The Solarium is really nice. However, Cafe Two70 at the other end of the ship is an absolute gem. The food is nice and light (salad and wraps) and the views out of the back of the ship are just fabulous. You can eat in the Two70 theater when the open up the back curtains!
I think it’s so crazy that we already pay for the cruise but wifi is hundreds of dollars, spa is an additional expensive charge etc. I can appreciate that there is a lot that’s included but your pricing for some of these things are insane!!
I’ve been cruising since the mid 80s. And the cost of a cruise has remained relatively steady. Travel is a business like any other. While giving more amenities, they are going to have to get their money somewhere.
There are cruise companies that include everything but they cost a bit more. Check out Regent. My first cruise was 1993 and a 7 night cruise with Princess. It cost $2500 a person for an ocean view but it included much more and the food was amazing.
@@tamlund3441 you beat me to the punch lol. I was thinking the same thing. I pay way more money on other vacations and still have to pay for the add on things. Lol
Room 13118 was my room for an 11 night cruise to the Southern Caribbean both me and my fiancee loved it. The captain even let me go onto the bow of the ship to propose to my then GF. It was so cool major thank you to everyone at Royal Caribbean for making this happen.
Odyssey was my first ship! I watched this video on my cruise day morning, driving from Daytona to Ft. Lauderdale. This is where I found some of the best hidden secrets that I never would have found otherwise! Thank youuu
Family was on Odyssey in July in Med, knew about most of these from other videos. Fun to find them all. - Need to sign up for Zone Zero right away! Not available when we tried on embarkation day, even with The Key. - Not really hidden is Cafe 270, but like the Solarium Bistro rarely ever busy. Great place to use your Refreshment and Premium Drink pkg for coffees. Then sit and enjoy the view or join one of the events going on.
I found the bridge wings on Quantum at about 5 in the morning as we were sailing back into New York. Was the next to last cruise on Quantum before she became the slow boat to China. It also had the glass floor stair looking all the way down to the Promenade. Can't wait to get on Odyssey in April.
We've signed up for a Rome to Rome cruise in Aug 2022. I've been binge watching all of the content I can find on this ship! It sounds incredible and I can't wait to explore. Even though it's a nine day cruise I don't know how I'm going to do everything that I want to do.
Hey Matt thanks for the video tour, love the soft chairs and shade seating, love the pub bites, and I seem to remember that harmony of the seas also has the bridge wings I think I recall standing out there on sale the way add Port Everglades looking at the condominium area where they have the live camera shot of the ships leaving Port.
Love the video! We’re onboard Odyssey right now for the west bound transatlantic 2022. I’m looking forward to finding everything! One thing of note and I don’t know if it’s just this cruise or all now but Solarium Bistro is for Pinnacle Guests only, all day. Not a big deal but just letting non-pinnacle folks know ahead of time who might be looking for that as an option.
We were on the Odyssey a few weeks ago and will be again in March. We loved that you could do the Ifly and the North Star for free on Port days. Do you know if you can buy a day pass to the thermal spa?
Anthem was my first large ship and I’ve got my first and second Oasis class ships booked. I just saw we can do Odyssey out on NJ in 2025. I’m thinking that’s the way to go. Thanks for the great info.
The Solerium Bridge Wings! that's what they are called. I gotta remember that from now on. On all the ships I've been on. I love going on the ones that have those at night. It's where the least amount of light is and I could really see the stars. So amazing at night.
Was on Odyssey in early August and we found and did all of the list except the zone zero and the pub food. that would have been nice to try the apple pie. My fear of heights only allowed me to walk on the glass floors once. great review
So yeah, Giovanni's Wine Bar has snacks, but so did Vintages. Yeah Jamie's ruined that though. Oasis and Allure still have the amazing Spanish Tapas menu at Vintages. Now THAT's a secret that needs to be told. Wish Royal would bring that to the other ships!!
I am so jealous you have been on this ship. We had booked it to go round the Greek Isles leaving Ravena (Italy) on 9 Oct, but it was cancelled and started sailing from Israel instead until the war troubles restarted there. So our cruise was doomed. I will be looking at Wonder of the Seas when sales start on 22nd September now instead 😏🙂
We are on this ship Oct 2, Greece and Holy Land, leaving from Rome. We love RCCL but this will be our 1st for this class ship. Excited to see what they have. I love the Freedom class.
No, but you can order a la carte instead of paying for the full specialty restaurant experience ($44/person). Our truffle caprese salad (by far the best appetizer we tried) was only $7 and was our favorite thing we ate on the whole ship!
Looks like an awesome ship but, as a photographer / videographer it appears that there isn't too many places to use without glass in your shot. Not much for shooting over the railings, example @. Only exception is a couple small area's on each end of the ship. Thanks for sharing. 👍
8:43 Glass floor in stair. Great idea Royal Caribbean; what woman wouldn't want a dozen floors of people in an atrium stare up her dress? Seriously, what were you thinking?
I really wish they had a weight limit for guests to board the ship. Some of these people are so large that you can't even walk around them! Also, there needs to be an age limit as far as the elderly. There are way too many wheelchairs and old people blocking up the ship with how slow they move. No one over 65 should be allowed on the ship.
Anyone else see that scratch on the glass staircase landing that looks down into the ship. Lol. If it can scratch, it can fracture, if it can fracture, and it break. Lol. No thanks !
The Solarium is really nice. However, Cafe Two70 at the other end of the ship is an absolute gem. The food is nice and light (salad and wraps) and the views out of the back of the ship are just fabulous. You can eat in the Two70 theater when the open up the back curtains!
Perfect timing! This is really helpful! 95 days until Odyssey to Coco Cay. I can't wait!
When did you go to coco cay?
Because I went two days ago

