@jacobwest7 you're describing the 2000s Kamen rider series, which is basically power Rangers for adults but even that show got silly in the 2010s because people just like that more
Honestly, I feel like that’s one of the biggest issues too. Because I hear many audiences stated that the movie was good when the more dramatic scenes between the actors were going down. Specifically, they were hanging out like the characters in Breakfast Club. Unfortunately, when you’re dealing with the whole Power Rangers part of the story, it seems like the director didn’t know how to mesh them properly.

I don’t think it “forgot” that it was a Power Rangers. They just wanted to build up to it and have the team earn their suits and zords. With that said, i agree that there were some poor design choices. I did like the zords though.
@@captainamerica6545 i get that, i just mean they didn't implement it properly, it was too slow a burn and too all over the place, just didn't stick the landing it could have
Although they very clearly cut out the Mighty Morphin’ part of the song and tried to distract us from it with slapstick comedy with that Blue Triceratops Zord
I find the “strong toy sales” part hilarious considering the fact that the movie toys shelf warmed like crazy. They did not sell well at all. Especially compared to other PR toy lines.
Mismatched expectations: fans expected a relatively literal translation of the show's tone to film, while the crew wanted to tone down the series' excess in favor of something with a more dramatic edge.
People complain about how Hollywood preferred spectacle over character driven stories then they get one and complain. This was a great movie with a great cast and the fact we didn’t get a sequel with Tommy is criminal.
You have to read the room though. Power Rangers is not the franchise that people come to looking for a deep character driven story. It’s campy fun action targeted at 10 year olds.
I initially skipped out on it because the trailers made it look like an MTV melodrama. When I finally saw it, I thought it was pretty good. Not perfect, but overall solid. Just wait until the reboot does happen. If it's bad, everyone will declare that this movie is owed an apology.
Really enjoying your videos. Suggestion for future ones, instead of saying "this year" say what year it is (2024). As the years go by it'll get confusing as if everything is "this year" it'll be outdated.
Fun fact: that theme song needle drop wasn't originally there. It was added in based on test screening audience feedback. That's why it's just an older version of the track--it was much too late in the process to make a new version. Plus, Haim Saban doesn't really care for Ron Wasserman's work and has denigrated it to his face on multiple occasions. That's why Ron didn't score the original movie either
I did not know this, but I'm honestly not totally shocked since Saban was a music producer. I can see him being so extremely critical of another's music.
It's funny how you mentioned they wanted to have a mega franchise like the MCU and the costumes where Iron-Man knock-offs, because that's exactly what they should've done, mimic the first Iron-Man movie! Think about it. The campy dialog but serious themes, the fun of the silly concept combined with the gritty action and aesthetic. It's almost a no-brainer. It's a damn shame they mimic everything BUT the core parts of what made the first MCU films. DC and Warner Bros are guilty of that too.
@krazytube15 especially since power rangers was popular since the 80s. Could've done the guardians of the galaxy road and had played music while fighting. While thinking both power rangers and guardians of the galaxy are similar. Both have a comedy angle with serious action when necessary.
Seriously, where is the bright colors? Power rangers should always be super Bright and Colorful even when you do the darker Storylines like with Lord Drakkon
Funny enough there IS a gritty and serious Power Rangers short film on youtube that was made years ago that was actually better than this movie. It can be done, it just wasn't well executed
Japan is approaching 50 years of Super Sentai while the US has 30 years of nostalgia towards Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and none of the subsequent series in the franchise. Wasting millions of dollars on a Movie adaptation of a show only seen as "cheesy" or "camp" isnt going to net you hundreds of millions of dollars on its own. Super Sentai has a movie every year too so this bloated cash grab is a hilariously unstable way to make movies.
8:25 I agree! They looked way too similar and barely represented their zords. They never even busted out their signature weapons; they all had the same gauntlet swords; which were cool but I wanted more.
I really enjoyed this movie- it had problems and was a very slow burn, but by the third act it just felt right- the Rangers and Zords in action went harder than it should have. Even in the slow moments, they spent it developing the characters and making them feel "real" instead of just high school stereotypes with one or two key attributes. So I appreciate it for trying.
This movie was way better than it should be! That is what I tell people when I recommend it. It should have been a trainwreck between the changing writers, inconsistent tone, and re-design of the suits/zords. I still watch it once a year. And it must have done something right because, to my surprise, my gf naturally put her phone down to watch it with me pretty early in the movie. It may have felt like The Breakfast Club, but it was a decent rendition of it thanks to the actors.
Unfortunately from what I heard the Power Rangers as a whole isn't doing so well, it just seems like Hasbro immediately gave up on the Power Rangers despite being the ones that bought it. The comics adaptation is doing pretty well and there's gonna be a fun arcady beat-em up coming out but aside from those there hasn't been that much news about a new movie or show.
