I know that this comment is from five years ago so you have probably figured it out. I just wanted to point out that you don’t have to do a magic ring. I have never made a magic ring and I have crocheted hundreds of granny squares. I just chain 3, make a loop and work into the small loop. No need for a magic ring. I find them confusing and unnecessary.,
As a patchworker and huge fan of the half square triangle, this is genius! Now I can I crochet it too! Thanks so much!
