Remember where are incredibly oversimplified for the sake of a joke. If you level and build the characters and read through their lore on how they got their visions most of them are really interesting and make sense. There’s also connections between the characters events that get them their vision and the type of vision they received.
Yes u are actually right
TRIGGER WARNING: Death
Hu Tao's explanation was *really* simplified.
After her grandfather dies, she inherits the family business. This means that her first client was her grandfather. Filled with grief, she goes to the land of the dead to find her grandfather, but doesn't find him. This is because he had lived a fulfilling life and had crossed to the beyond after dying. Knowing this, Hu Tao's resolve becomes stronger than ever, and she continues the family business and philosophy.
This is why Hu Tao is always after Qiqi, and why Baizhu and Hu Tao are (somewhat) rivals.
Her backstory is in some of her battles lines - e.g. 'Cross... over!!'.
So basically:
Pyro - Passion to follow a dream
Cryo - Enduring a long ordeal
Anemo - Experiencing loss
Hydro - Acting selfless
Geo - being the pillar (get it?) of a community
Dendro - Pursuit of knowledge and independence
Electro - ? Showing great force of will?
Anemo - loss, of anything that will impact a character enough. Loss of a friend/family would logically hit the hardest which is why anemo is associated with dead friends. And after that loss the want to change or move on must also be present.
Geo - strong ambition to achieve something, steadfastness to a goal or trait (loyalty etc), or to be seen as the pinnacle/leader of an organisation, (not necessarily as part of them in Noelle’s case, but she embodies all the traits that ppl would assume that a knight should embody, like a strong desire to protect, loyalty and a desire to care for others)
Electro - the wish for themselves or for others to stay the same, inability to move on or change, or a stubborn goal, like a strong belief or conviction that is more selfish and self-fulfilling compared to other goals (it’s kinda similar to geo but without the leader part).
Hydro - obligation or responsibility, to have a duty that needs to be fulfilled
Pyro - passion for something, or a passing of the torch from a parental figure. The parental figure gave the character either a moral lesson, an item, a responsibility, or a belief. Passion for that specific lesson, item, responsibility or belief.
Dendro - a curiosity or thirst for knowledge, to know of the world or a specific topic. They are usually very giving/caring and tend to be quite selfless whether they realise it or not.
Cryo - contradiction whether within themselves or their circumstances
That’s what I’ve gleamed from comparing characters.
Loss does not always mean death, Jean mourns the loss of her family bonds. As her parents divorced when they were young and she was never able to build a sisterly relationship with Barbara. As for Lynette, when lyney and Lynette were on a mission, lyney almost died and Lynette got her vision just as she thought he had died.
There are a lot of overlap with some of the requirements. Electro, geo and pyro are pretty similar but still have specific details that make them differ. Geo has the character as the leader/pinnacle of an organisation. And pyro requires a parental figure to be involved. Electro requires neither. So anyone who does not fit the requirement traits for geo and pyro but still fits the goal/stubbornness traits would receive an electro vision.
Other possiblities:
Anemo- using free will or being freed
Electro- your ambition is related to something that will be a part of you for the rest of your life
Cryo- caring for others
hydro kaveh??? electro yelan???
All of these match their archons
Here's what I got out of it:
Cryo: the element of misfits; people with two contradictory sides, often in ironic ways. (ex: chongyun is an exorcist who cannot see spirits, wriothesley is a warden who was once a prisoner, shenhe is a human amongst adepti)
Hydro: characters given hydro visions are devout to a code or similar ruleset. they have a constant goal instead of a definitive start & end.
Anemo: characters given anemo visions are determined to help themselves when no one else will. they are self-reliant, and their metamorphosis as a person is ever-changing.
Pyro: the element of inheritors; those who have the torch passed on to them, carrying a legacy to the next generation, be it family, teacher or concept.
Electro: characters given electro visions reject reality and substitute their own. they're determined to live their lives in ways that defy the norm & expected course of action.
