What if you don't have hot water to dilute the sugar.

You can add room temperature water with sugar but make sure you shake for awhile to ensure the sugar dissolves, the heat from the water just aids that process.

This is entirely different than old fashioned. So why not give a name like French fashioned or Grey Goose Fashioned?
