Well ever since buying this truck I have hated the chrome mirror caps and door handles. In the last couple videos I have been removing the chrome. In this video we continue that process. IT ALMOST ALL GONE! This is the process for adding color matched or paint matched door handles to a GMC sierra or Chevrolet Silverado. This works on 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018. It actually really easy and great improves the look in my opinion. Let me know what you think.....

I just had to replace an exterior handle on a rear door, your video and fishing line tip worked great. I wrapped the line around a construction pencil for extra ease and leverage. Total time was less than 5 min. Thanks much.

Nice! I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT looks almost the same except mine has different wheels. Boy, it makes a difference! but, I wouldn't be able to put it myself. Looks difficult. Congrats! Looks awesome!

I like the color matched look, i am currently doing the same thing on mine and it looks alot better especially with the billet grab handles and keyless buckets that i did on the doors.

Aww that’s cool. I just gave my 02 Tahoe to my inlaws pick up a new one in white so I’m changing a lot of things to black so it’s white on black. Thanks for the response. Theres a trick you can use duct tape sticky side in on the 7mm socket. And itll pull that screw out so you dont have to worry about it falling down.

Great video man! I wish i had that year i was originally gonna get a 15 but ended up with a victory red 11. And even though ive had the panels off when i out tow mirrors on i never seen how door handle comes off and i ordered set of color matched. Turns out mine dont come off from outside

I sold the truck. Silverado models come with black. You can order those.
Mine is a 2015 silverado. It came with chrome and can't find replacement that isn't over 100$

Your local auto parts store can get it
Maybe Wrap window trim along with pillars gloss black.
I tried to wrap the chrome to no avail. I kept shorting the cuts.
TWA Motorsports do longer cuts and use knifeless tape.

Im doing the opposite, since mine isna sle it came with paint matched handles and i prefer chrome so i got a take off chrome handles ima tackle installing one day soon
Yeah some like the chrome.
The door handles DO break. Chevrolet wants $405, with paint to do what you just did for one door. The cover will come off the broken handle and snap on the new. No paint required. Chevrolet price on the handle is $58. Aftermarket is less.

I have 2015 SLT GMC Sierra 1500 and it has the big side door mirrors.. I can't seem to find Matte Black end caps for the top and bottom of each mirror. They are currently chrome and I want them to be matte BLACK,,, can't you point me in the right direction as to where I can get these for the mirrors top and bottom for each mirror...

The Chrome is one thing I hate about my truck. I dont mind the one around the windows but the door handles and the mirror caps drive me crazy.

I dropped the square nut in the door panel. What's the trick to get it back to where it's supposed to sit ? I have no idea how to do it.

@@TWAMotorsports didn't work. I use your fishing line tip. Reverse thread it through the handle to the door panel side, tie it up and pull it through jiggle it until it slides in. There it is. Thanks for the tip though.

@@TWAMotorsports the screw won’t tighten up . Im a take the panel off tomorrow morning and see what fell and how to put it back . I saw another video on how to do this wish I saw this one 1st . You gave a precaution warning . Funny thing the door handle cap still stays on . Seems secure .
@@TWAMotorsports well I didn’t want to take the door panel off . There was a little dimple in the door handle cap that the screw butted up to . I drilled right through that dimple and had the screw thread through it and it held the cap tight .

alex713m there’s oem painted caps and handles on eBay. Depending on availability this isn’t a cheap endeavor but if it’s something you want, they’re out there. Onyx black was readily available for me, I used big dealership eBay sellers like BillcramerGM and ChevynationParts and they had everything I needed.
Where did you find the replacement for the chrome window trim that he points out in the video. I’ve looked every where and can’t seem to find anything but chrome

Anyone have an issue with the bolt not seating back into the door once installed. It will not fasten itself.
