Get a bit teary eyed seeing the sawmill roll away. But I'm excited to see the new one!
me2
I being honest here,I almost shed a few tears here....
You wasn’t the only one
am sure at times you must stop and reflect on how tough our forefathers worked without these grand sawmills of today..must have been back breaking work, and at times somewhat dangerous..and makes one be hankful that we do not take life or these tools for granted..great video..
Agreed
Awesome, now to see what the replacement will be.
Congrats on selling your LT 35 Nathan. I'm looking forward to seeing what model your upgrade will be.It'd be nice to not have to trim off any crotch walnut!
1) as always delightful music, 2) really engaging videography, 3) surprising sound quality, 4) I always learn something new. It appears to me that you are doing what you were created to do. I continue to be grateful for your channel; looking forward to this year.
Thanks. Appreciate that
I still can't wrap my head around a sawmill owner BUYING lumber from a big box hardware store to make stickers from. Looking forward to the next video with the new saw mill.
Lol that was exactly my thoughts . I'm a cheep ass we stack the big cut off PC'S together an mill our sticks from that lol bro calls me a cheep ass all the time
Cool you sold it,now on to bigger and better sawing,I know you are thrilled, can't hardly wait to see your new sawmill.
Awesome on sell....you been ready for bigger...better a long time. Can't wait to see what you do. And your old one will teach new owner what you learned to get to your position now...win/win for everybody.
Just seen several videos here on You Tube with folks who built their own mills. Can't remember the one fellas name (Mathew something) but April Wilkerson is the other. Awsome looking mills.
You are not going to hurt my feelings if you didn't saw anything but walnut. Some of the other logs has been very interesting though . I'm glad you sold your mill . 😊
I am sensing a new LT50 wide mill in the near future. Can't wait to see whatever you did choose. Always an adventure with you, my friend
oh boy! NEW MILL COMING! cant wait to see it!
I’m thinking a big boy is coming !
Feel kind of sad seeing it being towed away, looking forward to seeing the new one in the near future, keep up the great work this is my favourite channel on the you tube.
Dang Brother....Dont leave me in suspense like this!!! Your killing me & I can't wait to see your upgrade. Congrats on selling. I CANT WAIT...
Congratulations on the sale of your saw, Nathan. Great sound editing - with the old-timey sound blending in to full modern sound! *awaits next "new saw" edition* #KeepTheChipsFlying!
Congrats on the sell Natan, hope your new machine has a de-barker!
Yet another great video. Have fun at the Newnan meet up 👍
Would love to see a new video on the air drying. Maybe take a look at your timber stacks? I don’t have anywhere to dry timber so would like to see what could be done. I’ve been inspired by you and a couple of other UA-cam sawyers and just uploaded my first video. Thanks
Can wait to see the new sawmill.
that makes two of us,
Woo Hoo!!!! New sawmill coming! Awesome! Exciting!
Thanks 😁
Seems like you can never have enough stickers. Can’t wait to see the new sawmill brother👍🇺🇸
Ooooh, sweet nights ahead dreaming of a new, bigger mill (without pitch on it!). Was really surprised to see you buy stickers, given the amount of waste wood that could be used. But thoroughly understand not wanting to cut pine, even kiln dried. Sneaky to wait until the mill was leaving!!
Congratulations on selling your LT35, Nathan. I am picking up my LT40 Wide the end of April. I chose that mill after watching a number of your videos.
Congrats on the sale, looking forward to the upgrade and more videos. Truly awesome channel. :)
Mt very first thought was "I hope that's kiln dried". You don't have to change your cutting habits for me, I love the walnut lol
Congratulations on the sale. Can’t wait to see the replacement
Like the new intro song !!!!
thanks, trying to change it up a bit,
Can't wait to see the new mill. BTW, Keep your eyes peeled at Lowe's. They set reduced price lumber out side and sell it cheap. Years ago I bought some and saw about a mile of stickers for nearly nothing.
Congratulations on your sell.can't wait to see what's new...
Congratulation on the sell of your mill. Excited to see what the new one will be.
Good news! Sorry to see Kitty didn't make the cut today. Probably picking out a tune on the front porch. LOL. Chomping at the bit here to see the new one in action. 😼👍
Woo Hoo! Looking forward to the new mill!
You sly dog slipping that in there for us.
