Música, musicisti, talento e sopratutto studio. Come hai detto prima lo studio e la padronanza dello strumento ti rende libero di fare quello che vuoi. 😊

    Yeahh... Eccoci alla seconda reaction di questa band incredibile, sicuramente una delle più grandi della scena musicale internazionale e mia preferita in assoluto.
    Cosa dire di questo pezzo? Le fioriture vocali di Jonah che svolazza senza pudore fra note non umane, le pazzesche slappate di Henrik (assolutamente uno dei migliori bassisti viventi) che ti lasciano senza parole, le finezze di Aron, mago della batteria e della composizione...
    Hai ragione: moltissimi i generi da cui attingono, tutti assorbiti come spugne e rigettati a mare con un fiume di creatività che OGNI SANTA VOLTA ti ammalia e sorprende. E dici a te stesso: "Ma non è possibile!".
    Le modulazioni, i cori, l'inserimento di elementi musicali e tempi insapettati, il coinvolgimento che la loro musica riesce a creare, il ritmo irresistibile... Mamma mia!
    Sono felicissima che un musicista italiano stia finalmente dedicando delle reactions a questa band pazzesca. Sei il primo in assoluto in Italia e dovresti continuare a farne, senza limitarti solo a quelle vocali, perché la tua conoscenza della musica è molto più vasta (e si vede) e perché far conoscere dei musicisti di questo calibro è assolutamente di valore.
    Mi sono divertita moltissimo, non solo perché sei brillante e acuto nelle tue analisi, ma anche perché è super spassoso guardare le facce che fai mentre ascolti il pezzo.
    Loro sono già stati in Italia a Milano, proprio un paio di mesi fa. Adesso sono in tour in altre città europee. Sai che attualmente sono prodotti da Quincy Jones? I crediti finali dei loro video, oltre ad essere divertenti, ti danno diverse info sul pezzo.
    Per la prossima reaction, come avevo suggerito in precedenza, andrei su Rock You, anche se ce ne sono veramente tantissime che valga la pena di ascoltare. Ma i pezzi live lasciali alla fine. Quelli in studio sono TROPPO belli per non essere ascoltati prima.
    Giacomo però ohi... non farci aspettare un mese, please!☺ 19:14

    Grazie per la reaction dei Dirty Loops !!!! fantastici musicisti, io gli chiamo "I Marziani"!!! vengono da un'altro pianeta... tastiera con dei cambi di accordi pazzeschi, il combo basso/batteria è da urlo ... inarrivabili per noi poveri mortali.. chi suona un strumento capisce la difficoltà tecnica che sono capaci questi ragazzi !!!!

    Another great reaction. Thanks!
    As @fiddlestix3025 has already pointed out, Jonah (keyboard/vocals) had sung quite a bit before, just not lead, but as his parents both work as choir directors (in the Swedish church, which is mostly classical music and chamber choir style) he did sing choir (again, mostly classical) since a very early age.
    Regarding Henrik's (bass) original style, he often points out that the way he plays with Dirty Loops is different and quite unorthodox because the bass parts are partly written by the other two, who don't think at all like a bass player, and then it's up to him to figure out how to realise those parts on the bass. He said (in an interview in Bass Magazine, iirc) that at one point he wanted to simplify the bassline of their song "Work Shit Out", but Aron (drums), who had written the part, was all "Nope, you just have to figure it out!". And he did. 😁

    • @lottawiklund8606
      @lottawiklund8606 Рік тому +2

      And you're totally right about them having put a lot of work into it. They often say that they work very slowly, because they are perfectionists (especially Jonah and Aron, apparently). The way they work with Dirty Loops, is by writing a simple pop song, and then picking it apart and rearranging every bar into oblivion (or "destroying everything" as Henrik likes to put it, haha). They actually don't compose by jamming or playing together, but mostly compose it all before even picking up the instuments. Crazy bunch of dudes.

    • @lottawiklund8606
      @lottawiklund8606 Рік тому +2

      Also, Henrik (bass) often says that one of the reasons his bass playing is so unorthodox with Dirty Loops, is because not all of the bass parts are written by a bass player, and when the other two come up with great parts, he just has to figure out how to realise them on bass. Sometimes he wants to simplify it a bit and they're all "no, no, no, just figure it out". 🤣 I guess that spills over into his playing in general too, as you can quite often clearlly hear it's him playing when he's playing with others, even if it's not even half as extreme as it is with Dirty Loops.

