If you work a wendy's you are going to have to learn A computer system to clock in and out of your job. Are they being cheap by not having somebody to man that computer? Only lazy ass truckers would complain about having to do anything that isn't strictly sitting in a truck. Every other job nobody questions having to learn company specific system's.
I only know the computer of the specific yard I go to. If I was one of those contractors that deliver loads I wouldn't be too happy. You can't expect a driver to know 15 different computer systems, one for each yard they may have to deliver to. But then again, I don't know how logging contracts work, if they only deliver to one mill or something like that.
The issue is these guys don't work for the lumber mill. They work for the logging company. This would be like if you went into Wendys to get your lunch only to be told you need to make it yourself.
There's a "paramilitary" style of safety boot that laces-to-fit, but zips on/off on the side. When I have to travel through airports, they save a lot of time. I double-tie the laces so the fit is always perfect. PPE should be comfortable and completely fit so you barely know it's there ... until it saves you.
i wish more places actually had competent staff so i could get loads off in a reasonable amount of time without having to become a free staff member on the site managing someone elses loader drivers because and doing there bloody office work
i wish more places actually had competent staff so i could get loads off in a reasonable amount of time without having to become a free staff member on the site managing someone elses loader drivers and doing there bloody office work.
i do refrigerated pallets and find myself constantly doing a fucking storemans job or supervising forklifts trying to find my loads in someone elses cold storage sheds.. shouldnt be my job
A truck driver is responsible for his load. This place does seem to leave much of the work to the trucker but I wouldn't be surprised if this system didn't come about because of truckers abusing the older system.
I used to work for a lumber mill here in America, and the truck drivers never followed any of these procedures 😂... well except for the slow speeds and ppe
when a truck comes in pulling a trailer full then unloads the driver will lift his trailer onto the back of the truck so the trailer doesnt have to be towed saving on trailer mileage and can get to his next destination without worrying about towing a traielr
this seems way to hard, compared how to works here in sweden, almost the same at the weight station go in on the computer do the stuff. drive to the loader, wait for ur turn while u wait u can unhock the straps over the logs so the loader can easly take ur logs of ur trucks.
I don't know whats worse!!! 1. I will never drive a truck onto any logging site let alone this one so I didn't need to watch this 2. I watched it anyways :S
Theweescot the have cables or rope. Just remember this video is in Canada. Here in Alabama these drivers would get a ticket for being stacked over there log supports.
I laughed at their safety items they said you needed to wear while watching the driver leave his truck face first instead of using 3 point stance as I was taught to do. I have actually seen a video of a driver leaving face first face plant at a fueling station, which is why you should go down the other way.
OK i log with my dad i can come everywhere with him and i wear crocs and no hat, i dont know why its so complicated and you have to do all stuff yourself!
Wow some of the comments here really show how ignorant the person's posts about job site safety is. DON'T always rely on the integrity and condition of equipment around you. Without OSHA the job's would be more dangerous and building's would be substandard built.
do you pay the trucker to do all this bullshit? maybe pay someone to deal with the computer work. Truck driver shouldn't do anymore than remove cables and get unloaded. We make shit money as it is and shit like this is why its probably the worst hourly wage of any job. all this shit takes time and for the majority of us were paid by the load. pisses me off i struggle to make 20$ n hour because all this bullshit everywhere i go
So you take the pink card, print the crap on the back of it, then take another pink card, write what is printed on the back of the first pink card to this card, then you take another two pink cards and write the same crap on them (or copy them, but that printer has no pink color, so probably write it all again and again) then staple one pink card on the logs, one pink card goes probably to the box (nobody said that but it probably goes) and then you keep one pink card.. What do you do with the pink card that has crap printed on the back of it - nobody knows:) Some put it on the log, some put it in the box and some take it. Some say, that some truck drivers use the pink card to shit - its a very popular activity, in which the goal is to shit on the pink card so much, that it is all brown. The biggest of truckers can totally shit over all three of these cars, taking a stance on the government check:DDD
Wearing a vest and helmet in the scale house is one of the silliest things I have ever heard. I mean you afraid the roof is going to fall in. OSHA/health and safety is one of the stupidest over bloated government agency's out there. And they cant see how stupid they look requiring these items that can't even do anything for you.
At the point you are at the scale house your load is still secured therefore nothing would be able to fall on you anyway therefore as Joel said it's one of the stupidest requirements possible.
Joel Martin I agree, OSHA has gone to far on some things. Few of my friends work for the county, they have to wear hardhats for everything. Mowing, weadeating, driving a tractor.
Joel Martin over bloated but can jack u and ur company up. Osha making a new push to make the individual liable too meaning u get fined not just the company so wear the ppe or face osha wraith
Protective Equipment is there to eliminate injury from unseen dangers within a workplace. Your in an environment where loose cargo is stacked above your head. Never 100% rely on your equipment, because if equipment can be built, then it can break.
Do I need a Logyard Orientation Video?
No!
Am I going to watch it anyways?
Yes!
id104335409 Same