Dendro: the characters given dendro visions are self-sacrificial; they aid or provide a service to the people around them, or for a greater purpose in general.
Geo: people given geo visions are stubborn/resolute and (usually) have ambitious, and sometimes impossible goals.
21:44 fun fact when Yoimiya got her vision she didn’t even realize it was a Vision. She used it as a piece of flint then chucked it in the storage room at night. The next day her father reminded her of the importance of visions so she went back into the storage room to recover it.
MORAL OF THE STORY : IF THE CHARACTER IS TRASHED, THE CHARACTER HAS A GREAT VISION STORY BUT THE BEST CHARACTER GETS THE WORST STORY
Omg true 😂😂
Beidou isn't trash though
Furina: Nah I'd Win 🗣️🔥
balance is saved
Lisa is such a genius, when she says she wants a Vision, the gods immediately say yes.
I mean, maybe the gods like her booby and their boob physics.. (don't ask why I wrote this)
Can you blame them even the gods be simping
Ei:....Eh she's pretty so why not?
Fischl was really:I M A G I N A T I O N😭
Delulu is the solulu.
It is and we love her for it.
8:25 it’s ambition. Visions are given to those with strong ambitions
I believe it's explained in Jean's voiceline about Noelle that Noelle is strong enough to be a knight but she's to naive. Jean keeps rejecting Noelle's knighthood so she doesn't get killed for showing mercy
Imagine Hoyoverse released a short trailer video about the story of each character on how they got their vision.
That would literally will blow my mind.
Ayakas 2nd trailer is like that. We just dint see the vision at the end.
@@JD-ml4io I forgot about that, but imagine watching the video of all of the characters getting their vision, especially witnessing their vision appearing in front of them
They did it with Ayaka, i rlly wish they do it for other character's as well man
@@africkinintrovert4041 yeah
That kaeya trailer would hit HARD
I don’t remember about the rest, but at this point it’s pretty much confirmed that you get a pyro vision if you have some story with your dad and their heritage, like think about it. Hu Tao and her funeral parlor, Xiangling and her running a restaurant with her dad, Deluc inheriting the winery from his dad, Yoimiya and her dad crating fireworks, Gaming and his story focusing around his relationships with his dad, Bennet and his dads, Chevreuse mentioned her dad and the training he put her through. Basically any pyro character, even Arleccino is a proof of this theory. Pretty fascinating 🔥
To be fair, I don't think it's about their parents but rather the passion that they all share. Thoma was loyal and decided to stay with the Kamisato Clan for example, although they couldn't offer anything in turn. Diluc wanted to make his father proud at an earliey age (he was 10 when he got the vision, we just don't know how exactly). Hu Tao was passionate about her role as funeral director and the living/dead. Xiangling is passionate about cooking. Bennett is passionate about his adventures. Arlecchino is passionate about her oprhanage. Gaming is passionate about his role as a lion dancer and guard.
Visions are directly tied to ambitions after all.
BUT it is funny that all their stories resolve around fathers mostly, lmao. Even Deyha and Yanfei tie into that-
7:24 as a Hu Tao main, I feel obligated to tell you that she got stranded in the land between living and deceased, nearly killing her.
What should also be noted with Heizou is said friend literally died in his arms….I actually cried a little reading that-
I'm more inclined to believe Neuvillette knows who is getting a Vision from him. We are told by Ei that Archons do not choose who gets a vision and Neuvi's profile stories confirm how Celestia's vision-granting system works. Whenever a person's wishes reaches the heavens (presumablu Celestia itself), the Archons are duty-bound to grant them a gift (a Vision). The Archons may not know who recieves that Vision but they are obligated by this system to share a part of their mastery to them.
Then it directly says: "Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them."
Neuvi basically said "Hey, Imma do the same" but he is in full control of the entire process of the Hydro Vision granting, because the Hydro Archon throne is no more. Celestia is not involved anymore. I'm sure he knows who is getting the vision and decides who does himself.
