I agree with going after an elite edge. That one move can transform a defense and stabilize a weak secondary. As long as it’s a player we can keep long term I don’t think it’s really sacrificing a pick. Plus we’re no longer talking about a high pick in the round cuz they’re winning. Top 10ish is much different than 20ish. And maxx’s contract is actually a value for his level of play.
Facts. Later first rounders more times than not don't produce the value they should. And yeah an elite DE changes the entire defensive dynamic. Game changer

You also can't make business decisions (ie, trading of players) worrying about fans as there are (and will be) irrational fans. Hence my reason for disagreeing about getting a corner first vs a edge rusher now..The Jets have Sauce but only one pass rusher.. the Steelers have 2 legit rushers that's why Porter Jr looks so darn good. Surtain is the best of the best but folks don't realize he has 4 pass rushers in the front 7..
Forget Crosby, Go Bigger wth a package deal with Cleveland For Ward, MYLES GARRETT, and JOK. Next year's 1,2,3, and 2026 2 & 3 for them eating a big chunk of their salary to boot. Then Next year when Micah ends up on the Block we can send or 2026 1st to Dallas for Micah and still have enough to pay him.
Picks are used to get good players, salary cap is used to pay good players. What's the use of having an abundance of picks and cap space if you're having a good season and real needs? We have to take a look at these trades.

We're outperforming expectations, and certainly in a position in which we can, not only vie for a divisional title, but also play for home field advantage as it currently stands. The NFC is clearly up for grabs, and we're one of the early frontrunners to grab a top spot in the playoffs. No need to sit and "wait for next season" while we have an opportunity and capital to make things happen now. "Strike while the iron is hot" was an appropriate phrase (and one I often use) regarding this situation with our squad.

We give up Montez sweet up for a 3rd round pick which I hated and chase young for a 2nd round pick. U give a 2 a 3 and a 5th round pick they will do it. Problem is Adam Peter's would not do it he would want the picks. I would do it for Garrett he is a Beast.