You're right. Stay home. 🥳
I absolutely loved this ship. Got off recently. Didn’t know the pub served food!!! Didn’t see the glass stair landing! Good stuff Matt.

The Odyssey of the Seas will be my first cruise, too. Unfortunately I have to wait to October 2023. I hope you had a great journey.
Love this! Can't wait to cruise next year!! Thanks!
I’m going on Odyssey in March. Good tips. Thanks!
We are going too🎉.
Sounds great!!! Thanks for sharing

We r going on the odyssey 01/02 thanx a lot for this vedio. I can't wait super excited 😆
Odyssey is a beautiful ship, no doubt about it. But I missed Central Park and the Boardwalk.
It was so good to be cruising again!
Ditto, need to combine the two
sailing on feb.20th--wil be looking for those areas..super excited!
Great video ...can't wait to board the Odyssey. We will be doing a B2B -- transatlantic and Greek Isle next Apr/May

IN AUG
@@bobbyrhagwh Are you on the Atlantis charter?
Ahhh im going in June, ill lyk how it is!!
@@janie8850 Thank you. I’ll be interested in how you did your pre-cruise Covid test and if RC has added new protocols like masking.
Thank you for posting this! Literally told my TA I wanted a room on deck 13 just for the “secret entrance” to the solarium! 😂❤

38 days!!!! First Royal Caribbean cruise for me. I’m so used to Carnival.
Thanks Matt. I really enjoy sailing on Anthem so I'm pretty sure I will love Odyssey.