All these stories may seem random and don't tell us how you get a vision. But, I think this is a good way of explaining how people find their dreams/ambitions.
Sometimes a life changing even changes us, giving us a dream or ambition to chase. For other people, they can just be living their life and realize their purpose in the quiet moments of their everyday routine.
What separates the vision holders from normal people is their will. Vision holders no matter how timid they may seen, have the sheer will to risk their everything to pursue/protect their ambition. Vision holders are prepared to go through any and all obstacles for their ambition/dreams/ideals. Giving up is not an option.
18:22 the funny thing is that tighnari says that when he was a kid, he always wanted a dendro vision because he wanted to create vine so he could climb up them and pick fruits from trees or something like that if i remember correctly
Anemo: guide yourself(or people you know) FREE (ex. Wanderer’s story quest, Jean fighting for Monstadt, Faruzan freed herself from the puzzle, Kazuha living life as a free wanderer)
Geo: (not sure) have something to hold them grounded (ex. itto and his gang, ningguang and her helpers and the jade chamber)
Electro: protect your eternity (ex. Fischl’s dream, Beidou’s Crux Fleet, Dori’s sister, etc.)
Dendro: the wisdom that’ll aid you in trying times (ex. Kaveh with the building, Baizhu and wanting to heal people, etc.)
Hydro: your justice that is rightfully yours (ex. Yelan never wanting to have her teamamates be harmed again, Childe doing whatever he can for the Tsaritsa, the best example is Furina herself)
Pyro: (note: the pyro archon may be the god of war but I also see her as the God of passion) (ex. Yoimiya’s fireworks, Diluc and his dad’s dream, Hu Tao wanting to live her life with no regrets jsut as her grandfather did, and Bennet for perservering through the adventure even if he was bleeding)
Cryo: you deserve love… even if you don’t know it yet (ex. Rosaria being taken in by Monstadt, Eula with her lineage, Chingyun and exorcising spirits, Shenhe… self explanatory really)
My interpretation of vision requirements:
Anemo - loss, of anything that will impact a character enough. Loss of a friend/family would logically hit the hardest which is why anemo is associated with dead friends. And after that loss the want to change or move on must also be present.
Geo - strong ambition to achieve something, steadfastness to a goal or trait (loyalty etc), or to be seen as the pinnacle/leader of an organisation, (not necessarily as part of them in Noelle’s case, but she embodies all the traits that ppl would assume that a knight should embody, like a strong desire to protect, loyalty and a desire to care for others)

I saw a youtube theory that the vision holders somehow have similarities with the archon of their respective elements
The Pyro Archon really saw Klee blowing things up and said, “I will grant a vision to this explosive child.”
My theory of vision requirements:
Anemo - loss, of anything that will impact a character enough. Loss of a friend/family would logically hit the hardest which is why anemo is associated with dead friends. And after that loss the want to change or move on must also be present.

To addto it. I think it's curious that most dendro wielders have done something risky while trying to get that knowledge/achieve their goal, while actively knowing of consequences.
It is tied with there past you need to read the character story to truly understand why they got there vision. It’s through there strong ambition. For example how yomiya never matter what happens always stayed happy strong and fought. sometimes they get a vision it’s just cause of how fucking smart there are or there ancestors.
The moment a character receives their vision has to do with an Ideal attached to it.
Dendro characters got their vision after putting themselves in risk for the right thing.
Electro characters got their visions when a Vision was crucial for their ambitions to be realized.
Cryo characters get their vision when placing duty above their conflicts.
Pyro characters received their vision when their passion for their ambition reached a peak.
Anemo characters achieved some sort of freedom.
Geo characters get their visions when their efforts to realize their ambitions are recognized.
Hydro characters get their visions when their wish to protect others achieves its peak.
