actually brilliant but the talk he gave in this podcast is absolutely cringe worthy.
I mean I don't think anyone can bare him when he say things like he needs to go back to cellular level to say when he met nithin. 🤢🤮
Can anyone describe what does LLM means?
With respect to AI for content, I think both Kailash and Kunal's views could happen, just at different timeframes on a S curve. Kunal's view at the peak of it and Kailash's view tending towards the end of the cycle.
That view of DR K about climate change totally changed my perspective...
The conversation is awesome.
Most of us are generally not well read. It's not only the history. That's the reason we struggle to make sense of things that are going on. We do not need more engineers and MBAs now. We need well- read people, storytellers, philosophers and their kind.
This video showed how less we know about technology, history and earth
🔥
There is noise in BG
50% credit to Kailash for making Zerodha 12bn$ startup [ Intrinsic valuation.. ] Great guy.
bro got that mr. robot vibe
Need better audio
who want kunal shah with nikhil kamath
Hey Kunal, if you are reading this comment I'm a big fan of yours. I really admire your business and ideas. Thank -you for these video. Please try to make podcast with nikhil kamath if possible!

I disagree with the last thing that we should be in a status driven society not wealth driven.
I believe that we should be in a wealth-driven society not status driven because wealth is a positive-sum game but status is always a zero-sum game so in the long run it wouldn't make any sense...
K shah also believed in that few years ago
Check out his beerbiceps pod
This episode is underrated
I love you ❤

Wtf is this comment
the music thing happens with me too😂😂😂
AI NLM technology can change the human society
The only problem I have with this video is that this has a negative vibe to it. They are talking like it's hopeless to think about the future.
This should be a moment to rejoice and celebrate. Humanity now has THE BEST tool it has ever made and how EASY it's going to be solving our gigantic issues. Climate change, poverty, diseases, you name it.
Leaders should inspire the f out of this coming generation, we will be the ones that create our paradise.
Our only limit are the laws of physics.
some disturbance in audio background
hahahaha so funny
Video no.84
Light lofi music going on in background 😌
Edit: nvm
By 2030 indian startups will be bang bang 🇮🇳🇮🇳
I thought the interview went well until Kunal Shah asked Kailash "What kind of music do you listen to?"😂
I think human can be more creative after AI take everything.
Let say
In Ancient Times the first time draw pictures using stone .
Now after so many regressive year , we found color ,then paper canvas after more evolution!
Now we have more color in smaller set i.e we all do in childhood!
Now in software!
Now the q is this is the end or there is more to evolve!
If it going to end , then it is going to be part of some other bigger thing in other field!
I think we are compiling more and more
May be we can create our own Universe, where people live .i.e we are( hypothetical ans😅)
Kailash is the modern Buddha
Feedback: There is some background noise which should have been removed before uploading here
mic use Karlo
while I like these interactions, sometimes Kunal Shah tries too hard to sound philosophical and smart
They have put in the description - listen only if u have deep passion for changing the world. I mean dude get off your high horse. You’re running CRED! You ain’t changing anything
Beyoncé helo is going in background 😅
Annoying music in the beginning
Last of Us 2050 Opening Sequence
a bit disappointed with Kailash! His rejecting to speak on views on AI and India was a put down so to say. He could have given his "personal opinion" not that we wanted him to be correct 100%.
Great performance by Beyonce.!
somebody just made a cred payment in between
he is the most intelluctual sounding person i have ever heard. the guy has insane iq rizz
I am addicted to checking phone but not addicted to opening laptop.
The only thing i learnt was they dont like each other
But is it not true that even today, when we know the repercussions of the competing which we are doing on the planet.
We are not taking steps, and who knows what happens in the future because of this ignorance.
Like the day when you started company, you didn't imagine that one day a computer sitting somewhere on the earth would do a job which was supposed to get done by a human.
Like the damage on the earth is increased (human damage + computing damage)
So, imo it's the nature of technology and unpredictability that makes it difficult to foresight the future and plan accordingly.
Noise in bgm is so annoying !
yeh @cred company chala raha hai ya youtube channel.
- hey kunal big fan of yours, not the celebrity type but yeah if I saw you I will scream, Hey kunal here Nitin big fan of yours
- I have a name for your next CRED CURIOUS epusode
- I love to see you and Achaya Prashant talk
- because you both have a very different view point but what are looking I think is same or It looks to me same
-
Cred never invites cheap and mean hypocrites like that pareshan atma and self proclaimed acharya
@@rishabh4428 no brother, I am just curious to know what kunal and Prashant talk about life, work, climat change, love, companionship, building new things but at the cost of our planet earth
- that's why I requested it
- If you want him call Prashant I am cool with it ...........I am not any BHAKT or whatever you called
- but the points he talks on is spot on, according to me...............
- but the things he talks in a completely logical way is mind-blowing
@@NitinSingh-ll3pd Being logical is not what matters but the intent and hidden motive of the so called acharya is something you must look into..
When there is a difference in what one says and what ones does, this is a pure sign of something wrong.
Acharya is doing completely opposite to what he is saying and even then if we do not rise to spot the truth, it's only us to blame and not that self proclaimed acharya.
Rise mate...you have been brainwashed.
Please note these qualities alone do not matter much:
- Being logical
- speaking politely
- Having a huge following
- Giving interviews(might be funded)
Etc
But this truly matters:
- What he says, he does i.e. he does not build a fake image
- Has the power to question himself/herself.
- Truely Empower his fellow people
Acharya's time is short lived and a dark web self created by himself awaits him to be imprisoned🙇♂️

But the interesting questions is, How Kailash didn't realize about Beyonce😂😂
Kailash looks like Kamal from Iqbal movie. (Hit like if you think the same)
The strength of LLMs is their biggest drawback. It has to have a bit of an error for it to have a creative thought.
So if you have to arrive at a solution to a problem, with LLMs you'd have to do it in a series of steps - for each step, assuming the solution is 95% correct, each subsequent solution will be lower on accuracy:
95%x95%x95%x95%x95% = 77% accurate
Food for thought
interesting
Edgy answers tbvh
Why are we not able to pay back to nature ??
Nice to know that even these high IQ guys like Beyonce 😅