👍
I always look forward to your videos.
Congrats....Cant wait to see what’s next
Ny wife asked me if your sawmill had sold. Right on queue the announcement appeared on the screen. Good for you. Are you getting a bigger unit? Your videos are fascinating. You have a nice balance of chitchat and milling. I live on the West Coast of Canada, in British Columbia.
I didn't like working with pine dimensional lumber when I had my millwork company. I know how tough it is. I excited for you to get your new saw.
Awesome intro on this one!
thanks James,
Can't wait to see the new mill. Hope it will be kitty approved.
It will be 👍
You'll have to go through mill withdraw until the new one shows up. I did the same when we went from the LT15 to the LT35HD. Now we are looking to go bigger and wider as well.
Congrats on the sale of your mill. They do hold their value. Looking forward to the maiden voyage of the new mill.
Anxious to see your new mill. 👍
That makes two of us
Great job again, glad your sawmill sold so you can get the new one you're wanting. Hope it works out well for ya and keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍👍
Something I can definitely understand Nathan, any excuse to play!! Good job man and thank you!
thanks buddy
That’s great, Nathan!! LT 55? Glad to see you again!!
Congratulations!
Thanks Kevin
Can wait for the next video to see the new mill! I wonder what model will it be?
Can't wait for the new video with the new sawmill congratulations on selling your old lt35 hope you got what you wanted for it
Well he sold it pretty quickly so I'm guessing he had it priced pretty fair. I'm looking forward to seeing where we go from here.
Haven't found the follow-up vid on sawing pine. I can understand your distaste. In QLD, Australia we have 'slash' pine with sap (pitch) pockets which will grab and snap a 10" wide bandsaw blade at times. Really want to share your experience.
Wondering if it was hard to let the Sawmill go, or was it exciting knowing your new one will be able to saw wider slabs, probably a bittersweet day, when will the new one be sawing logs?
Both 😁😩
most pine kiln dried lumber is dried to 19%, look at the ink stamp on the lumber when you buy it and it will show a KD19 and other info that tells where it was manufactured at. Can not wait to see what your next mill will look like and be able to do, love your video series, keep up the good work brother!
Thanks. Appreciate you watching
Our pine isn’t stamped that way 🤔
So crazy how I just made some of these things today while sawing some red elm sawyers think alike I reckon
Add a little set to ur blades helps keep pitch under control on ur blades when sawing pine too!!
Man, I feel your pain. I've sawn, in the last week, 4500 pieces of SYP and white pine. I've switched from pinesol to Mean Green.
Can't believe that was 4 years ago
Hello Nathan,
I only saw a portion of your video on Instagram prior to asking about Teflon spray to prevent pitch build up. I was at work 😀 keep up the good work with your videos. Looking forward to more.
thanks Roy, appreciate you watching,
Diesel cut the pitch build up easily, even just a squirt bottle on hand and give the band a shot or two on every return cut. I run diesel right from my little half gallon tank, the mill was designed to run a diesel drip to clean the band. As for pitch build up on your hands, lube your hands with some olive oil then a little soap and water will clean the gunk right up nice. You didn't saw the 2x10 originally? why not? just curious what the advantage is to not make stickers from your own material?
i like my stickers dry, not green,
So how soon will we see the new machine? Any hints? You are killing us man...
Mizer now offers a wide cut model in the 'mid range'.. hoping that's what you get, so the wide crotch logs can be kept full width. Our west we have tons of douglas fir, not so much pine anymore. I love the smell of sawing pine, but dealing with the pitch pockets is messy with a table saw blade.. sticky mess..
Been waiting for you....
as the ending shows, lots going on here the past few days
@@OutoftheWoods0623 will be watching for the new sawmill and upcoming wood.
Hey there friend, is there a wrong species to make stickers out of? I am thinking of ole junk Virginia pine and poplar for air drying. I appreciate it. Shannon
I was wondering how long is to long for an oak tree I cut down to be on the ground. I left it whole. Not sure if it worth cutting and milling or just firewood.
Are you getting a new mil. How much larger is it going to be?
When I was younger we cut pine for firewood- you're right might as 2ell throw away the gloves...
Wir wünschen euch ein schönes Wochenende
Congrats on selling your sawmill, but kind of sad to see the LT35 go down the lane.