For neuvillette, think of it as a treasure box. He puts some treasure boxes(power/vision) in places that people need to "find(earn)" and when people find it (earn it) it opens and the person gets the reward aka vision, but nuevillette doesn't know who can find these treasure boxes.
You get a vision if you have a get a strong ambition I'm pretty sure
So all the book people just read a book made a decision and got a vision to help to achieve that ambition
Notice how almost every book person has a dendro vision. Dendro is element of wisdom and wisdom comes from learning something so I think they gained their vision by their ambition to wanting to learn something.
Lisa: i want vision
God: anything for mommy ❤
The video says "oversimplified" so it lacks essentially any context, if you were to read the actual stories on how they got their visions they're framed a lot differently. Hu Tao for example didn't just "go to wuwang hill"; she conducted her grandfather's funeral, she camped at wuwang hill as a child to see his spirit, ran out of rations while she was mourning. She came to a realisation about the concepts of life and death there over time which granted her a vision. The same depth goes for various other characters.
Some Neuvillette-misinformation here. There's no info that Neuvillette wouldn't know who gets the vision, he simply tells that he puts aside pieces of his power(aka visions) to wait for worthy people to come claim them.
NORMALLY celestia decides who gets visions, and orders an archon to give a part of their power. BUT NEUVILLETTE ISN'T AN ARCHON he has complete authority over the hydro element, he himself decides what to do with it, he recognizes the will of humans and their want for visions so he's open for granting them.
Remember: The divine throne of the hydro archon does not exist anymore, that divine throne was basically controlled by celestia, so celestia has 0 control over hydro anymore.
i think a common occurence to most of those stories was that some of them acted in a way that people didnt expect them to
but thats just me
Navia didn't gain a vision because she played D&D, she gained a vision because she acted as an exemplary leader, helping everyone and not letting anyone die
Keep in mind these stories are simplified by this guy, so if you're confused you might want to read them yourself. It goes into further detail and makes more sense as to why they got their vision.
10:00 "kirara got brought into someone's home, and when they didnt come home she climbed up a tree and got inspired by lights and proceeded to find the person and bring them back home for her vision"
"oh yeah klee blew up her workstation"
My understanding is that the Archons DON'T grant the visions. The visions come from the dragon sovereigns. The reason that no new electro visions have appeared is that; either there is currently NO electro dragon, or that it is too young and doesn't have the power to grant visions. It seems that getting one is more because of strong emotions, extreme incidents, or because of intense dedication.
7:11 A vision randomly appeared in my bag
3:16 honestly... This is accurate
So Archons for the most part don’t give out visions or even have an inkling they’re somehow responsible for people receiving them. Atm people theorize it’s the intense desire/wish in someone that resonates with an Archon that gives them one. As for Nuevillette, since he has his original power that was the Dragon’s in the first place, I personally think he can see exactly what’s happening with his power and that it was being used to make visions. So now he sets aside some of his Hydro power for worthy people … like Furina who got one of his special Visions with fangs.
The full version of kaveh's vision story sums up the nature of vision story. Kaveh always wants to have a vision because of the ideology behind it, but not sure how to get one. He even almost died once to save his team from a ruin, and some other things and still didnt have a vision, so he thought that maybe he's just not the right one. But the resolve that he made while cooking a last meal in his house granted him a vision jusst like that, and now he relized that it's closer than he thought it was.
Visions are usually tied to change in heart OR deepening an already existing moral
14:35 It’s believed that Irminsul gives out visions
I don't think its random at all, each Vision seems pretty centered around who they are as a person.
Yelan’s vision story is good too
for me its looks like they got their vision after the events that change their character but sometimes its looks like it
I’ve read Collei’s vision story. It’s pretty hardcore. When Genshin gets an anime they should make it an episode.
