- In today's video, I drain the mud water out of my backyard pond to see what we can find living in it after YEARS of putting fish in! We ended up finding TONS of rare fish like fire eels, redtail catfish, koi, goldfish, cichlids, albino alien fish, freshwater sharks, AND MORE! After draining the whole pond and finding so many cool fish, we moved most of the fish to my other ponds and aquariums, and kept the mini predatory fish in the front pond to grow into MONSTERS! We also fed my monster catfish and arowanas! What should we put in the backyard pond now?

I would love to see you move all the koi and goldfish in one pond, maybe even with the cichlids. I think that would be super colorful and cool. Also I think that should be a mini grow out pond. And Bruce gotta be with the other Oscars ofc. :)

Have you ever thought of a spreadsheet with what is in your Koi pond? When you add something new you can update the list. It would be cool to know what is in each pond.

Adult shovelnose catfish get over 3 feet in captivity, so you might need to consider moving them to the bigger pond when they get older!

Start with a log book for each pond to keep account of when and where you caught each fish. Then you can look back years from now and check on them in your ponds and know approximately how old they made be and what fish are in each pond and how many there are.

You should be keeping a spread sheet or journal for each pond. That way you do know what is in each pond.

You all should convert the pool into the largest fish pond, so you can allow one pond specifically for little fish only, and one for their larger stages, and one for full grown

Can you share a video of your pond when it clears up? Would really like to see it done and crystal clear. Also I would love to see a step by step of how to make your own pond filtration system. I have about a 1000 gallon pond that never stays clear so I'd love to learn to build a better DIY filter.

Definitely would like to see a planted tank for the fire eels and see how they eat and what they eat. The first bristle nose was the female, the second was the male. The Bichir I believe was caught one of the canals? First time I ever saw a pond being redone. Amazing amount of work but so worth it. Hope we get to see it when it is clear again. Well done.

Bristle nose plecos like breeding in caves.
Cut some 1.5" PVC to about 6" and put a cap on one end and drop them in. Don't like the look spray paint them dark brown or black with krylon paint you'll have them breeding in no time.

Just remember that there is almost nobody that will take them when they get to 4+feet. So be prepared to make them suited habitats!