      @fiddlestix3025 Рік тому +2

      Great comments, Lotta, especially shedding light on Henrik’s playing style. I agree, he’s a very unique bass player, with an amazing willingness to learn and to adapt to different styles, and to other people’s expectations, isn’t he?
      To me, he’s such an inspiration 🔥

      @@fiddlestix3025 And I'm clearly going senile as I, for some reason, managed to write that part twice. UA-cam was behaving weirdly yesterday, and was auto-deleting my comments over and over, and I must have mixed it up completely when retyping them. 🤦‍♀I clearly remember having written three different comments from the beginning, but now there are only really two, as I retyped something that was already in the first comment. I wonder what bit I missed retyping? Can't even remember just a day later, hahaha.

      @@lottawiklund8606 yes, that’s UA-cam for you, since often comments only appear a while later (or never 👎).
      So no worries, Lotta.
      I appreciate all of your comments and thoughts, always, even twice, they’re The Best, so type away! 🤣☺️

    It is incredibly nice and fun to get all your comments. You are so good at hearing stuff, and then talk about it in a very understandable, inspiring, and let's say "nerdy" way (in the very best meaning of the word, like super enthusiastic and interested expert way).
    Henrik and Aron practiced a bit together when they studied (quite a bit). I am sure someone else can give you details on that.
    Now that you have a good sense for what Dirty Loops "is", I would recommend Work shit out as the next melody, so you get to hear that Jonah is a pianist, and you get another song with several influences, and a little drum solo, with Jonah and Henrik adding to it in a lovely way (in my very humle opinion).
    Being on the other end from you when it comes to understanding music, I find it to be a lot of fun listening to Dirty Loops, because I have to work so hard to hear even a little bit of what the do! I can always find something new, and you help me greatly, thanks for that!

    This was one fantastic reaction and analysis, many thanks for that! 🙏
    Someone said once of Jonah that he must have swallowed a guitar fretboard or a keyboard :)
    And although Jonah never sang lead vocals until later in life, but he’s been doing backing vocals, as well as singing in choirs, from an early age.
    His parents both worked with choirs and took him to rehearsals from his earliest days.
    So he grew up with music all around him in the family, also from uncles and aunties, and he says it gets very nerdy around the table when they meet for dinner ;)
    His first instrument though is the piano, that’s true. He studied classical piano since childhood, and later switched to jazz piano.
    His sense for harmonies and composition is totally amazing (oh yeah, and he sings all of the vocal layered himself). But so are Aron’s (drums) and Henrik’s (bass) musical composition and arranging skills. All three of them have a big input with their various songs and are creative masters.
    As someone else mentioned, Aron and Henrik used to stay behind during their music ‘conservatory’ days, after hours, and practise together for many hours, just locking in together. They also had the same teacher for some time, who pushed Henrik hard and sometimes extended his lesson to a four-or five hour session…an amazing teacher, obviously. Yes, he said that Flea from the Peppers was a big influence for him in the beginning, but later also Jaco Pastorius, Wooten, M Miller and many others. I think he’s picked the best from each one and came up with his very unique, personal style of bass playing -like no other 🔥
    (He’s also a fantastic jazz bassist.)
    TOTO was definitely another great influence for Dirty Loops, as was everything they grew up listening to in the 80s and 90s.
    For Jonah a big influence too was his strong classical background.
    Yes, that video was shot after the recording, but they managed to make it look like easy fun ☺️
    Like you, I think a lot of hard work went into writing and recording this track, as with all of their tracks.
    Still, they all say it has to be fun to play music together. And I think that’s what happens in their live concerts. They’re having fun, and are obviously good friends. “Technique sets you free” -so true with these guys… this song is an absolute explosion.
    Such great observations from you, Jack, not just about his voice but about the musicality of the band…how they can mix different genres with ease…yes!! And how they are an inspiration for us to become better musicians, too….
    Also important to mention is Simon Petrèn, their mixing and mastering engineer. He does such an amazing job in recording that perfect sound…
    More showcases of Jonah’s vocals:
    “Breakdown”
    “World On Fire”
    and of Aron’s drumming:
    “Work Shit Out”
    Then there are their collaborations with guitarist Cory Wong, with their version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and “Follow The Light”. I’ll put all the links below :)
    Cheers, and thanks again for opening my mind 🙏

      Yeah Mike, there’s so much of both of those guys in Henrik’s style of playing. He says that Flea was one of the reasons why he picked up the bass. He used to play piano before that-.
      But he also mentioned being influenced by Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pistorius and a whole lot of other bass greats.
      Hadrien Feraud is another one he mentioned…
