Please be aware that woodturning is a hazardous activity. These videos are only intended to show you what I do - they are not tutorials.

Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.
Brill stuart, my favourite you tube woodturner.

Glad you stopped when you did... another beautiful bowl.

I really like it too without the gold overlay. Great work
Thanks, Paul! It was fun to do, even if quite smoky!!
Good one, Stewart. ...............better than good
Thanks, Louis - delighted you like this one. Cheers!
Ooh, I like this one too; a lot of the interest is in the shape of the bowl also. Nice!
Thank you so much - I enjoy these multi-rims....must do some more!

Very smart looking! Definitely a keeper. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It really is!
I envy you so much. Such and artful eye. Carry on . Keep coloring !
Thank you, Dave! I will indeed keep coloring. Cheers!!
thats lovely . great to see a finished piece.
a very simple processs but very effective. i like the hind of black left between the texture , really ties it together. i woulder if a copper colour in that area before the texture would make it sparkle
Thanks, Alan - i think a metallic look would be very effective.....one day!
It came out great, love the coloring.
Thank you so much!

Absolutely Beautiful, Stewart!
Glad you like it!
I'd call this a very strong piece. Bold and simple (wait, that's me) colors, good clean transitions, and I like the result from that little texturing gizmo.
Cheers, Bill - it's a keeper for me too!
Gorgeous piece Stewart, in colour, texture and form.
Glad you like it! Cheers, Stuart!
This is a lovely bowl, Stewart! The reds, orange, and yellow next to the deep black is stunning. 💜
Thank you, Tracey - this design is one I've had a few goes at and I always like the end result.

Fantastic piece ,I really like your calming explanation on the process, you inspire me and many others to transform our work from brown and round to sparkle and shine. Regards Martin
Thank you, Martin - delighted you like it and I hope you have fun giving this a go. Cheers!
Wow Stewart! You finished one. Cool. I really do like this. It has an elegant kind of look to it. I really wish I could watch that workshop you've been talking about! It sounds super. Have fun with it. Thanks for sharing your creativity with me again. Stay safe, Vickie
Glad you enjoyed it, Vickie. Thanks for your support!
Stewart......not that you need it but if you want to try taking your Microcrystal wax finish upward there is a slab/epx maker in BC up in Canada that sells a ceramic coating that is to fine wax such as Micro crystal what Micro is to common wax........ceramic product that comes with a base for build up and then a top......wipe on wipe off that is more easily reparable than wax
Black Forrest Ceramic

Love your content
Thank you, Jed - the finishing regime could become a very deep hole indeed!
Such a bold, beautiful piece!! Thanks for your continual inspiration! 2 questions - 1. Do you sign your work? If so, how do you do that with the textured foot? 2. Do you size your mortises so that you don’t get chuck marks once you take it off?
Thanks, Amy! It was fun to do. I do sometimes sign what I make, and then the recess isn't textured. I use an archive ink pen. The mortice is usually set at the optimum size for the chuck jaws so it doesn't mark and grips it the best it can.
I really do like this one a lot! All that texturizing with the hand tool must have been a real wrist breaker though. Were you seated or standing?
Thanks, Allen - I was standing....need to get a tall work stool, I think!
Jood job as usual Stewart, it is pineapple... lol ... nothing sparkly bought yet ?? you will have to make something then 😂😂
Haha...yep, guess so....
Every time I try this I end up burning the holes that I make. Any advice greatly appreciated. Wood is mahogany
Sorry to hear this...the only thing I can suggest is to alter the speed of the cutter and check it's clean? Try a slower speed first. Good luck!
Lovely job Stewart - as usual. What type of paint/stain did you use?
Thanks, Peter - I used Chestnut Products ebonising lacquer and then their spirit stains - red, orange and yellow. Cheers!
Love it, what did you use to mount the piece to put the detailed texture in?
Thanks, Trev - a carving jig from Simon Hope Woodturning - here's a link: hopewoodturning.co.uk/lathe-accessoires/jigs/hope-carving-jig/
I love the work pieces but cant help thinking the commentary feels like something off a childrens programme
Haha...that'll be my teacher's voice, then!!! Glad you liked the end result. Cheers!!
