Personally, I have a completely different take as a single father. This song puts me in the opposite of a good mood, and wrecks me every time i hear it.
My parents were divorced by the time I was born. My father was never a perfect man, but he was always there for me. I know his life was harder than he ever let on, but this song helps me remember to love my father and appreciate the pain he went through, so I hope you know that your children need you ms one day they’ll appreciate everything you’ve done and always do
This song really hits me hard. My dad would always play this song on the way home after picking me up from my moms house. I never understood the significance of these lyrics till I got older.
Colder weather is a really good track. They also do a track with Chris Cornell that is pretty great called Heavy is the Head. Both are well worth the listen, even if you don’t do a react video.
3:46 what??? This puts you in a good mood? This song is heartbreaking. Sometimes you reactors don’t listen to a damn word of the song, and if you do, the meaning goes straight over your heads. This is about a dad’s heartbreaking every single time he has to make the drive to drop his son back at his moms home, and about being sad the entire time he’s without him. If this makes a feel good song to you, then you’re not listening or comprehending.
If you just heard the TUNE to Highway 20 Ride, you would think that it was a happy song. When you absorb the WORDS, it's a choke-up song! Kind of like Piano Man by Billy Joel: The TUNE itself seems pretty benign, but when you absorb the words, it tells kind of a sad story.
HELLO. I like a lil bit of everything (or at least Most Things) Music 🎶 & hearing Zac Brown Band Live + Reaction is clearly worth the Listen/View! Several others mentioned it, so tally another vote for Zak Brown Band Colder Weather, such a good Song with Zak singing with his heart and Soul... Tremendous
He has to drive hours to see his son, spends time with his son and drives a long way back home again. Not a feel good song. He wishes he could use the long driving time with his son!!
As a mother who pays child support, not court ordered but because I agreed to let my boys go with their father, I wanted to help. I live in WA state and my ex/boys live in CA. I drive every weekend, and get them the summers/holiday breaks. It kills me not to have them everyday but I feel we made the right decision. This song speaks so f*cking hard to my soul.
Thank you for sharing this with us, if you like this . Zac brown and James Taylor sing cold weather live is really good bro. James Taylor does a little surprise at the end that's perfect. Hope you check it out, have a good one dude. And Sweet Annie might be my favorite Zac brown band song
My dad and I have this as our ringtones for each other. Definitely brings tears but also healing. And oh my when they sang it at the concert we were at together….
Could you please react to Zach Brown band w/ James Taylor -sweet baby James/ colder weather. It's version the did together. Or you could just do clder weather the studio version
Wait till you see him see toes and chicken fried.. but so many more I saw goodbye in her eyes another great one... I was typing and you said Damien rice... instant subscribe flat out! Lisa Hannigan undertow live at other voices... part of Damien rice...
This song destroys me, as I made a drive similar to that every other weekend I would go pick up my son. And this song always reminded me of making that drive.
Me and my dad have a vary special place in are harts over this song as my parents are divorced and me and my dad both found this song together one summer when I was like 14 or so when I was visiting him as I lived with my mom in another province and we where driving together and this song came over the radio station and it was the first time I ever seen my dad cry and he told me son iv never heard a song that has spoken to me before so deeply and I want you to know I love you and I would do anything for you and I hope u know that
I gave this a thumbs up, but you say this is a song you cruise around in listening to this to make you feel good…. You noticed the instrumental, the vocals and whole band in rhythm but your are missing the true feeling and seasoning to this song, it’s much more powerful than it’s feel good feeling.
Feel good.....not if you're the dad making that drive. I drove across the state of Florida twice every other weekend to get my kids and drop them off. Even my kids said they didn't know how I did it. I always told them, wait until you have kids. Then you'll understand.
I'll cut him some slack: I think, like me, the first times you hear this song, you absorb the TUNE, but not the WORDS. When you absorb the WORDS, then it chokes you up. Kind of like Piano Man by Billy Joel: The tune sounds nice, but the words tell a sad story.
@@timothymayer3142 I also think that, if he watched a music video of this song, with footage of fathers dropping off and picking up their kids, it would have really rammed the message home to him. I admit, the first two times I heard this song, I was drawn in, because I liked the ENDING so much: "Oh oh ohh oh oh oh oh oh!" Piano Man: I was drawn in by the unique harmonica parts. Only when I listened to the words, did I realize that he was describing a bar full of lonely people.
I love the Zac Brown Band. They're so talented. Their harmonies are great. I can always listen to a song from this band. Zac has what I consider a unique voice and style. The way he belts out the lyrics in some parts of the songs I feel is quite a talent. Thanks for the reaction.
Zac Brown Band is AN EXCELLENT rabbit hole to go down. I remember ZB as an upincommer sitting in with the House band at the Southern Comforter Bar and Grill in Conley GA. Back about 96-98.
This song used to kill me, 13 years ago me and my wife seperated, we have 3 boys thete now 23, 18 and 16, but the first year or so they lived with her, but then i got my house and for the past 11 years theyve been here with me where they belong, thank god❤❤❤
I feel like you completely missed the purpose of this song. All your comments were about about the band and how they brought it, but completely missed the heart of what they were getting at. The life struggle for us and those parents actually raising kids in co-households. bummer take or yours.
I also think that, like a lot of people, including me, the first few times we hear the song, we absorb the TUNE, but not the WORDS. Once you absorb the words, then it really chokes you up. I liken it to Piano Man by Billy Joel: Benign enough tune, but the words tell a sad story. I think that if he saw a music video of Highway 20 Ride, that showed footage of fathers leaving off and picking up their kids, he would have absorbed the meaning of the song more. He probably would have been crying, himself.
This song had me in tears first time I heard it because my dad, who introduced me to this group, would take that highway to come see me and my sister since my parents were divorced.
I LIKE THAT SONG ALOT BETTER WHEN HE DID IT LIVE BECAUSE WHEN HE SANG THAT SONG IN THE MUSIC VIDEO HE WAS SINGING JUST A TINY BIT FASTER THAN WHEN HE SANG IT LIVE
This band is tight. Some absolutely incredible musicians, great harmonies, and song writing. They have a full catalog of great stuff. One of my favorites. I know you love the sad songs, so I get it. It's beautiful.
Jimmy Buffett Jim Buffett and Zach brown together? Right right? You're right. Uh, they do free FREE NN to the mystic. Jim buffett and zach brown together
Like the actual cold weather but the zack brown band song colder weather Brother, I found myself locking. Putting a love button on a colder weather by the sack brown band Question mark brother
Personally, I have a completely different take as a single father. This song puts me in the opposite of a good mood, and wrecks me every time i hear it.
Same here man
God bless you. ♥️ The message is
a heartbreaker. The end of the song really puts it into perspective doesn’t it?
Been there done that. And it was my daughter who told me about this song.
She was in grade school.
My parents were divorced by the time I was born. My father was never a perfect man, but he was always there for me. I know his life was harder than he ever let on, but this song helps me remember to love my father and appreciate the pain he went through, so I hope you know that your children need you ms one day they’ll appreciate everything you’ve done and always do
@dylanspurlock6150 Thanks friend, it's all for them.
The lyrics are about a dad driving back and forth to see his son after a divorce, and how much it means to him. Thanks for doing it!
It's a good time but as a weekend dad damn I can't hear this song and not tear up
Not alone, my dude. Every. Damn. Time.
This song really hits me hard. My dad would always play this song on the way home after picking me up from my moms house. I never understood the significance of these lyrics till I got older.
As an adult, I bet it really chokes you up, when you hear this song now. The tune wasn't sad, but the WORDS were. Much like Piano Man by Billy Joel.
Same bro. I always played it for my son.
I used to listen to this bawling my eyes out after dropping my son off with his mom when he was a baby
Zac Brown band has a deep rabbit hole. Chicken fried, colder weather, free/into the mystic live at red rocks concert is my favorite.
Colder weather is a really good track. They also do a track with Chris Cornell that is pretty great called Heavy is the Head. Both are well worth the listen, even if you don’t do a react video.
This song hits different when you are actually living it.
U should really give “ Zac Brown Band my old man” a listen to that song usually gives me a well needed cry

