- A teleporter-related accident during a round leads to Medic making plans, involving his teammates.
This is a project started in june and is still unfinished. Please be patient for the second part, it will be out whenever it's done.
This was a first for me in many aspects, especially the music-making, video editing and scripting/writing. And you learn by doing and recognizing mistakes. If you'd like to see me improve, please feel free to leave comments and such.
Also, some spelling errors are on purpose, but if you straight up can't understand something being said due to false grammar, please! tell me!

The relationship between heavy and medic is just perfect. This is what feels cannon to me, with medic being slightly manipulative and off-putting when he needs to, and heavy knowing something is wrong but loving medic so much he goes along with it anyways. 10/10

I loved how Pyro expressed what they saw through a drawing, just like a child. They may have felt kinda disturbed :( or maybe they just didn't understand it and thought it was funny

when i say "the second part's out whenever its done", i mean: its gonna take a while. like, multiple months. please be patient! i gotta keep a lookout for not overworking myself. so who knows when the next part will be out.

conveying cadence through syntax like this is such an underutilised storytelling technique. my jaw DROPPED when spy started rambling on and on with no punctuation or capitalisation followed by scout's perfect grammar and more formal speech because i knew exactly what the fuck just happened
This is so calming in a strange way, like it takes me back to when i would play visual novel games as a kid, or going back and listening to rpg soundtracks. Also Sniper’s and Demo’s relationship is so cute im here for it

Hes a charming people person. It's a part of being a manipulateive bastard
i love the way you used punctuation and capitalization to convey emotional state. scout, of course, being the youngest and most informal of them, he is loose, using the bare minimum to convey the tone and emotion of his statement. the others, however, use perfect syntax, for both, making it especially jarring when engineer begins to panic, dropping all of that in favor of the same short phrases repeated over and over again, emphasizing the emotion behind his words, causing him to drop the facade of coolness for a few short seconds.
I love the shot at 10:50, it really shows how manipulative Medic is! The low angle and lighting make him feel dangerous/in control, and the intimate position takes advantage of Heavy's feelings.
Also love the use of the voices, that was creative
Heavymedic got me squealing and rolling like a little girl.

i really love the way the characters are written it feels like we're seeing a side of the mercs that they show in their more serious moments/day to day life, like their more mundane less lunatic sides of their personalities ITS AMAZING
i also love the song choices i think they really fit the atmosphere of whats going on in certain scenes and let me just talk about the atmosphere like oh my god the like text bubbles you used to make the characters talk really remind me of old retro text games and by extension pale luna which is my favorite creepypasta!!
while on the topic of creepypasta, the horror in this short is so good the scene where spy and scout come out of the teleporter all mixed up is horrific and i love it
the animation too is so good and the transitions where it like pans over the ceiling and stuff in the beginning is probably my favorite transition like ever idk its just so cool!!

