There is a tiny bit of sound disruption caused by a daft while I was recording. Being cloth eared, I missed it at the time. I hope to rectify this for the next video. My hearty apologies if this is disruptive, but I thought it was ok the vast majority of the time.
That's the problem with GW and Black Library, they are beyond terrible at scale! Three examples.
- A ecuminopolis hive world that covers just 28% of the surface of a planet the size of Terra (which is the surface area not covered by water) would have a population above 200 trillion.
- the Imperium apparently controls the vast majority of the Galaxy, however it only has 1 million worlds, in a galaxy of 400 billion - 2 trillion stars, with approximately 1-100 are G type stars (same as ours) or 4 -20 billion star systems meaning the Imperium controls just 0.004% of the Galaxy.
- the Emperor was born in the times of the Hitties, which was roughly 2500 BC to 1750 BC or 4500- 3700 years ago. But we have large scale ruins as old as old as 11,500-13,500 BC, Gobekli Tepi aka Girê Mirazan and Kaharan Tepi. Meaning the Emperor is 10,000 years younger than we know civilisations is.

However, it IS a different Universe, who knows, their civilisations started way later.
Still, there are SERIOUS errors in the lore.
But what i do not get is how WHF and WH40K are not the same universe any longer!!!
One would assume, as it is Warhammer, WHF would predate WH40K in the same universe?
How darn stupid to call both WH, while not the same at all, in every aspect.
Did they actually kill the Necron Overlord,or just put it out of commission for a time while it was repaired?

Great timing, my Necron army's bases are littered with dead Krieg and had to google a time they fought so its nice to hear it fleshed out. When an army who wins by attrition comes up against the Necrons ...

I agree, you chose perfectly, there are two main stories which the Necrons fought the Krieg, one which for the forgiveness of Krieg and the glory of the Emperor, the Krieg won, and one in which the unrelenting Necrons, for the glory of the Necron Empire, the Necrons won.
I have both armies and frankly I love them both, but Krieg are my pride and joy (mostly due to cost and time spent painting them)
It's like a contest between who can be the best robot like, implacable, irresistable force. Except the Necrons are also the immovable object

I wouldn't call this even a phyric victory anymore. Considering all that was lost. From the necron perspective this was more like a raid. And they succeeded without much losses. If you read the back lore of this Necron Dynasty it's clearly stated they wanted to get rid of all the sentient life/ life in their domain. Considering they took down a hundred worlds in a hundred days. You start to see this battle is a succes for the Dynasty goals. The defenders have left the planet because the raid damaged it so much it no longer has any more value to them.
Humanity seems doomed as far as long term goals are concerned.
From Intergalactic robot skeletons, to 20th century zealous solders from a wasteland, yes.... get ready to be distracted.
Probably, very likely, unpopular... I get Necroms are an army we can field in a table top game... but.. story wise? the other races only ever win when the Necrom underestimate us, they fight each other, or sheer dumb luck. For a race that can fire fragments of dead sun's and all the other techno-sorcery weapons, regenerate from fatal injuries, and existing in a countless numbers all across the galaxy... just saying, aside from plot armor, theres no way humans or space marines would win a pitched battle. I can feel the scrutiny of Inquisition on me. Seriously, it's a race that erased the old ones and shattered the C'tan... Perhaps if the humans were at their peak, like before the rise of the men of iron? Maybe? Speaking of, if the humans were so advanced back then, did they not find the tombs on the planets they developed? MY BRAIN!! It's like a harlequin running through the imperial palace killing dozens of Custodes like they were children... Okay, okay, I obviously didn't take my ADD meds today. Happy New Year!!
And thats how 100% of stories go, necrons ONLY lose to themself really. Every single time Imperium got a win against them its because necrons themself(from different dynasty, or even same one) done something to undermine their people. Even famous World engine was destroyed not by imperials as they were completely helpless in entire fight, but by necrons on Borsis who were in civil war and C'tan shard.