I've seen a lot of concerts, and this is definitely a MUST SEE band. Fantastic musicianship and harmonies
He has to drive hours to see his son, spends time with his son and drives a long way back home again. Not a feel good song. He wishes he could use the long driving time with his son!!

Zach brown band is an all time favorite of mine, if you reacts to another I highly suggest “colder weather” or “free”
bro is a song ab a devours and not being there for his son, this shit makes me cry every time
Sorry bud, but any dad that has gone through divorce or separation doesn’t think this is a feel good song. This shit is gut wrenching to say the least
Me and my dad have a vary special place in are harts over this song as my parents are divorced and me and my dad both found this song together one summer when I was like 14 or so when I was visiting him as I lived with my mom in another province and we where driving together and this song came over the radio station and it was the first time I ever seen my dad cry and he told me son iv never heard a song that has spoken to me before so deeply and I want you to know I love you and I would do anything for you and I hope u know that
My old man and chicken fried are a must!

BUT ALL IN ALL A VERY GOOD SONG TO SING

For an upbeat song try Toe's "
I love the Zac Brown Band. They're so talented. Their harmonies are great. I can always listen to a song from this band. Zac has what I consider a unique voice and style. The way he belts out the lyrics in some parts of the songs I feel is quite a talent. Thanks for the reaction.

Zac Brown Band is AN EXCELLENT rabbit hole to go down.
I remember ZB as an upincommer sitting in with the House band at the Southern Comforter Bar and Grill in Conley GA.
Back about 96-98.
Love and sunsets

Great song!

Saw them at the James Brown Amphitheater in Augusta in 2014. Just as good live.
This song had me in tears first time I heard it because my dad, who introduced me to this group, would take that highway to come see me and my sister since my parents were divorced.
I SING IT MYSELF SOMETIMES WHEN I'M BY MYSELF BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD
Same my son is 1200 miles away though 20 wont get u there i take 75 for a bit
Even sadder hes never and probably wont ever know me hes 3 now
Hell, I'm still married and 100% present father and this song brings me to tears. Zac brown is a national treasure.
It don't put me in a good mood, reminds me of my single momma days and the pain my sons felt over not being with their daddy.
SO I WISH THAT HE WOULD HAVE SANG THAT SONG SLOWER FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO TO MAKE THAT SONG MORE HEARTFELT AND WITH A LITTLE MORE FEELING
Love your self and life especially life you made

As a divorced father, this hits hard. For 17 years I have had to settle for weekends only.
A feel good song? Do you listen to the lyrics and digest their meaning?
I LIKE THAT SONG ALOT BETTER WHEN HE DID IT LIVE BECAUSE WHEN HE SANG THAT SONG IN THE MUSIC VIDEO HE WAS SINGING JUST A TINY BIT FASTER THAN WHEN HE SANG IT LIVE
this is a sad song.
Great touching song and he has a beautiful voice.
I can't believe someone requested thinsong of all he great and amazing zac brown somgs
This is one of his best. Sounds like you're not a father.
Song is heartbreaking, a beautiful song but there’s nothing uplifting about this one.
This band is tight. Some absolutely incredible musicians, great harmonies, and song writing. They have a full catalog of great stuff. One of my favorites. I know you love the sad songs, so I get it. It's beautiful.