@@Gat720Duait wasn't just Transformers that suffered, it was also Pacific Rim as well. The Last Knight and Uprising didn't help themselves by also being awful movies but they also didn't draw in the audiences either.
You can portray this franchise in a serious manner. I mean Transformers did it and even tho those weren’t all good, Bay’s aesthetic did reinvent the series for a new generation.
Your thoughts on the movie are the same as mine critique wise, except I'm also a HUGE PR fan so the movie was far below average to me. For some reason instead of adapting Mighty Morphin' properly, the writers made an action-adventure Breakfast Club. I was immediately turned off by it at the very start when the prank was happening. Consistently in every Power Rangers series the Rangers are chosen for being upstanding, moral people. In fact it's kind of a joke that the MM Rangers in particular were almost TOO perfect, always volunteering and raising money for charity. No reason why the movie cast couldn't have the same backgrounds and sweetness of the OGs.
To be fair, Dino Thunder had a Breakfast Club set up. But that was only in the first episode, and one of them only got detention because the principle was literally evil. Plus we still got a fight scene in it.
I quite liked the movie and how it tried to develop its characters a little more than what Mighty Morphin did. A thing Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and even later seasons of Power Rangers show us is that this cheesy stories can have serious stories with deep and interesting characters and even dark themes. I do hope that whatever the next big Power Rangers project is embraces how silly the concept is without compromising while still telling a good story.
One of those movies that has a really awesome cast that does a really good job. It gave me Chronicle vibes, those teenagers who find an underground rock or whatever and then get powers, it definitely was trying to be dramatic like Chronicle. That movie The Signal had the same type of dynamic happening. But then it also reminded me of an Avengers movie, but just in a small town instead of giant cities. I enjoyed it though.
I saw it in theaters and didn’t like it much. I liked the reimagined characters sorta. But the product placement was bizarre with the donuts. Also, I didn’t like the zords or the megazord. It just looked like someone had too much time playing with CGI and created a mess with it.
So they had the First Class writers for this at one point, and fumbled that? That’s so sad to hear, dude. I actually enjoyed this movie when it dropped. It’s not great, but it was a fun watch and I really believed it could’ve gotten better had it continued. This could’ve been so cool had everything went well.
They completely altered the formula and removed the essence of what fans loved about PR. 1. The camp and the cheesy elements 2. The spandex suits 3. The rubberzords with stuntman inside. Not a fan of the overuse of CGI 4. The rangers are meant to be good not teenagers with a lot of problems and baggage
Being a 13 yr old in 2015 (man what a great time to be a teenager) who grew up on power rangers as a younger child I really enjoyed the cast, the effects, and that’s all I really need personally 😂. Good cast and good effects, ofc the story is 3rd in impact for me
Personally I felt it was a good start. The main problem was there was not much Power Rangers in a power rangers film, but somehow I was okay with it. I liked it and would have loved to see more. As it stands, I give it a see every couple of years and enjoy it. Rita was sort of weird in it and Zordon felt more nasty than a wise mentor type, but that is okay. This was thumbs up in my book.
I love this movie for what it is. But they should have gone for a more campy and fun tone with serious elements like Sam Raimi's Spiderman or Guardians of the galaxy. Instead they tried to be a dark realistic masterpiece like Nolan's Dark Knight trillogy
I did like the movie, but I know I can't call it a good movie. Where the movie really shined for me was in the bonding that all of the characters went through. You can feel that growth in their relationships, even if it is cliché.
I was a hardcore fan of my wee days. It was pretty campy, like you said. I'm sure they should of leaned in with the camp. Buckaroo Banzai comes to mind.
Great this popped on my feed I've been developing spec project with power rangers I'm going a more mature route with elements of comedy and heart so watching this film was very insightful
I've only seen this film once (but I _have_ seen the OG '90s one a few times). Here's my top flop reasons for the 2017 one (⚠SPOILERS!): 1. This movie *blew their whole casting budget* on Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. 2. The whole *[red ranger is?/was? Zordon]* thing seemed like a budget cut/cop-out...or just lazy story writing. 3. The *Zords melting together* to form the Megazord. They couldn't bother to animate a Transformers-esque Voltron-connecting-pieces scene? They wanted to merchandise so badly, but they skimped on that opportunity? 🤦♂ 4. The cringe that was the *Krispy Kreme* reference(s). I get it's a 90s reference, but geesh KK was the new hot thing for about a month, tops. I have no idea how they're still a thing in 2024. 5. The audacity of putting a *fraction-of-a-sec cameo* by the og pink and green ranger actors in a movie of this poor caliber [compared to the 1995 one].