Has everyone just forgot that people get visitors just if they gain recognition by the gods
Anemo : is giving to the one that seeing themselves lost in anyway and need an guide to the things they want, anemo is giving for the person want to find the answer for something
Cryo : giving to the one think they are not good enough in anyway, cryo is giving to the person who look down on themselves, think they are not doing enough or don't deserve something
Electro : is giving to the one that want to change something, electro holder longing for power to change things, electro is giving for the one with big ambition and crave to fullfill what they are wishing for
Geo : is giving to the one that have their dream set as stone, Geo is giving to the one know what they want and stick with it with their life and soul, geo holder is for the one who don't want to give up their dream
Hydro : is giving to the one believe in what they are doing is right, hydro holder believe in their action is right, and want be true to what they are desiring for, hydro don't care if anyone think their action is wrong as long as they believe themselves is right
Pyro : giving to the one that love what they are doing, satisfy with what they can and wish for it to be forever, pyro is giving to the one that always seeing themselves in the mirror, knowing who they are and happy with what they see
Dendro : is giving to the one always looking out for the other, who are kind from their heart that only want the best to happen everyone they care about, dendro is giving to the one that care about themselves less than the people they love and they never see themselves as the first priority in life
Two random, but not so random:
When Cyno was appointed judge the hours before he went to the library to calm down He took a book with old laws and swore to follow them since the current ones were similar but more bureaucratic. He obtained the vision from him and then looked for another book to confirm if he. could have a vision like Matra judge 😂 everyone's panic when they saw him enter with his vision validated his fear.
Wriothesley He got his vision the first day he entered the prison but a receptionist told him to hide it since other prisoners would notice him, He tied it to his body to prevent it from being stolen since it had happened to other prisoners, when the prison boss was overthrown Wriot could leave but He decided to stay to improve the quality of life of the fortress, when he signed the contract with Neuvillette it was the first time he detailed it well (in years) and used it. Neuvillette tells him that seeing him with his vision confirms that he found a horizon and that he is happy to see him continue on his path.
Lisa's vision story will always be the WTF discovery for me. Imagine Lisa saying, "I want vision", then Celestia was like, "YASS KWEEN!!!"
There are commonality between visions of the same type. These are exceptions but they are fairly close.
GEO - The Advocate
PYRO - The Spirited
DENDRO - The Scholar
HYDRO - The Dreamer
CRYO - The Pure
ELECTRO - The Steadfast
ANEMO - The Independent
Would be a nice twist if we finally meet the Celestia and its a dotting grandmother just giving out visions like cookies.
6:04 So you're telling me that not only is Arlecchino making child soldiers, but that she sends _Visionless children underwater_ without so much as a proper escort or equipment safety check!?
My poor little dori 😢
We learned in Inazuma that visions are basically people's ambitions. So basically anything that lights ambition in you can grant you a vision, it just needs to be a great enough ambition to "reach the heavens"
Like some musicians are incredibly ambitious about their music, that feeling of ambition is what could grant them a vision. Others are ambitious about cooking, justice, art, animals etc.
You can feel ambitious for running a marathon, or even just going for a nature walk.
But in the end, we don't know the true meaning or intention of celestia to give out these visions. Maybe they want to spread the archons powers throughout the land, so that if the archons powers are stolen, it's not the full original power. Maybe archons would be too powerful with their full power, and visions are how celestia keeps the archons from being overpowered?
Spoiler kinda:
4:10 Technically I think Cyno is descendant of King Deshret's priest
I feel like it's not that simple even if reading the book or something. I think it's because of their determination to learn or obtain a certain thing is what makes them obtained a vision, it's just my thoughts in this one
For Noelle it's pretty simple, she's extremely competent but to become a knight of fovonius you need to pass the official exam and everytime she get really nervous and fell😂😂
He didn't really explain zhongli's vision story. But i mean it's really obvious. Zhongli is an archon and don't need vision to control the element. But he wears a fake vision so people don't get sus of him because he can use geo without a vision. Literally the same as venti's vision story
The truth of Klee's vision. She exploded her workshop and Alice bullied Celestia and the Pyro Archon to give her a vision to stop her crying.
