Awesome, I will have to use this drill on my stallion to make him more productive in his turns. Sometimes they are too tight, sometimes too wide. I am certain this will help his form! :)
Hi Fallon I need a little help with my horse on turns. We start the turn but don't finish it we make a semi tight circle then a semi large circle but this video totally helped!

Do you have any drills for the rider to improve on balance and to help not bounce so much and sit in ur seat
Sydney Warner Drop your stirrups and do 40meter circles. Don't focus on your horses speed or direction too much as long as they are loping. Focus on your seat and keep your reins forward. Make sure you're using your leg muscle cuz that's what keeps you in the saddle
ride bareback that is all a bought balance, dont even have to go fast just trotting or some circles

Can you use this drill with poles too? My horse does barrel turns really well but on poles one of the end poles is super wide.

What if you don't know how to do teeny tiny barrel turns?
what are some drills to get your horse working on their hind end? my horse, every time we lope the pattern (even a slow Lope) around second he falls flat over. I've had him vet checked and chiro... he just is unbalanced and isn't engaging his hind end
Try trotting the pattern standing up and when you get to your pocket, sit stop and back up for all three barells. You are probably going to have to do this a lot.

What would you do about a horse that is choppy and swings his butt out on first barrel? He also gets his chest right in front of it and it gets so choppy and bad

rambo_ rides a good drill or that it to go at it at a working trot then when your approaching the barrel don't turn until the back of the skirt of your saddle passes the barrel just make shore to run straight passed the barrel,then turn once the back of the skirt of your saddle passes the barrel and do these in a figure 8 pattern with the barrels

you're going too want too basically re-train her. start out reasonably wide. then after she learns to go a little wider, then start to slim it down. remember. walk, trot, lope. never completely run them until competition. :) hope it helps! let me know how it goes.
rambo_ rides Try making him jump the barrels some horse are scared of the barrels and try to get around as fast as possible and end up hitting the barrel
