Beautiful car, nothing finer than an original 427 side oiler. The sound of the motor is music to the ears.
It isn't original, because not a single Mustang was ever equipped with a 427.
@@AtropalArbaal-dk8jv It's not a Mustang.
Think I'd rather have 427 SOHC.
This is a real mussel car, no turbo, no computer controls… pure Horsepower, the kids today couldn’t even adjust the valves or set the carburetor! Us old racing guys know how to set these cars up! 0:15
That sound is pure heaven
American muscle at its finest, long live the '60's...!
Nothing sounds like the FE. They are the fire and brimstone. I built a 410 honed to a 413 4 speed 67 Mustang. It sounded like that. I had the same cam and regular iron heads with 2.11/1.6 valves, 2x4v aluminum MR intake and header’s. It was the bully in 1976. If we keep building them we can experience the rush for a fraction of the price. Vic Edelbrock said that the most popular aluminum heads and intake they sold were the FE. They tried improving the Ford design and they found that Ford had it right. His parts took 150 lbs off the nose most of it was the intake. I will always love the FE. The Windsor 427 they are trying to sell is a pittance to the even a 390. They can make 600 hp with ease and live. Go to an NHRA meet. You will find C and D stock 390 and 428s still winning and 427s in A stock. American to the bone!
I’ve got 4 ‘67 side oilers. Ultimate combo
Oh my god, I know it's not original, but it's perfect. This is how they should've been made. You out did yourself again. Man, you really come up with some really great cars. I love watching this channel just to see what you come up with next.
@@jamesglass4797 haha thank you. Always try to find some great cars.
@AmericanMustangs you say steel framed hood and trunk deck, the rest still fiberglass?
Absolutely beautiful car. If i was rich i would buy it in a heartbeat. '67 GT500 has gotta be the most beautiful car ever
Super chop. Who needs a radio
I used own that car back in the early eighties! When I sold it it needed new floor pans. It still had the factory 428. I rebuilt the heads and the second owner rebuilt the short block. Nice to see it again.
Wow!
Did the cowl leak in to the floor?
@@freakindawgen I had a 68 Coupe in the 90s and the cowl stacks rotted around the bottom and rotted away the floor. I had to fiberglass seal the cowl and replace the pans and it was an early 68 with the 289. There was only one torque box only the convertible had two so I made them as a pair and it really stiffened up the car.
@Bbbbad724 Ford screwed up and painted that area thru the cowl vents. The parts out of sight never got paint. Leaves and crap gets in there, gets wet, rotts it out. They have replacement pans now, but have to take the vent panel off.
@@freakindawgen and you have a hard time getting it all out. They didn’t make replacements for the stacks, so I had to salvage these. I blew out all of the leaves and junk. Sprayed Acetone all around. I am glad I am double jointed. I wiped and and sprayed until clean on both sides.. then cut fiberglass cloth for each side with a band to go around and join the floor cloth. Getting resin all around both sides was a mess, but after it set it showed a light in and looked for pin holes. Then brushed Corroless Bridge paint three coats and used light and finished with black. I cut the pans out of another car and made a torque box for the side that didn’t have one. The convertible was the only one that had two in front. But with a roll bar. I made a solid triangle one piece cowl brace that was like the stock thicker gauge bar and a Monte Carlo bar with twin front shocks.
Beautiful !! Now all I need is the 200 grand...
That’s a nasty 427😍😍😍😍😍😍
That really takes me back, I had two new GT500s in 67, one early with inboards and a late one with outboards and a factory louvered hood (I never saw another 67 with a louvered hood). They were definitely the best looking Shelbys ever, and great fun to drive. Both were 4 speed cars, of course. If i hadn't lost my left leg a few years ago I would turn heaven and earth to buy this one, but I can't reliably operate a clutch anymore. Somebody is going to get an exciting car!
Very cool! Thanks for watching. It is a sweet car.
