Looks like a fun project Craig! Just doing spring over with the 14 bolt should get you at a pretty good hieght in the rear. You should just 3 link and coil the front with some jeep coils. a little more money and work but well worth it for the ride and performance.
s10s are beasts . i owned one for the better part of 2 years and ran it into the ground. it finally left my possession after the fuel pump blew out and the gas tank rusted away and wouldn't hold any fuel great little machine
A 15 year old truck in Michigan and very little rust?!? That truck was well taken care of or lived most of it's life out west or down south. I like the theme you are going with though.

my 96 2wd will be a ls 5.3 and 4l60e swap its currently a manual the t56 would be better but the auto is way more economical
