Charile and Lola was one of my favorite cartoons growing up as a kid it always had this very peaceful and calming vibe to it. I kinda see the show as a British version of Peanuts in a way because of the parents never been seen but are only mentioned. Also fun fact they were based on books of the same name created and illustrated by Lauren Child, I use to own a handful of them way back when. I even went to a art exhibition many years ago showing the original artwork from the books being all mixed media and even the same with there other works too.
Overall the art style and aesthetic of the cartoon and books and overall Lauren's work was a big inspiration to younger me. c:

Rob Renzetti (the creator of My Life As A Teenage Robot) actually wanted to do another season, which he never got to do due to Nickelodeon thinking the show wasn't getting the viewership they wanted.
Also, the "creepy" tones some/most episodes have is because Rob is quite the horror fanatic.
He wanted to do a third part for the human skin thing, but Nickelodeon said no, because the idea was too dark for a kids show. (Basically, the suit would kidnap Brad and force Jenny to choose between saving Brad from dying or put on the suit herself to be a "real human girl")

Definitely a little older when these shows came out. I was right at that late 90’s early 2000’s cusp and I definitely recall bangers. Rugrats is like my fave (Chucky and I as a kid were one in the same and his color palette is all my favorite colors), All Grown Up is a banger too (Susie getting scammed for a recording contract was a great episode), Phil Of The Future (it came out between That’s So Raven and Suite Life (another banger, but I’m going for the less known shows) and not only were Brenda Song and AHS’ Evan Peters as side characters, but had a sassy, snarky antihero character that is so underrated named Pim who definitely should be Y2K’s revival hero), and I definitely wanted to add Regular Show, because I was an adult when I watched it, which I thought it’d be bad, because the humor is so annoying, but the fact they make the situations on that show really fun, it really made me like it.

Maybe I'm a bit biased since I always wanted to be a musician since I was little lol, but for shows like The Backyardigans, Bear in the Big Blue House, Little Einsteins, The Wonder Pets, etc, the lessons always seemed more unique and memorable when the crew put effort into the fun songs that helped you remember them.

Honestly Ocean Girl walked so H2O could run. Here in Germany we often got older series later, because the liscences were cheaper and the dub took its time. So Ocean Girl was an Australian series from the late 90s that aired here in the early 2000s. It‘s about this mysterious girl that can breathe underwater and communicate with a whale. Then there‘s kids in some type of nature preservation science thingie and of course old, evil scientists. It‘s a wild ride. Think mermaids, but not really, but eco politics, but not really, but aliens, but not really. It was amazing.

I was a young child in the '90s, so by the time most of the shows you talked about were airing I was already a teen who had grown out of watching stuff targeted at small children, but I do agree that TV for kids these days just isn't the same. Every now and then gems come out in the world of western animation like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic or Adventure Time, but from what I can tell most cartoons these days are trash 😑 ... I'll just stick to anime and Invader ZiM 😂 . As for live-action, OH GOD NO. '90s and '00s Nick shows were far superior, even though Dan Schneider deserves to be locked up for life 😑 .

this is a bit of a rant but i wanted to get it out there especially on the topic.
being born at the *very* end of the 2000s, AND living in europe (i believe the stations were a bit behind/mixed where i lived,) i grew up with the strange hybrid mix of 2000s shows and early-2010s shows. i had little einsteins at the same time as doc mcstuffins, barney at the same time as sofia the first, wonderpets at the same time as team umizoomi, and so many more. apparently fireman sam started airing in 1989 and i watched that; so thats fun.
it gets so confusing and honestly annoying when people on social media make those posts like 'kids born after 2007 wouldnt understand' then its a list of shows i have definitely watched, or at the very least was airing when i was younger.
i definitely agree that 2000s-early 2010s are 100% more educational for kids; because jesus christ what is cocomelon? that is acid for babies, and bleach to my ears LOL. i heard somewhere that it literally messes up how children learn to speak. can guarantee you no shows from before 2019 were like that 💀

As someone born in the mid 2000s, I relate to watching Gumball and Regular Show as a kid more than I do with shows as retro as Jimmy Neutron and Teenage Robot (despite them still airing reruns on Nicktoons as a kid, as well as Boomerang airing older CN shows) or more recent ones like Molly McGee and Hailey's On It. The era I grew up in is kind of hard to explain because I played Minecraft & Club Penguin instead of Runescape nor Fortnite, and I also owned the pre-movie SpongeBob episodes on DVD as a kid. To me, Regular Show (as well as OK KO) will always be peak entertainment in my eyes, and that's not just the nostalgia, it's genuinely good. It's just that it's so good that I can't really seem to get into newer shows all that much. They're not that fun. Also, I sometimes gets jealous of 90s/00s kids for growing up with better stuff, but what they didn't grow up with is the internet being accessible to not just computers, but phones and tablets as well. I watched Noggin, Playhouse Disney, and PBS Kids at an early age, but never Cocomelon. I'm sort of a strange blend of being a 2000s kid and a 2010s kid, except that I lean more towards the 2010s since I remember that decade more. I have an idea of what the 90s/00s were like, but never actually experienced them, either because I wasn't born yet, or I was too young. I even played PS2, DS, Xbox 360, PS3, and 3DS games as a kid, along with some flash games that were on websites that were for kids channels such as the Hub Network. I'm too young to relate to Toon Disney and Jetix. It's just too bad that the 2010s will be remembered for terrible shows like Teen Titans Go!, Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil, and The Loud House. But on a positive note, It had Gravity Falls.