Yeh ok ,, When does the new mill arrive ? .
My guess ... LT50 with Wide option, debarker, and laser sight. The laser sight gets pointed at the wall for Moma Kat to chase as the cutting head runs down the rails...
Boy now there’s a cliffhanger the suspense is killing me what new sawmill did you get ? 🇺🇸🎄
Wondering why not cut the boards in half, and cut four stickers per pass?
Never heard of using pinesol I’ve been using liquid laundry detergent . I’ll have to give it a try
When sawing pine I also use liquid laundry detergent. Never heard of pinesol as a use.
Detergent breaks down the gum i guess?
Wide.👍
👍 good thinking,
LX 450!
I was thinking from watching a few of your videos! I think they should come up with a double sided blade ! That when you get to the end you can start there and start cutting at the other end. Do you think that would work?
I don't think you can do that because of the blade guides
I was disappointed with the non-reveal of the pine sticker wood grain. :-)
🤦♂️you didn’t miss much
Windshield washer fluid will fix the sap problem!
nope doesnt work for me tried it,
Tennessee sap nastier than Ohio sap? I understand, Tennessee whiskey?
Any cheaper than Home Depot just buying a couple of boards and not a bunch of stickers?
I was going to mention that's not your truck towing your mill. SOLD! LX450 on order?
Some people might say that’s overkill sawing stickers on a sawmill, but it’s sure beats doing it with a table saw and no help, right? What timing on selling your mill. Are you going to pick it up down in Newnam, or just pick the one you’re getting, or is it already on the way. Anyhow, congratulations and hope it serves you as good as the LT35 did. ✌️
Not sure yet. Still deciding 👍👍
Nathen, you didn’t go to Home Depot to get that material for those stickers did you? LOL!
Will the new one have an electric motor?
Doubtful
Congrats, selling.. looking forward to the next one. Do we get a pic?
havent got a new now yet, still looking
He is still going to Ga. and the Woodmiser roundup???... not sure what they actually call the gathering, so I believe the new Mill is the same brand??? This was made to be Cliff Hanger and seems to be working....I am worried the Kiln is not electrically hooked up and it needs to be bigger... I think the next project as he has to adjust...a lot logs to mill and if they all get milled the kiln will be working overtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha it sticks 2 butt 2 if take a seat on a stump on a nice warm 2 take a break 4 lunch but it waterproof gloves 4 those rainy days
Pine = chainsaw mill. That is if you wish to avoid the mess of the residue.
Nathan, let me join in with everyone else in congratulating you on the sale of your mill. Sure looked odd to see it being pulled by a Ford! Can't wait to see the new one,
I'm curious, though, as to why you chose to cut the stickers with your sawmill when that seemed more of a table saw job. This is no criticism , just an expansion of my limited knowledge of sawmill use.
Hah, new vid started and there was the same ol' mill and I figured no one had jumped on it yet, silly me, No Charkie cameo in this one?
looks like you wont be coming home from Georgia empty handed!
Doubt it will be that soon.

Nate that was funny. I know now that you hate pine. I think you really hate pine. You hate it do much you sold your mill
Lol
Why not use the off-cuts I see in the background instead of expensive commercial boards?
Need dry stickers. Not green. Green will stain the wood. This is faster way and better product
Omg I thought you was serious an read a few comments an then it hit me Du! You sold the mill to replace it with bigger an better .. way to go give me heart failure. Lol
Thought that was pine Sol
yes sir, helps on pine
.....sad to see it go, even if it means great new things
Bye bye, old mill, (Sniff)...
Keeping us in suspense, aren't you!
And myself 👍
OK, time to explain 'stickers' for a non-woodworker! (And is that a new truck, or is that the new owner driving away?!)
New owner
I believe the "stickers" are used to separate the slabs in the kiln or elsewhere to help with even drying.
Thanx for that...
Wow you really hated that pine so much you went out and sold the LT 35. Going by the length of the stickers you are going to get something much wider.
Its much easier to saw at 8ft long and cut in half later
👍👍
I guess you are going to saw logs the old fashioned way.
I consider any video that doesn’t have your kitty in it a failure. But other than that, an interesting video. Glad you sold your wood mill.
she was around but didnt make it on film,
Out of the Woods, please make sure we see her next time. I love cats.