Good to know about the port days! I'll be on the ship March 6th and I can't wait.
Have to reserve for iFly and North Star?
Really enjoy your vlogs Matt great to see the restart after the year and a bit offline thanks for helping us through the pandemic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the new enhancements! Hope they upgrade Anthem soon.
Found everything. Great stuff that you mentioned. However the glass bottom on the skydeck is on the 15th floor in the aft part of the ship.
Love the live intro Matt!
Thank you!
Anthem was my first large ship and I’ve got my first and second Oasis class ships booked. I just saw we can do Odyssey out on NJ in 2025. I’m thinking that’s the way to go. Thanks for the great info.
I was impressed with Zone Zero. Was the first to try it. I could do it way longer than the allotted time.
Thanks Matt! Aug 22, here I come!
Well I guess they’re not secrets anymore! Lol. Love your blog! Looking fwd to January on her
Great Video! Will be on Odyssey in 5 days! Can' Wait!
November 20th, here we come. Thanks Matt
Thanks for the great tips especially the Solarium Bistro on embarkation day. Is the Solarium the best place for sail aways?
Looks great. I'm going in January
We had a cabin on deck 13 on Anthem and found the secret entrance to the Solarium 😀
The Solerium Bridge Wings! that's what they are called. I gotta remember that from now on. On all the ships I've been on. I love going on the ones that have those at night. It's where the least amount of light is and I could really see the stars. So amazing at night.

Have a great time!
Has Zone Zero closed? Thank you for your content! It is greatly appreciated.
I wish I would have watched this video before I went on my cruise on Odyssey. I was on there for two weeks and didn't know half this stuff
Is the solarium bistro included for free on all ships?

Same second sailing?
@@MrInternFTL not sure what week Matt cruised. I do not believe he said when he went

i will be on the Symphony of the Seas in Feb and I just booked a cruise of Wonder of the Seas. Is there much difference in the two ships.
The pub food/snacks and Giovanni's wine bar food, can you use UDP?
The pub and wine bar foods extra or included?
Extra
Can you use the unlimited dining plan for the Pub food?
Nope
There are several vending machines on deck 4 next to the big chair if you forget something
wow VR on a cruise ship. it would be cool to have escape rooms if there isnt one already.
I am going on her in January 2023
Vids like these are really helping me know what to checkout
Glad it's helpful!
Same. January 2023. I am looking forward to do everything in this video

Is eating at the pub or wine bar included or do they cost money? If so is it per dish?
They cost extra and it is per dish
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog can dining plans apply?
Is the pub food included or additional charge?
Additional charge
Hope you do one of these for Oasis before my cruise next year.
I guess I'm eating breakfast every morning at the Solarium coz of the omelette station haha
I love your voice
Much obliged
Matt , it looks as You would need a 7 Day Cruise
just to EXPLORE the Ship.....With--out Ports...
But that's OK too...
Is the food at wine bar complimentary???

That 99.00 thermal charge was over $200 pp in October 2023. And don’t forget the 18% gratuity. 😢
8:43 Glass floor in stair. Great idea Royal Caribbean; what woman wouldn't want a dozen floors of people in an atrium stare up her dress? Seriously, what were you thinking?
Is the solarium Bistro open for children on all ships because I thought it was adult-only on anthem of the Seas
Where is she after med season 2025? Will she come back to Florida? We may have to book and fly to Jersey. 😂
I always thought cruise ships skipped over deck 13! I'm going on Oasis next summer and I know that ship doesn't have one
Oasis class ships don’t have a deck 13, correct. Quantum class do. They are built by different ship builders. ☺️
Going on this ship
id this the same as the one that travels from Rome to the greek islands???
I went to odyssey of the seas at 9 - 17 2022
My stateroom was 287
Switch to decaf!
Sky Pad has been decommissioned. The VR experience is gone.
If they were to make another something of the seas class they should name it like heavens of the seas lol
Lol! The cruise director on Odyssey said he voted to have it named the “Pear of the Seas”
Watching this while on board to make sure I'm not missing anything!
First
is the pub food FREE
Doubt it. I saw a tour of a sister ship and their pub food cost money (but was said to be worth it).
Pub food on Ovation was extra
It was not, but also not expensive. Most of the appetizers at crown and compass were $4 each and at Giovanni’s it was about $7 for the appetizers
It's extra
I am going in januari 2 2022
zone zero is permanently closed
Its the same ship
We’re going on her October 31, 2022 transatantic
