Indian education system is very different from Europe countries... It's very strict & stressful. Exams aren't give us stress, other activities like assignments, project, journal, practical, internship, seminar, presentation etc gives us stress. That's why I am still thinking that should I complete my masters or not. How much efforts you put just to take a degree if that much efforts you put for preparing a civil service exam you'll get a job. Indian student studies for 15-18 hours a day for scoring 90-98% in board exams
21:31 wow, you mentioned that JFK reference! For people who don't know, JFK, the then president had visited Berlin (which was still divided into East and West Berlin and occupied by USA and USSR each) and made the famous remark "Ich bin ein Berliner" (translated as I am a Berliner) and the crowd started laughing at him. But little did he know that in German, it's not the correct way to say what he meant. His statement actually meant that he is a "Berliner" (Berliner is a type of muffin cake). Just like you won't say, I am a Hamburger if you are from Hamburg because Hamburger is a, well, a burger :)

They are all gonna be on the long side Anna 😅 While Hong Kong cinema went for the tight 90, Indian cinema regularly passes 2hrs and often stretch to 3. Thankfully, there is often an intermission. For a more action comedy Bollywood movie - Dhoom. It's got a few solid sequels that keep shaking up the formula while they dip from movies like Entrapment and The Prestige (taking very specific elements from Western movies and building a script around them is an interesting Bollywood concept to explore).

You were wondering how the Indian education system was like, and the answer is that it's virtually the same as the American system. More about scores than learning, plus parents in the country used to prefer their kids choose fields that were mainstream and popular (engineering, doctors, lawyers, government jobs that give you a pension, and one or two more). It's only with the advent of the internet and the proliferation of smartphones and cheap internet prices (India has among the cheapest rates for calls, internet, etc) that more and more Indian kids are now finding other avenues, and the parents have also realized that there's a lot more you can do than just the mainstream stuff. I have a degree in electronics and telecommunications as well, but I've never actually used it in the 13 years that have passed since I graduated, as I got into writing about tech online. Anyway, this was an excellent react video, glad to see more and more people are seeing Bollywood movies. This came out in 2009 I think and I wept through many scenes (though they were mostly tears of joy). And this is a good time to watch Bollywood movies, as we've learned to be less cringey (movies like RRR don't count here, that's a different film industry that dials everything to 11 and is still doing very cringy stuff) over the last decade or so. Yes, we still have songs, and cringy stuff here and there, but when it comes to songs, I don't think Bollywood will ever stop doing them (and that's fine, because songs and music so integral to movies in India).
SARDAR UDHAM ( 2021) is the best bollywood movie ever made. IMDB 8.4. ROTTEN TOMATOES 94% Mark my words you will not forget this movie. It will break your stereotype regarding indian movies that they are only song and dance and fun. It will change your top 10 movie list of all times. THANK YOU Sister.
Money is just a system we chose to value things. Money, in itself, is not a problem The problem is that we quite often get confused between Money and Happiness. Money isn't a perfect parameter of value.. and value is not the only means to measure life. It is up to us to choose what we want to be measured by. This movie makes a great point, but at the end, it still reinforces the belief that success is based on measurable achievement. What if Wangdu was just a teacher, not a scientist, would he have failed compared with silencer? Despite all the lecturing, this movie just reinforces the myth that material success is the be all and end all. It is an enjoyable film with a deeply flawed narrative.
The Netflix translations are terrible, makes it seem like a name for non Hindi speakers. They could’ve translated Chhote to Junior or something to indicate it being a nickname.

It did succeed in highlighting a very serious problem in the Indian education system to many. Being a comedy made it more palatable. But it is still a huge problem and results in many unpublicised suicides. There are thousands of applicants for comparatively few positions. Rancho is actually rather heavily modelled on the real life scientist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk (Rancho's SKITSAL school is a direct tribute to Sonam's SECMOL), although the actual events depicted in the film are indeed fictional. Thankyou for allowing me to watch your reaction. I always end up crying whenever Rancho's nose fails to collide with Pia's. Must be all the dust in the air from the beach. As for future Asian movies let me say *Bajirao Mastani* (Indian epic doomed romance with lots of glitter and songs), *Along With The Gods: The Two Worlds* (Korean epic journey through the afterlife), and/or *Destiny: The Tale of Kamakura* (Japanese story of a modern mystery author [who helps the police with mystical mysteries] and his new wife). Oh and your niece should also look hard at the current state of the US animation and CGI SFX industry before making her decision. It is currently under a lot of financial pressure and that pressure is often falling on the animators in terms of excessive crunch (overwork for underpay). And new advances in generative AI will be changing things rapidly (the new graphical antagonistic neural nets are astounding at what they can do), means the whole field is going to be changing extremely rapidly. [Do what you love, but I know a lot of people in this situation have learned to hate what they used to love as a result.]
