      It's movie for older people. But olders usually have their favorite movies already. Movies like Lost In Translation need time.

    Lost in Translation was a suberb film. Well directed, well shot, beautiful photographer. She did an excellent job with this.
    Some peopel apparently don't get it, but if you do, its superb.
    Imagine this,,,, a film,, a story,, with no bombs, no killing,, no vulgar humour. It well played, and thoughtful. It takes a lot of talent to do a film like this.
    Thanks Sofia

    i remember reading some reviews for godfather 3 and so many of the critics wrote some of the meaniest crueliest reviews of her performance. i think critics who did that should be ashamed of themselves, never if they really thought her performance was so bad they still should have been that mean.
    atleast most now see she is a very talented artist in her own right.

    Actually, as someone from the West who's lived for years in Japan, I thought it was quite a good little glimpse at how it is to be a Westerner in Japan. Not to mention that there's a lot of good photography in the movie and a good soundtrack. People criticize the children of famous people all the time. Who the heck listens to Sean Lennon's music?

Al pacino is great when he can let his emotions fully explode like on Scarface and Scent of a woman, but it would destroy the whole atmosphere of LOST IN TRANSLATION

    @lamentate07 I would grant that it's reasonably well done & well cast, but I was turned off by the attitudes of the protagonists. Also, though I'm not Japanese, I've lived in Japan &, their culture being a part of my life, I was somewhat ruffled by the way they are presented in this movie.

    • @kienlou2945
      @kienlou2945 3 роки тому

      Its not that bad actually. At the start of the movie they are both unhappy with their personal lives, so they treat the foreign culture as irritating. When are more happy with each other and themselves later, they start to really appreciate and think of the foreign culture as interesting or beautiful. Japanese are potrayed as too comical a stereotype mostly still though.