Badar Ahmed me too
venus7432 same this is my 4th time in month
i can now on holidays come from switzerland and unload my logs there xD
"Always stay to the outside of the screw piles"... where the ground is uneven and littered with debris.
i don't know how i got to this video but this video reminds me of every job i've ever worked at with training videos like this
What plaint is this on? Never been to plant that works this way... Looks like crap to me. We also never drop twigs..
I'd fuck that computer up if it doesn't say congratulations straight away
That sounds super cheap making all of the truck drivers learn your computer system... That should be a manned shack IMO

not having it manned means that they can afford to pay the truckers more, so there is that to consider.
@@xaiano794 no, only more profit. Truckers don't get more pay. In what world are you living in?
Why did I watched the full video?
This is one of those videos that gets either three views or ... half a million? Oy.
2:04 Looks like this guy has never worn boots before. Tie your damn laces all the way up and don't get your pants caught behind the tongue.
That's the hockey player in him. tongue out on the skates.

just dump the logs In their driveway and let them figure out the rest, would take all day to get a load off
Excellent video. I wish some of the places I've delivered to had such clear instructions.
i wish more places actually had competent staff so i could get loads off in a reasonable amount of time without having to become a free staff member on the site managing someone elses loader drivers because and doing there bloody office work
Why am I watching this... Why can I not stop watching this...
They seem to skip the clean up part
I'm lost already....can you see me flashing my headlights? Catch me on ch 13 please.....
i wish more places actually had competent staff so i could get loads off in a reasonable amount of time without having to become a free staff member on the site managing someone elses loader drivers and doing there bloody office work.
How did I go from show live to this?
How to get a job as class 1 driver there?
Why is it recommended for me?
This is Canada. Note the Km/h postings.
sparkythebuilder ya alberta canada
So much bullshit
grande prairie alberta to be exact lol. worked at this mill in production for 4 years .most boring place to work ever .
Free labor from the drivers, freakin corporate greed.
one should clock this and bill send them a bill for the scale operation.
i do refrigerated pallets and find myself constantly doing a fucking storemans job or supervising forklifts trying to find my loads in someone elses cold storage sheds.. shouldnt be my job

