Mariana Rahmasari Not really! He was forced to have it so, as he said, they would not call him fat boy... Now he is a slave to social expectation, and it is not his choice since he is tormented by established prejudice inflicted by the other, so that his ‘will’ is mobilized by a deep seated conflict, feeding into the complex of the ostracized that he can never be free to truly be himself.

@RJDA 0704 Honestly, look at the comments on a video on any network, especially the local ones, when a black person is involved with a crime.
They started calling blacks joggers because it rhymes with another word. Calling us savages. This has been getting worse by the minute. They purposely want to divide us by reporting the way they do. Regular people in return become radicalized and hateful when they see this.
Whether the media and politicians do it maliciously or to get ratings, people just blindly follow it.
Every civil rights movement was a joint effort of all races. They don't want us to revolt again. That's why they want us to hate each other.

Kanye was trying to say that your thoughts create your reality. He was trying to say that many black people always think about slavery and keep themselves locked down to their own thoughts. It's like living in a prison and it forces you to see things from a twisted perspective. If you feel like a slave, you'll still be a slave. It's your thoughts that create your reality.

I am the black community and I and many of my friends never heard of or know who Mr. West is. The black community is made up of many different individuals and voices. As a direct descendant of slaves whom were separated for over 50 years after slavery from day to day contact with whites I never heard my parents, grandparents or great grandparents speak negatively about any race of people. They ended up owning the very land upon which they were slaves in the great state of South Carolina (smile) where the great war started.

Kanye has made several remarks about slavery. African Americans, we are subordinated to society's toxic environment, but we do not have to conform to it. As a southern born country girl who grew up in an urban environment, I have avoided having children out of wedlock and have avoided unhealthy relationships. Despite my flaws, I have lost friends due to my intolerance for nonsense. African Americans are free to choose not to conform to society's toxic environment or be subordinated to it.

Dialog is a healthy thing when people with responsibility keep talking enough to help people talk to one another. Freedom of speech is our first amendment in this country and our only real form of protection when we say what we want to say. It is not about who agrees or disagrees about topics of discussion.

HONESTLY, I AGREE WITH KANYE WEST! AND THAT IS SOMETHING THAT I'D NEVER THOUGHT THAT I'D SAY! YOU HAVE TO REALLY LISTEN. EVEN THE GUY THAT WANTED TO BE KING IN THE MOVIE WAKANDA SUBLIMINALLY SAID THE SAME THING, HE SAID "MY ANCESTORS EVEN KNEW THAT DEATH WAS BETTER THAN BONDAGE". LOTS OF FOLK BACK THEN CHOSE TO STAY AT THE PLANTATION BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T REALLY HAVE OPTIONS. THE SLAVES WHO WERE SET FREE BY THEIR MASTERS, DIDN'T HAVE ANYWHERE TO GO AFTER LEAVING THE PLANTATION, NO MONEY, FAMILY, ECT. SO THEY FELT LIKE, WELL I HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD HERE, AND I AM GETTING FED DAILY SO I WILL STAY DESPITE THE BEATINGS! AND OTHERS SAID I'D RATHER DIE THAN TO LIVE THIS WAY, AND ATTEMPTED TO ESCAPE AND OFTEN TIMES WERE CAPTURED AND CAUGHT. OTHERS THAT WITNESSED THAT, KNEW THE CONSEQUENCES IF THEY TRIED IT. SO YES, SOME PEOPLE DID CHOOSE SLAVERY. HOWEVER.....MOST OF THEM DID BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE AND WOULDN'T DARE COMMIT SUICIDE! THIS IS THE QUICKEST WAY THAT I CAN BREAK THIS DOWN SO THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE WHAT I THINK KANYE WAS TRYING TO EXPRESS....

Benas. LOL against free speech? of course not! Its simply a matter of convenience. How do you argue/debate/discuss with someone who knows only a quarter of what you know? How could he think freely if there is nothing there to begin with? Why waste my time?

Slavery was abolished in 1865. Most European immigrants arrived in America between 1880 to 1920. This means that most white Americans ancestors were not slave owners. Furthermore, many slave masters fathered children with their black slaves, so many black Americans actually carry the DNA genes of the white masters! Ancestry.Com actually recreated the painting of the Declaration of Independence with the Founding Fathers' Descendants and many of them were "black"!
