Tooling marks don't mean diddly in a gunfight. As long as the gun works, that's what matters. The price is kept down because they didn't do the extra machining to make it look pretty. So take it for what it's worth.
On the other hand, I used to have a S&W model 10 snub that was a beautiful piece of machine work. Fit, finish, and function was flawless. However, it wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 10 paces. So take that also for what it's worth.
As for me, I value function over looks.

Thanks for your post. I picked up a Rock Island M206 revolver recently. It came with the wood grips and the larger plastic grips. I have found that by gripping the larger bulb at the base of the wood grips, it avoids injuries from recoil at the top of the backstrap.

Great vid. Picked up one of these up for my wife. $280. Left the wood handle on for her small hands, but the rubber grips will stop the pinch for bigger hands. (A tighter grip/hold will solve that pull to the left. Did for me at least.) Thanks again!

I have owned a Armscor 200 for about 10-years. During this time period I have shot plenty of +P loads through this Colt Police Positive look-a-like! The Model 200 has the profile, the frame, clockwise cylinder rotation, and a very thick steel top strap that reinforces against the hotter blast of shooting +P ammo. I would not shoot any +P+ ammo through your 206. That load is too close to the .357 magnum. My shooting has been much with the Model 200. One of the features that attracted me to it was its likeness to the 1976 Colt Police Positive .38 Revolver. The grip portion of my 200's frame will accept Colt D-Frame Grips with no problem. I have a set of Pachmayr Grips that is sized for the Colt Detective Special on my Armscor. The Model 200 is a "dead ringer" for the 1976 Police Positive. That was the attraction to me. I got a very good, very rugged, .38 Revolver , that had had hundreds of rounds put through it, both regular .38's and about 200-rounds of the hotter +P rounds that some are afraid to fire in their Armscor. It will handle a limited amount of +P ammo, just use it sparingly. The Model 206 looks like the Colt Diamondback .38 with a 2-inch barrel. Most owners will say their 206 looks Detective Special, nah, the Diamondback with a short barre. The D-Frame Grips of the Colt Diamondback will fit your Armscor Model 206. You have a neat little snubnose that will do an excellent job of protecting yourself. Thanks for showing us!

From that distance, your groups were pretty good. Shooting from roughly the same distance I was getting similar results. But one thing I learned that dramatically improved my groups, and this is a secret I prefer no one else to know, was that when I stepped into about 6 inches from the target I was amazed at how well my grouping improved. lol

@craigfinley2507 I owned the M200, it has bigger rubber grips (iirc) and a 4 inch barrel. And of course, a hammer. This specific version of the M206 doesn't have a spur. If you buy it new it sometimes comes with the M206 grips, too.

Seems like this would be the perfect go-anywhere gun that every guy needs, something cheap and reliable that you can beat the hell out of without shedding a tear...I'll pick one up in the nickel finish I think.

Shoots +p just fine. Both the wood grips and the black plastic tactical grips work just fine. The gun is just as good as anything out there. Please respond.

  • @matthewrobinson4323
    @matthewrobinson4323 7 років тому +6

I have the exact same gun, and love it. As to the biting, it's a matter of how you're gripping it, I learned that the old fashioned way. Ü As to +p, out of a 2" barrel, why bother? And as excellent as the gun is, their customer service is even better! If there's anything wrong with the gun, they'll repair it or replace it with absolutely no hassle. Amazing gun and amazing company.
Comparing the m 206 to a S & W 442 (my other snub) is like comparing a C 10 to an El Camino. Both are 1/2 ton pick ups, but the C 10 is less refined. If you ever do ned to use a gun in self-defense, refinement won't be an issue.

Trigger job is a piece of cake! Stop shooting so far away, the average gun fight happens 0 to 3 feet away so a snub nose need not shoot 15 yards away just 1 and 5 at most, and that pistol was made on 100% Colt tooling so that makes it a Colt just not finished as pretty same as the 1911’s they make they are Colt model 70 series 1911’s made yep you guessed it Colt tooling and people think they are junk because they are made in the Philippines well they are not try one out you won’t be disappointed!!!

I don't recommend revolvers today. They do work of course but modern semi-auto are more effective & more popular.
    From: Active Armed Self Protection
    *Their DATA*
    CCW Calibers used in America:
    - 70% of the U.S. use 9mm
    - 10% use .40 S&W
    - 9% use 45 ACP
    - 11% use *"other"* caliber
    Notes:
    - The 11% *"other"* calibers include the .22LR, .25, .32, 380, .357 mag., .44 mag., 10mm, 5,7x28mm, etc.
    - The Worlds usage of 9mm is probably even higher than above U.S. figures.
    *Informed (opinion) conclusion:*
    1. Mouse gun calibers are not recommended for self-defense.
    2. Best caliber(s) to use for CCW is the *9mm.* World police & World military agree with this
