Yeah, a grip on how people should pay more attention to how Detective Manny Pardo is keeping our streets clean and working on finding that Miami Mutilator
@@straightMKchamp I mean, for me bottom line as far as videogames go is whether I'm having fun with them, which is why I play them. I had a blast with the first game, but not the second one.
Few things to expect from every Gman video: -It's about an FPS game (90% of the time anyway) -Mom joke -Ovah and ovah -All that kinda SHEEEAAAT -Sonny Jim -Your parents didn't love you -You're dead to me -Fucking ludicrous.
Played it for 30 hours according to steam, currently just playing the game to discover different paths and also send suggestions/bugs/exploits to the dev team. The game has a lot of potential, I think that the core gameplay can be very fun, hopefully in a year the game is going to be even better than as of right now.
I for one am very happy you are still uploading videos. You are making the Covid Crisis much better for me and lots of others. Keep up the great works!
Hey Gman I wanted to say you are for sure my favorite reviewer. I also wanted to thank you for playing and reviewing the games on hard or above. I almost never play on normal or easy. Thanks again Sonny Jim!
1:05 Jacket wasn’t a retired hit man he was in what was basically a suicide squadron in Hawaii taking orders to do missions that were seemingly impossible.
i agree, i wish they went for a more build engine sprite graphics look instead. its obvious that they wanted to keep the hotline miami artstyle in first person but it just does not look well on the enemy as well as the player sprites.
There's tutorials to do Doom-style NPCs on Unity out there, it's not hard to find. The Hotline Miami inspiration is obvious, here, but I agree that the skeletal animation looks very amateurish.
Damnit Gman! First Dusk, then Amid Evil, then Project Warlock, then ULTRA KILL, now Project Downfall! You're by far my favorite gaming UA-camr, and get me into these amazing games!!
I always wanted to see a stylized FPS game with 2D characters set in fully lit/rendered 3D environments (using modern graphics I mean). Definitely considering checking it out!
I like that the choices seem inconsequential in the moment. It's a bit like reality in that it gives you a more natural outcome as everyone would make different decisions.
I feel like if you took pills and you could see enemies through walls like an x-ray scan for a split second every 5-10 seconds , it would make getting flanked less annoying and you could plan out kill routes like hotline miami. Then they can make weapons more accurate because you're hunting not camping.
I tried the demo of this and I bounced pretty hard off it. Unlike Hotline Miami, which looks equally trippy and weird... those aesthetics never get in the way of the gameplay. This game has no such reservations, you can barely tell what your looking at half the time.
A LOT of defining aesthetics are 1:1 with Hotline Miami FOR SURE. It even says 'GO!' when you clear a room, heh. Your comparisons in the intro were good.
@@alangeorge5592 or he'll see it, and ignore it for being just another person going "do this, if you don't it's because you didn't get to see my comment"
@@22freedom33 The game is genuinely great and mops the floor with later hack and smash titles, including the overblown Dark Souls despite being 20 years old.
These Doom-style mugs, showing the direction the damage comes from and state of the character, are such a damn nice tradition, just like pop up headlamps in cars. I've been staring at the mug in the upper left corner of the screen the whole review.
“Your crosshair doesn’t always indicate where you are going to hit, oftentimes the bullet goes veering off to the side!” There is a guy on my bullseye team that shoots exactly like that. How realistic!
The death scream sounds like the dude in that 60s video where the lady keeps shooting that dude in slow motion, and it uses the same scream every time as he dramatically flails around.
(G)MAN! Thanks a lot for what you're doing! Thanks to you I got so many cool MODs/Games to play. I thought oldschool is dead, but OMG, it's not, it's fit and ready to kick bubble gum.
How does anyone get annoyed by your comparisons? It gives the viewer valuable information about what they might expect if they try these games. I actually desperately want to try this game because of the title of this video, as I LOVE Hotline Miami dearly. So, keep it up!
I got this game on sale back in the steam summer sale. I first heard about it from a tweet you made, and I was instantly om board as I love Hotline Miami. But my laptop isn't the best, so I had to turn down a lot of the graphical settings and such to get at least an average of 25 FPS. That, combined with the visual effects almost made me throw up and gave me a headache worse than when I watched the Anthem trailer for the first time. I'm hoping that most of these issues can be smoothed out in the future and look forward to seeing the game exit early access and become the lovechild of retro FPS games and Hotline Miami.
Talking about Hotline Miami, I'm currently trying out and having quite some fun with an indie russian game called "Police Stories" which was released one year ago. The game is basically Hotline Miami + Swat 4 with an AI buddy or 2P coop. While not being a masterpiece, the Police Stories has interesting tactical shooter mechanics and shouldn't take you to long to review considering its poor length.
The models and everything look great but I can't help but think how fun 3d ragdolls would be, or go full blown hotline miami and have brutal/mangled death poses and skull crushing melee finishers. The inspiration is clear, from visuals, narrative, and gameplay loop and I couldn't be happier that hotline miami is starting to inspire new games. If anger foot had the visuals, music, and narrative of this game that would be the perfect fps hotline miami imo
It is possible to finish the game without any pills at all, only the one at the beginning you're required to do so. I've finished the game myself without any pills
Yes gman let’s put a giant immersion breaking warning on the screen to tell the player there at a pivotal choice in the game. The best games to do branching story paths don’t even tell you which can make a sweet surprise for replays.
While I usually agree with giving the player more info, there is an argument to be made that if you aren't told when your decisions have consequences, you treat all your decisions like they have consequences. I think this was mentioned in an interview about the Sorcery games.
Hey guys, you can grab the game here if you're interested:

Dude in the top left is acquiring a grip
Gotta get a grip

Error 404 : Goddamn grip not found
hello, grip?
Hehe
This looks like a fake game you’d see in the TV show when they’re showing a gamer playing something super violet
Yeah, or even ultra violet!
yes
I know and i love it
In the best way possible, yes
Or duck hunt
"Enemies you couldn't possibly have seen will kill you."
So it's not Hotline Miami, it's Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, gotcha.
I ended up uninstalling Hotline Miami 2 a couple levels in due to this.

Damn Tom Savini is kicking some ass.
He always could! And he didn’t need a PP Gun! 🤣
Tom Savini having Vietnam flashbacks be like
