As far as I know, you use BETWEEN when you are referring or comparing two things. Of the other side, the use AMONG is when you are referring or comparing three things or more. If you want to be sure, you can double check with English Grammar Rules.
I am an English teacher who looooves teaching phrasal verbs, I even made a podcast all about them. But I learned so much about them from you! Like right now, I'm just here refreshing my phrasal verb basics with you, because you really do it best!
I interpret the 'up' in the phrasals: eat up, break up, get up, look up, etc., as giving a sense of fully completing an action or process. Anyone else see this?
Great, I do like this channel. I have watched all videos, everyday I download the videos, for me watch in the morning when I'm going to my school, because it takes me about 30 minutes to get there, so I' can't waste my time. I'll improve my english! Thanks teacher... By: your new fan student!
I'm very lucky to find a such good English teacher! Great explanation and thanks for the list and exercices ! I will keep looking forward for your videos!
👉 Hi Christian! @Canguro English, are you sure that "reading" 07:04 is an object? How come? I thought "to go" was an intransitive verb. When you say, "They went on strike to demand proper health measures," you cannot replace "strike" with a direct object pronoun (e.g. "They went on it") . I believed stative verbs, also known as verbs of feeling (and certain action verbs (also called dynamic verbs)) , were likely to take gerunds as their objects.
thanks for the class!!! there is something I've found strange....maquillarse? isn't it do make-up? use make-up, apply make-up... I've never heard "make up" with that meaning before, only as a noun (with the hyphen)
Hi guys! Can someone access the link(ist of the most common phrasal verbs), because it is not available to me .... I know I'm a little late :) Thanks in advance and thanks for the videos !!!!
Actually Christian, I think I am going to contact you about literature / book recommendations. I've studied a bit about cognitive linguistics, but I'm wondering about the best summaries about the history of English, or anything else that would help in deeply understanding and teaching phrasal verbs.
Istn't it that you decide to put the object in the middle or at the end if you want to lay weight on a special part of the sentence? Like if it is clear that we talk about my sister, but the question is what I should do to her, I would say "I pick my sister up", but if picking up is clear and the question is whoom, I would say "I pick up my sister."
Download a list of the most common phrasal verbs in English here: drive.google.com/file/d/1D7FzUEYfiRnYRovv0nRXd9BOBxxJqswH/view My advice: look at pages 18-22 section: appendices.
hello my Teacher all the videos of phrasal verbs of you have professional perspective, but I dont know how that could be better than as in now because I was not exactly able to match some examples that you tell us with what my intellect is, I think my imagination might be weak or my perception of 3D might be weak , also my teacher I m confused about ''preposition +wh clauses '' for example like '' through which about which, for what '' you know there is a preposition +wh clause at the begining or middle of the sentence especially while I was trying to understand these sentences ,they make me force , could you help me with this because I would like to understand those sentences easily and quickly thank you for excellent videos and for you
Hello again Christian! I've just realized that you're talking faster to us, yours students. And also realized I am understanding you better. I just got happy to notice this too! Thank you for your effort always helping us. So happy for canguru exist! Whish you a merry Christmas and gorgeous NY...

Great job. I Know that you rarely answer the questions in the comments but it would be very appreciated if you could say me somewhere to practice my speaking without paying, thanks in advance.
It is excellent to me see this video, because I really thought the native use thousand of phrasal verbs in daily conversation and now I learned there was this 100 more common. Thankful for discovery this.
I really enjoyed this lesson. The only thing should be changed is not use a Spanish words,. Although Spanish is my language it's not fair for student from different ones.
Dear Christian, when we can find listed the first and more used phrasal verbs? Thanks in advance. PS: this is another great video. I am sure l will watch it more times.
Its good to see an empty Vegemite bottle recycled as a pencil case in front of you! I also love Vegemite! Actually its my acquired appetite since i came back first after my new year's trip to Australia lol. So beautiful country!! I m a big fan of Aussy style!!
Christian! You're one of the best teacher that i've had! With you, i specially learned how to find their meanings out. Loving you From Dominican Republic. Peace.
Thank you very much for your work! I like the way you explain things. Your videos are always motivating and positiv. I believe I am getting much better at English.
well sir great and indeed magnificent streneous effort you ve made BUT here is a problem with me that i cant remember phrasal verbs would you please help me regarding this
Nice, great tips! Phrasal verbs really are so important. I try to teach them to my students every day because I think it is one of the best ways for English students to develop more advanced English. I've been making videos and writing an e-book about ways to learn new phrasal verbs, and this video is also really helpful.
Hi Gerson! 'Take for granted' has two meaning and I will use the definitions from the OED for you: 1) Fail to properly appreciate (someone or something), especially as a result of overfamiliarity: ‘the comforts that people take for granted’ 2) (take SOMETHING for granted) Assume that something is true without questioning it: ‘George had taken it for granted that they'd get married’ I hope that helps!
Thank you so much. It's good to know that there's some kind of order to the nonsensical phrasal verbs. For spanish speakers, phrasal verbs are difficult to grasp. I've tried so hard, and the only phrasal-verb-like expression I could find was "venir abajo" as in "el edificio de vino abajo (se derrumbó)" I remember one of the first times i heard some phrasal verbs was the verb "print out". I had to hand in a paper but had it in a flashdrive. My teacher told me that I had to print it out. I immediately walked out of the classroom trying to find some printers right outside. I found none. By the way, is there any rule of thumb that gives you a broad idea of what the prepositions could mean? Some kind of educated guess? For example, I've heard people using UP as in getting or acquiring something: suit up or partner up. However, I don't know if we could generalize for most prepositions.
Hi Christian! My name is Liubov. I'm from Siberia (Russia). What's the point of using phrasal verbs. English language has so much verbs without doing this.
There isn't really a 'point', they have just evolved into existence due to the convoluted history of English! Love them or hate them, they are an important part of English!
Good morning teacher!!! I like your classes a lot!!! I would like to download the list but I can't do that... A pop up appears saying that the file has been removed from the site. Is it possible? Where can I download the file? Thank you so much for your explanation!!

Thank you.

I have a question.
Are phrasal verbs what we call them idioms or different?!!
An answer please.
