What a message! A different side of James Brown!
This particular song was NOT written by Mr. Brown. He did write the music, but the lyrics were written by Manny Rosen, the head delicatessen at the Stage Deli in NYC. This was released in 1972 it was a hit both on the pop charts and the R&B charts. Mr. Brown has been my favorite entertainer since I was 12 years old in 1968. I have over 100 of his albums and about 150 other singles, including others, people that he produced. 100 times in concert since 1971 until he passed away and I met him a few times so I really love this reaction and I hope you do many more James Brown reactions.
He’s also the forefather of modern hip hop . The rhyme scheme. His music is sampled more than any other artist.

Drugs have been a staple of destruction in this country, for decades not just the time in which this was recorded, people have overdosed and died for years from drug addiction, as it continues to this day, deaths and overdoses from drugs continue. Heroin is still being used, along with a list of addictive drugs, this is a song that simply explained the consequences of heroin and any other addictive drug………

No, you didn’t figure it out.😉 It IS a song, it was an actual single that came out in 1972. It went up the number 40 on the pop charts and number 6 on the r&b charts. The flipside of the single was just the music.
