I worked on the Gameboy Advance version (in Namco Museum). It had a couple of hacks because the arcade source I ported from was for the Japanese version and we wanted to use the US graphics. I have some lookup logic in the sprite drawing routines that switch pages and objects so that the graphics work properly (also, I had to return early without drawing when the game logic requests to draw the additional banner that's in the Japanese version). The other hack was with the horizon graphics. In the arcade version they are drawn one character at a time and this is too slow for the GBA, so I put them all in a single sprite (wide) and I shift it's position based on the game logic. It's not easy to tell, but you would see it if you dumped the cart. I solved the scrolling maps in PacMania on the GBA in a similar way.

I actually happen to have a cartridge of Pac-Man Collection. It's really fun, especially Pac-Man Arrangement. However, why is the music in Pac-Mania sound like it's been chopped in half? Could you not put in the other bits?

The "But Clyde!" signs you saw in the GBA, N64, PS1, and 50th Anniversary footages are based on a scene in an episode of a Pac-Man TV series that aired in the western half of the world during the 1980s.

Bandai Namco needs to give Pole Position the Daytona Championship USA 3 treatment by not just offering more tracks based on real F1 circuits like Spa Francorchamps, Monza, Sepang, etc. but also allowing players race with custom race cars from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s

The BBC Micro version is surprisingly performant, compared to ZX Spectrum. I think that's at the cost of half-height sprites and identical cars. Same goes for the Vic-20. Even the 2600 looked and played better. It's too bad no one attempted the digitized speech until the Windows version.I would have thought at least the MSDOS would have it.

Do you want it in a WAV format for a system sound or something ? Or an MP3 format. Because I can get it for you if you like.

The gameplay on the C64 version of Pole Position was pretty solid,
although the graphics could have been better done. The vic 20 version
really impressed me considering the system couldn't do sprites.

Pathetic that only the PS1 got the authentic voices. Dream cast could have supported the original voice, and it's just... wrong... in the 50th anniversary edition. As southern as the voice sounds in that version, they'd better be racing in Daytona!

Pole Position II, you got 4 tracks to choose from: Fuji, not Indianapolis, Suzuka, and not Long Beach. You definitely know this game is made by Japanese nationalists.