I can't live without this car😢😢😢
Come get it
it's very difficult😢😢😢@@AmericanMustangs
Impressive. Who needs a radio with that V8 muscle sound?
Looks and sounds great! U guys nailed it on this Shelby
it is the most beautiful car in the world😢😢😍😍😍😍😍😍
That's sick
What a sweet looking Mustang! Love the paint and that engine!! Just subscribed. Love the video. Thanks for posting!
Beautiful early slanted grill car with….chrome headlight rings?….Interesting. AND it has the ultimate motor!😮 Would really hurt my retirement investment’s! Guess I could sleep in it!😊
Wow what a beast !!!
I still own an original 67 Shelby GT 500, California, rust free car, signed by Shelby himself in the early 1990's. My dad purchase it in 1986, passed in 2002.
RIP dad, and Thank you.
Got a ride in a 67 GT 500 side oiler brittany blue white interior back around 1979. Back East in Thompson Ct.
Was it Larry Bartons car? I rode in it one night also.
Very nice!
That is absolutely the one we'd want. 👍

Great car
the car of my dream that will never come true😢😢😢
What a beauty
Awesome!
Love Mustang Car 🐎 👋🤗🤗🤗
Gorgeous, i would have a hard time selling all the Mustangs you have had. There isn't a Shelby you haven't owned, except may Jim Morrisons
Yeah I wish I could find it lol
It's my big dream in life to own this car, it's a pity that this dream will remain😢😢😢
you are the luckiest man in the world to have such a mustang😢😢😢
Yes, the guy I sold it to had a brother who owned a body shop and they fixed it. It was later sold to a man in Connecticut I believe. He called me about the car. At that time it still had the original 428 motor in it.
So, if, what you're saying is true this guy lied in parts of his video and, not sure but... the asking price is toooo much! Would like to know cause I was thinking about getting a car off of him in the future and lying for me is a serious deal breaker!
First thing I think of when seeing these old cars looking like this right now. What did it look like in 1978???
If it was green with tunnel port heads and a high rise manifold, THEN it would be perfect.
It is just an FE. Drove a super Stocker that would blow it off the track
Probably just me, but I hate it when these blokes cold start engines and then immediately rev the shit out of them.
Agreed. Each time, they're reducing the life of the engine by several thousand miles.
So how many of these cars r stil around how many r not accounted for
looks clean, sounds mean
Yes the the floor plans were replaced. The seller is wrong.
Those grille mounted headlamps must really cut down on airflow through the radiator. Were they known to contribute to over heating ?
The early 1967 Shelby's had the inboard high beams. There were some overheating problems, primarily with GT500s with factory air conditioning, mostly in desert areas, like Arizona. That is why they went to the outboard high beams in the later cars. I had two 67 GT500s when they were new, an early one with the inboards, and it would sometimes o
verheat here in Phoenix, and a very late one with the outboards and a louvered hood (factory), which never overheated. Wish I had kept them. BTW, the inboard cars had frequent problems with the headlight relays when they were new, and I would often be driving at night and the headlights would go off, come back on, or start flashing between low and high beams, all at a rapid pace. I experienced that with several 67 Shelby's back then, and, IIRC, most or all were inboard cars, but I'm not certain of that.
I believe in some states center high beams were not legal for street use. Therefore, they were moved outward. I still have an early , numbers matching 67 Shelby GT 500. It has inboard high beams.
Lot money there son
That's got be fast shit powerhouse im mopor guy that the answer to hemi lighter car too
Its cool because its not a f loud and shitty people think because ts loud its sounds goodfast not the case
Rear bumper looks bent upward
I'll take an all black convertible with the two mat-black stripes, plz.... just give me some time to make that kind of money/ 💔
I guess you might get something “extra” for the $200k?
You know to know the 67 Shelby market. It’s priced very fair.
A monster
So, it’s not a numbers matching car.
@@tomhorner1612 no. Car has been sold and the buyer loves the 427.