The moment I had that translated I knew what he wants to happen, and it's creepy af
the “speaking” felt a bit jarring but the actual story is intriguing asf. i like how they’re characterized, especially medic what with all the manipulation and odd demeanor. the mind-melding and horrific fusion through teleporter is scary and also really cool too. i see this being an iconic story in tf2 horror
I loved all of this. I regret having put off watching this so much, this was so damn good! The presentation, the writing, the feelings this gave me, OUGH.
I love the choice of soundtracks (I think several of these are from the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series?), and the way a lot of the scenes have the segments with choppy "bare essential" animations, and the segments with smoother movement, with these switches between how stuff is... Rendered, for lack of a better word, I don't know animation terminology. It feels like an older 3D puzzle game I'd play on the computer as a kid, and it scratches my brain so well.
All the subtle movements and expressions are also great, I especially like the way many of the shots are positioned, it always feels like something is off, someone is watching these events unfold, and there is an unspoken tension in the air. Every single conversation, _especially_ the ones involving Medic feels so oppressive and claustrophobic almost. These scenes are happening in broad daylight half the time, these are people from the same team, if anything were to go badly, there would be help! But it still feels like there is danger looming all of these characters, Medic included, even though he is probably half the danger himself. Especially because he just keeps getting in everyone's personal space, and saying some truly eerie stuff, but nobody bats an eye, because he's just Like That most of the time.
You get lulled into this false sense of security, you expect a more light-hearted and humorous animation, and it _is_ that, kinda, but then it whips out the amalgmation scene, and oh God, oh no. My heartrate actually went up at the second scene. That greyed out mess of limbs with Scout and Spy's half-reversed wheezing in different ears makes me so uncomfortable, it's insane. I watched a handful of The Scary[tm] Team Fortress 2 videos, but none have disturbed me as much as this, for some reason. Insanely good stuff.
It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. There was uneasiness from the start, but the scene right before Spy and Scout teleport had me almost shaking with anticipation. It gave me _that_ feeling I got from a good horror experience, where I couldn't bring myself to look away, despite knowing there was nothing I could do to stop something bad from happening. The scene right before the end feels even more nauseating - there's a lump in my throat from seeing everyone follow Medic, when he is clearly up to no good. They trust him, but should they? What is he going to do to them? What will Soldier come back to? The tension is killing me, man.
Just that shot of Pyro's depiction of what happened with Scout and Spy gives me little hope for the future, that awaits them all. It's just a childish drawing. But Pyrovision paints all of the mercenaries as babies. If Pyro saw something with those limbs, and whatever the heart at the center represents, it means it impacted them somehow. This is _Pyro_ we're talking about. One of the most desensitised, if not outwardly ignorant mercenaries, when it comes to gruesome events. A kid's depiction of something frightening has always been one of my favourite tropes in horror media, and this scratched that itch so good, it's bleeding, and I'm scared in a good way.
Obligatory Heavymedic mention - I love how they clearly care for each other, albeit in different ways, and they both know what they're doing. Heavy sees what Medic is doing, he knows what he's being pushed to do, but he cares about Doctor, he loves Doctor, so it takes only a bit of convincing. Medic being so physically affectionate and tender, whilst somehow menacing and dangerous is so good. On the opposite end of this spectrum, there's the subtle but warm connection between Sniper and Demo. It's just a couple of gestures and touches, but their shared scenes probably felt the most comfortable and safe. I'm not _quite_ sure about what Soldier and Engineer have going on, but it does also feel like something More than mere camaraderie. Wonder if the "What are you screwin' there anyways?" with the long pause afterwards was supposed to be something of an inappropriate joke, hah. Somehow, Spy calling Scout "Jeremy", no matter the context, makes me just kinda sad. I'm assuming there's the usual "Spy is Scout's Dad, Scout does not know" type of dynamic here, so. Yowch, man.
This is all to say, great animation, I am curious to see more.
wow! this blows me away! (having this much analysis written about my work? holy shit how?) this is an interesting read for me, cuz it shows me what things you managed to pick up on, and which maybe were subtler (this goes for the whole comment section, but you genuinely looked at so many aspects of my animation, its hard not to praise).
the scene of scout and spy melding gave me the shivers too and i suppose that was a good sign.
i wont say more about the animation, the second part/the rest of it will be out someday hopefully. im working on it :] please be patient

To me, this is going to be in the same level as Emesis Blue in portraying Medic as someone you should be afraid of once he loses all rationality in the first place.

Very interesting style of animation and dialogue. Feels a lot like a visual novel to me, not quite my thing since I'm not a huge fan of visual novels but credit where credit is due! No doubt this took a lot of work, and the writing is pretty good! I'm impressed. I hope you take things at a good pace for yourself, and I hope so many more people get to see your work.
i love the animation style.... so much....... it kinda reminds me of one of those interactive novel games!! and i love how you differentiated Scout's personality from the rest, because ofc he would be the one without any capitals or punctuation. also the way you did HeavyMedic? i'm living for it atm. (i am lowkey obsessed with that first shot of them cuddled up on the bed and Medic playing with Heavy's hand)

This is sooooooo good like genuinely. I wasn't expecting something with so much depth to the characters. And i love the style, where its mostly stills with shots of low fps animations. Im saving this to my sfm collection
I think your choice of using visual novel-esc 8-bit voices was the best choice you made. Using AI or voice mixing just wouldn't portray the seriousness you're going for, and its also just super unique. I love the stop motion-y animation and the horror RPG maker game vibes. I can't wait for the next part :D (take your time, no rush)

Gotta say I LOVE the vibes of this! idk if this is gonna make sense but it reminds me of indie psychological horror rpg maker games, I know that it's a highly specific comparison but even if you don't understand it just know that it means I like it a whole lot! I also love when medic gets to be creepy

This is incredible. The dialogue and mannerisms for each of the characters makes this feel canon. I love the game-like method in which speech is conveyed. I'm invested in the story and dread to imagine what will happen to Pyro. Good TF2 horror, I can't wait for part 2!

Oh my god, this is actually so cool
This is really interesting! Never seen an SFM in this style before. The Scout wheezing/gasping and other misc. voices around 6:50 was pretty horrifying. It seems like Scout and Spy's personalities got swapped, based on the changes in their dialogue style, although their refusals to talk about the event indicate something more than just a simple personality change (perhaps trauma or brain damage?).
The lighting's interesting in that it's very simple, yet effective in bright vs dark. When Medic talks with Heavy, there are moments where his face is enshrouded in shadow, indicating that there is something more sinister going on about his plan to test the Teleporter. Though that being said, the lighting does still feel very flat, though it doesn't really take away from the video.
The openly queer characters are definitely uncommon to see in SFMs (I can think of very few examples actually), but I'm familiar enough with the Tumblr/Ao3 to not experience more than momentary surprise. :)
