I'm Gary Valentine. I've never seen this before, didn't know it existed, and as far as I know, it's the only video of my band the Know. Can whomever filmed this and made it available to the Museum of Contemporary Art, and anyone else involved in the exhibition, get in touch with me? I'd like to know if there is any other footage of the band. Fantastic to have discovered this, especially as the group I am playing with now, Bootleg Blondie, have decided to add "Roadrunner" to the act. Talk about coincidence.
I have been corresponding with Richard D'Andrea [aka Raw Terra, bass in The Know] the last couple of weeks; I just alerted him to this video in case he hadn't caught it. Gary, I was in The Phlaix -- you guys were a huge inspiration to us. The first band I saw in a bona-fide LA club. Knocked me out, I'm still reeling a bit. Thanks for that. Also, Richard informs me that I gave him some super-8 that I took of you guys when I was in USC Film School. I'll follow up.
@@zhabotinsky He played bass on a track for me this month! It was amazing. It had extra power for me, since he even used the Stingray bass I used to hear him play with The Know at Madam Wong's (also the first Stingray I'd ever heard). He's a legend and Man, he's still got it. :D
When he was in Blondie, we were all at this restaurant in Mabuhay, Arturo and I were sitting across the table from him. We noticed that he was grabbing the silverware and bending it, underneath the table, then putting the bent forks and spoons on top of the table. We both looked at each other in amazement. Is this what Blondie’s bass player do to unwind?😂

"Talk about coincidence" Very interesting statement coming from you as I'm familiar with some of your post musical career pursuits. 🙏
Wow that was awesome
I didn't know what a good guitarist Gary Valentine was. Reminds me a lot of Richard Lloyd.
You're right! I like his vocals and somehow was not listening to his guitar. Very good!
I was and remain a great admirer of Television.
Dynamite cover of a classic.

Never happened.
My beautiful Sunburst Stratocaster, stolen while on tour with Iggy Pop. Alas.
I was there❤