Vision appear depen on ambition and determination that explain by yae on archon quest, but he explain it so simple and i guess some kind of joke vid. like alhaitam got his vision because he so determine to learn to what happen on void century so while he read a book vision appear
we know that the persons vision represents their ambition. so what I believe or let’s call it a theory of my own, the character has a turning point in his life and he finds either meaning or desire. each element represents it. there’s loads of theories by the way and also I do not believe that the visions are gifts from archons. I believe it’s Celestia that gives them like Gnosis for Archons. We can actually see characters like Vanessa getting vision and ascending to Celestia.
(sorry for the mistakes If I have any. english is not my first language)
Time to sleep kids, u might end up with a vision under ur pillow
If I'm being honest, this video sucks, not mentioned many of the main points. Like with hu tao, she was the one that performed the funeral rite for her grandfather, he was the only one who understood her and her first funeral.
Jokes aside, getting a vision is somewhat like getting an enlightenment. Enlightenment in Teyvat can be achieved through different means to everyone. After gaining enlightenment, every characters see the world differently through their inherent beliefs and motivation/ambition. The process can be different to each and everyone that got a vision, but the main idea is that through that process they gain an understanding, or empowering, or acceptance that change or reinforce their "vision" of the world and thus impacting the world through their "vision" in the form of elemental powers.
This process of achieving enlightenment is probably inspired by Buddhism and the way Buddha gained an enlightenment and achieved godhood (thus Genshin, meaning proto-god or original god) and their enlightenment made an "impact" to the world through elemental powers, therefore Genshin Impact.
Cyno read a book and that's all it took... Can I have a Vision for reading too?
Lmao, Qiqi's simplified vision story is missing a lot of important details and the laughting makes it even worse
they have vision just to prove it they're playable
some npcs have visions too🧐 like Rana in Aranara quest
21:52 klee also did that
Yes. Ganyu 3000± year old (not sure). But she older then Venti (2600+) and Ei (2500+).
NO LISA'S IS EVEN BETTER THAN THAT!! She said "I suppose I would need a vision then" and then a vision appeared in her hands LMAO
(added context: she thought she'd need a vision to truly understand how elemental powers work, so to fully understand how the world of Teyvat works. She couldn't get enough insight to elemental powers without having them, so she thought she'd need a vision then)
nah it is easy to get the powers guys, look i might not have a vision, but playing this game gave me "delusion", delusion that signora will be playable and dehya will get a buff
4:47 Diluc getting his vision at the age of 10 👀
5:49 Kaveh scammed himself 💀
16:19 Ngl this wasn’t funny, how she got her vision was sad.
No way, he’s Dori confirmed
Isn't it like that celestia gives visions and the archons don't even know who has a vision or who receives one. I read that they don't even have anything to do with visions and who gehst them and when. For me Archons and visions were two different things, not connected. I think somewhere in the game it's said that the archons don't do anything and the vision "acts on it's own"
kazuha mentioned how electro visions were stopped from being given no? i could’ve sworn he mentioned the shogun and electro visions stopping
actually wait they do. i remember it from neuvilettes full ascension to dragon. celestia tells the archon to give a piece of the mastery, but they don’t know who
That video literally is "Im joking around but at the same time no"
Didn't furina get the vision because she stepped in the role even though she didn't want to and made a good job?
Layla 11:01
bro really forgot the most used word to define who gets a vision in the game
AMBITION
It's not a random thing with favoritism
Bro every explanation is too simplified.
Best way to know is by the character's story.
Or u can actually just browse the wiki.
did tighnari poop the vision or something? why was it on his chair?
It says it fell out of his pocket in his story
WOOOWW IM EARLYYY!! HAPPY WATCHING EVERYONE!!
when i liked the vid the vid had 666 likes lol
woo
e
the webtoon tells us how diluc got his vision
