    I have a 48 volt Yamaha Drive with 30amp 48/12 reducer. I added a 48volt 40 amp Accessory relay that is powered by 48volt key on, and 12 V power from reducer is energized when key is on. From there 12V goes to fuse panel, and then to equipment . Doesn’t run 48’s down unless you leave key on. By the way Great Channel for info

    Hey man , I enjoy your videos and information. I recently installed a 12v converter on my g29 and a fuse box. I ran some under body lights from led glow and purchased a bazooka party bar to install. I don't want to drill holes through my aftermarket cover to install the bar. I seen that golf cart kings makes an accessory bar that runs from roof mount to roof mount but are currently out of stock for the g29. Do you know or have any other examples of mounting these bars? I would greatly appreciate your help. Keep up the good work.

    Have a Club Car precedent 48 volt. Purchased fuse box, and 48 to 12 volt reducer. Looks like plenty of room inside battery compartment for both units…. Figured, best for protection from the elements…. Your thoughts?

    Do you have a video on how to add a 12v battery on an electric golf cart? Do you recommend a deep cycle battery if so what brands are good. Also what a good way to recharge the extra battery if installed.

    I'm new to golf carts and electrical in general; but I just got a 48 volt club car and wanted to get LED headlights, I already have halogen lights on the 2004 cart, wouldn't that cart already have a reducer for the factory light kit ( 12volts)? or are are factory headlights 48 volt?

    I installed a 12v fan on my 2021 Yamaha Drive 2 EFI. I connected directly to the battery with an inline 5 amp fuse. (Specs on fan says it draws 2.5 amps). I notice that the fan speed varies with the cart speed. Is this normal? Should I not be connecting directly to the battery? Will I damage anything by wiring directly to the battery? Thanks for any help!

    I have 2022 Vivid ev with 48v Lithium batt. My LED running lights on the rear stopped working when i tapped into it for a 3rd break light and they stopped working on the running light side. Break and tails still work. Obliviously the ground wire isnt the same as a chassis or battery terminal grounding. How does it ground with LED lites on a Lithium setup. All fuses are good. any suggestions?

    question, for a simple cheap led kit off amazon, why can't I just use the +/- off a single battery to power the module? Put my meter on it and its a constant 13V (I have a 48V system). Will it be a slow drain? Also, I already have headlights/taillights/blinkers/horn installed by the dealer. Should I just try and find where that is and tap off of it so that the circuit is dead when key is off?

    • @johncampbell3607

      I know this is an old question, but the problem with doing that is that you are pulling from only one battery, so that battery will wear out quicker than the rest. With a reducer, you are pulling evenly from all batteries. You may also notice the lights might dim a bit when accelerating if you don't use a reducer. I have only noticed that with incandescent lights, not LEDs though.

    Can I wire my 48V reliance converter to the output side of solenoid so that when the key is off, it kills the power to prevent parasitic draw? Or will this chance messing up my controller or cause it to kick out if it senses voltage drop while using sound bar, lights, tail lights, headlights ect...? I hear some controllers can be sensitive. This is on a Yamaha Drive. Any info? Thanks

    Without a doubt the easiest and safest way is adding an additional battery. I mean there’s usually more than enough room to add an additional battery or two.

      I agree. I'm just using our 36 volt golf cart for leisurely riding around our camp ground. After watching this video, I'll stick to my cheap and simple set up. A separate $29 dollar 12 volt lawn mower battery from Walmart to power a set of LED headlights. I trickle charge it once or twice between opening day May 1st, and storage by Oct 31st. Two years and no problems. I added 2 power outlets in the dash for charging cell phones or to run a mini air compressor to fix the occasional soft tire. Was thinking about a CD player next summer.

    This is probably easy for some, but I’m not a wiring guy, I’ve got a voltage reducer with a fuse block, 48v cart, am wiring a light bar, the fuse block only has side for red positive wire for light bar, my question is what do I do with the black negative wire on the light bar? I don’t know what to hook it up to? Do I wire it to negative at end of battery run and connect positive to fuse block? Help is appreciated

    • @bth2278
      @bth2278 2 роки тому +1

      If I were you, I would purchase a fuse block that has both negative and positive post. Remove your existing fuse block. Identify the negative battery post that your voltage reducer is wired to. From that negative run a wire to wherever your fuse block is located. Plug the positive wire from the voltage reducer to the fuse box's positive and the negative wire from negative battery post to the negative on the fuse block. Now, each time you add a 12v accessory all you have to do is plug in the positive and negative terminals to the proper location in the fuse block and add a fuse.

    Is it a bad idea to just do a completely isolated battery system? I was thinking about doing a separate battery for 12v accessories.

    • @mikeherrera1610
      @mikeherrera1610 2 роки тому +1

      I have done a completely isolated system on my 36V Ezgo cart. get a deep cycle marine battery and a marine grade terminal block to ensure each added circuit has a fuse and is easily identified. While a proper reducer is certainly easier to implement I wanted a complete and isolated system from the drive batteries.
      Advantages of isolated system:
      No range reduction from draining drive batteries.
      Capacity for more accessory circuits
      Any issues won't effect drive electronics
      Peace of mind if you just want to park and blast the stereo system and other mods while tail-gating, etc.
      Disadvantages
      cost/complexity
      added weight
      Need to run a separate charger from drive battery-pack charger. I bought a low amperage charger and mounted it in the cart and added a receptacle under the main pack charger receptacle that accepts a standard female 3 prong cord.
      While the author is certainly right that a quality reducer can cover almost all people's needs I wanted to go the extra mile.

    • @SPCLPONY
      @SPCLPONY Рік тому +1

      Jeremy, If you have a lot of 12 volt accessories, I would go with a big Automotive/Marine/RV size deep cycle battery and fuse block.
      I'm just powering a pair of added LED headlights, and a lighter plug power outlet for our cell phones or a mini air compressor. I have a $29 dollar 12 volt lawnmower battery from Walmart without a fuse block. It hardly takes up space and doesn't add another 65 pounds to our 36 volt EZ-Go. I trickle charge it once or twice a camping season for the past two years without any issues.