Stand up in protest and don't haul logs there then? All the time spent at the scales is built into the cycle times
UA-cam: Wanna watch this video about a logyard oritentation?
Me: Sure.
The title should be "How to make Wood (very easy)
No SWIFT Trucks?
They are all crashed
"best in class" of crashing.
Best in Crash*
That crazy loader taking all the logs at once - seriously cool.
I have a can of beer in hand, ready to watch.
Eddie 😂😂😂
7:27
Goes to pick up logs
Picks up trailer with logs
The unloader: F*!#ing S#$!
I used to work for a lumber mill here in America, and the truck drivers never followed any of these procedures 😂... well except for the slow speeds and ppe
What’s the trailer hoist for?
Carson Stephens hoisting trailer's! Some trailer's can be moved up on the back of the truck.
when a truck comes in pulling a trailer full then unloads the driver will lift his trailer onto the back of the truck so the trailer doesnt have to be towed saving on trailer mileage and can get to his next destination without worrying about towing a traielr
Truck drivers could never fuck this up.
The tank top and jp’s screamed GP at the end lol
are you gonna make more vidos
Isn't it ironic how the company is located on 84th avenue?
84 is the name of another lumber company
Man, I wish West Fraser Sundre's video was half as clear as this one. Hauling chips out of Albertan mills was something else.
"Notify your loader if your load has BEAN selected" lol 😂
Joe Petree nice one kiddo
Great video must stay safe at work...
this seems way to hard, compared how to works here in sweden, almost the same at the weight station go in on the computer do the stuff. drive to the loader, wait for ur turn while u wait u can unhock the straps over the logs so the loader can easly take ur logs of ur trucks.

1. I will never drive a truck onto any logging site let alone this one so I didn't need to watch this
2. I watched it anyways :S
I don't even work here
Damn I just watched a who video on log truck unloading 😂😂
Once they finally master AI drivers this video will be kept for historical purposes.
I'm not even a truck driver but this video still pissed me off.
And i thought minesites in australia were bad for oh and s shit.
Whats the name of those trucks?
TUMORs Ed log truck's!
lance henthorn ty
Why do none of those trucks have tiedown straps securing the load to the trailer!
You would do jail time for that in Europe!
Theweescot the have cables or rope. Just remember this video is in Canada. Here in Alabama these drivers would get a ticket for being stacked over there log supports.
Do you think this company intended for this many people to watch this video
Where is this located i wanna apply.
I laughed at their safety items they said you needed to wear while watching the driver leave his truck face first instead of using 3 point stance as I was taught to do. I have actually seen a video of a driver leaving face first face plant at a fueling station, which is why you should go down the other way.
Creetings from Finland... Same shit, different style..
OK i log with my dad i can come everywhere with him and i wear crocs and no hat, i dont know why its so complicated and you have to do all stuff yourself!
yeah the log company should have staff all over doing your paperwork not a truck drivers job to be a bloody accountant printing out paper work
Lol I live in grand prairie and my dads friend owns the lumber yard
Wow note to self, remember you f'ing TM9!
I haul different loads and logs
Not even a scaler, what a recipe for disaster.
eddie stobart drivers would fuck this up
I dont know why i watched this.
I have logs in high places…
probably hear that daily so I apologise.
Wow some of the comments here really show how ignorant the person's posts about job site safety is. DON'T always rely on the integrity and condition of equipment around you. Without OSHA the job's would be more dangerous and building's would be substandard built.
Bravo4699 obviously you had never dealt with buildings that are not built to code?
I load trucks with a forestry crane, it is mounted on a truck, I am Chilean, I would like to travel to Canada to work there.🤠😎
They call those logs? Where I'm at we would push those up and burn them with the rest of the slash.
i really dont know why i watched the whole video
after wondering why i was watching at about half way through
Health n safety was created to stop poor people claiming against the corporation and so keeping profits at a maximum
Why am I watching this?

So many useless actions making timbers price higher....
Dope ass trucks
76 tons, impossible in Europe
Pounds! Not kg and even then... Still possible in Europe.
All vehicles must have proper documentation for license and permit once at a federal highway weigh station lol I'm kidding hi
Im 17 from Denmark and do nothing like this for work so why the F was this in my recommended section
The one thousen like
LOL my logyard is different

Maly Pivo well.. the video specifically says you tack each card onto each trailer. 3 trailers = 3 cards.
System should print front and back, though the human can turn it over.
лес по весу - бомжи )))

Whenever outside at a lumber yard, secured load of not, always wear protective gear

Why the fuck am I watching this
This place sucks, there’s enough rules here to make you go crazy !!!
This shit is fuckin tedious
