Welcome to Dirty Loops - hope to see your reaction to many more - genre bending incredible musicmakers of life affirming lovely stuff whilst showing their virtuosity

That was one fun reaction 😂
Thanks to Jimmy (?) suggesting it.
This song hits hard, glad you appreciated it 👍
As others have mentioned, Aron (drums) is not just a great drummer, but co-writes all of Dirty Loops’ songs including choruses, vocal lines and a lot of Henrik’s bass lines, composes orchestral things in other collabs, and edits all of their music videos.
And yeah, all three of them are off the charts musical monsters.
Jonah’s vocals, thinly veiled in a shiny pop package here, are out of this world.
Henrik kills every style there is.
Him and Aron studied jazz and rock at the music conservatory; Jonah has more of a classical/jazz background, but in the end all three are masters of every style you could imagine.
Check out their song “Work Shit Out”. It features a nasty drum solo by Aron… 🔥🔥🔥

I'm a huge fan of these guys, and you should check out their piece Work Shit Out next.
    Rock on, Mark!

Oh, and BTW, how are the guitars at all twinkly, if there's no guitar? Can a bass be twinkly?

Oh trust me a bass can be twinkly!!

Aron isn’t just a drummer. Read the credit, and you see he does the video editing as well. He and another guy also write classical music. I do think Jonah reminds me a bit of (a young) Mick Jagger! Nice reaction!
Maybe you should check out more from Dirty Loops? But be warned, once you start, it can be hard to stop, but we will be with you on the journey, for sure! Maybe you should go with Follow the light next. It’s nice, but is not the typical DL style; it’s a collab with Cory Wong and an amazing horn section ( partly played with Prince). Now that the bands are in different places, admire Aron video editing as well as the music.

You should check out their latest release “Run away” to experience some bass playing you’ve never heard before before. Promise.
And there’s so much of very different but always high quality stuff they’ve done during the ten years between Hit me 2014 and Run away 2024. Strong recommendations are Work shit out, Next to you, Rock you and their collab with Cory Wong with brass doing an amazing cover of Thriller.

Great reaction. You definitely need to check out more of their music. There' s much more and they'll surprise you time after time. Henrik Linder on bass is probably the best bass player in the world right now - check out their latest release "Run away"... They have a great sense of humor!

"when did Robert Smith get so good at bass?" had me rolling 🤣
as a former aspiring bass player myself, i can certainly appreciate your simping for bassist (i do it myself). but i can't help but feel like you're a bit biased against drummers (we've already established previously that your drummer can't keep time, so i can't help but feel that may be coloring your opinion).
there are only a sparse handful of drummers i can immediately recognize by sound alone; but those guys absolute MAKE the bands they are in , and are the glue that hold it all together.
also, Slipknot taught us not to underappreciate dudes simply hitting things with sticks (before them, i never knew how much i needed bat-hitting-keg in my life)
if you like super techie virtuosos , should give Animals as Leaders a listen.

The Slipknot keg is one of the finest things to happen in music, I’ll die on that hill haha

I love watching people discover Dirty Loops, the 3 baddest musicians on the planet. Every song is a freakin' masterpiece and masterclass. They don't stick to any particular genre. When you're that good, you do whatever you want.

Love the way you set this one up to get maximum retaliation from drummers and their fans. Anything to ensure engagement.
It was indeed a great suggestion and fun reaction especially bringing Robert Smith into play. Although The Cure has been active from 1978-current. It would appear this young Robert is moonlighting here from a different timestream/reality, as suggested - great observation.

Other Dirty Loops suggestions “Worn Shit Out” for Animal drum solo. “Run Away” for Eddie van Halen-esque bass and “Follow the Light” collaboration with Cory Wong for in the pocket rhythm guitar and horns.