There was so much I liked about the movie and was so upset that it was bogged down with some major flaws. As a fan, I was able to look past them, but it was clear that the majority of audience wouldn't stop noting it. (Looking at you Krispy Kreme...) There was so much room to improve upon but first impressions are hard to do again and it's just so aggravating that this movie didn't get the appreciation it's getting now.
I saw it in theaters with my brothers since we were huge power ranger fans as kids. We didn't think it was bad, but also thought it wasn't as great as the show was when we were kids.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that remembers seeing the 6 sequels spanning 2019 and 2030 that were announced on IMDB. That was crazy to see. 3:49 Also just a correction, but Letterboxd scores are out of 5, not 10.
yah i thought the power rangers was ok, the visuals were really cool but it just felt like a very safe story, i would have had no idea they were planning on making more movies if you didnt tell me, cuz it sure didnt feel that way
I remember seeing the trailer for this film and all my friends who haven’t watched power rangers since the OG were extremely excited. Me tho I wasn’t really feelin it and even after watching it I just thought it was okay. This movie wasn’t for me and I’m okay with that, still wished it got a sequel for the folks who did love it
In my opinion the jinxed this movie when they announced that this would get 6 to 7 sequels, like I remembered when this article came out and I was like why the hell would they say they should have waited to see how this movie did before getting ahead of themselves 🤦
I’ve said this so many times and I’m glad there’s a video highlighting it. Outside of the obvious financial flop. They used the complete wrong direction and formula for this movie. You don’t need 2 hours of movie for the power rangers to become power rangers! It’s a waste! And what’s worse, the correct formula has been shown over and over and over again and they still used the wrong strategy Orgin Hero movies where the hero becomes the hero and actions starts mid way through the movie and it works: Batman begins Spider-Man 1 (Tobey) Iron Man Man of Steel Superman (Reeve) All these examples and they still used 2 hours to for high schoolers to become power rangers.
y'know i'm gonna sound like that "umm actually" guy but as a huge fan of it's original counterpart, super sentai, i feel like this movie is just a huge spit on the franchise, for the comparison it's like inviting over you friend to help you decorate your house, and he start doing whatever he wants and moving all the furtnitures like he sees feat, almost claiming it's his house, so really what Saban did with super sentai. this movie is what Saban wanted to do since the release of 2007 transformers being modernizing it and adding more "mature" topics, except a great part of sentai and p.r is the fun and cartoonish look to the designs and the robots, and what the majority of people and the producers don't understand is that there was already mature and serious subjects that the original shows talked about, like time force (or timeranger because they essentially kept the same storyline for the most part), so this movie is a big failure because the people behind it didn't understand the core of the material they used, they wanted to do a "dark and serious" version but thought that to achieve it they needed to make scrappy overdetailed suits and a zord that is so messy and too humanoid that if i showed that design to an outsider he would probably think it's a transformer or pacifiic rim robot, even tho the 2007 transformers had some kibble part for us to understand what it transformed into and were overall really great design (mostly because they reinvented some concepts with original idea like for the decepticons they went all on giving insectoid features to the decepticons and more humans lineaments to autobots)
That's because the character dynamics were very much in line with 2012's Chronicle. Also, gritty reboots/adaptations were at an all time high from 2010 to about 2017 (Teen Wolf, Riverdale, etcetera).
I am a hardcore rangers fan. I've followed the show since as far back as I remember and never at any point fell off. I have a borderline encyclopedic knowledge of this damn franchise. And I personally adored this movie. It was everything I could have ever wanted out of a more mature version of the show and the characters were very welcome reinterpretation of their 90s counterparts, and the more mature tone fit for what long time fans have been wanting for years without losing itself to the zack snyder unnecessary edge. The 1 major complaint that I have is the same one as everyone else, and that's rhe lack of morphing. They absolutely could have and should have suited up much earlier and used that as an opportunity to bond. Having to earn their powers was a weak literary and budget saving tool that ultimately backfired.
One thing that I didn't like about this film was the time skipping; that didn't make any sense. I also didn't like how it was Mighty Morphin in modern day and how the megazord looked sooo different.
I’m a casual power rangers fan myself. The only shows I grew up watching were Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, S.P.D., and mystic force. I get why fans couldn’t get into this film, but for ME, the main cast was so charming and likable, I wasn’t constantly looking at my watch saying “ when are they gonna suit up?!” The filmmakers should be commended for at least trying to do something different from the show in terms of tone and style. It’s not for everyone, but in my opinion it’s worth checking out to see if it is.
The pacing could've been better. The action really doesn't get going until the final half hour. The designs of the Rangers' suits & the Megazord were ugly. I did like RJ Cyler's performance as Billy who has autism & the duo cameo with Jason David Frank & Amy Jo Johnson.
I personally think marketing was also part of the issue of the movie, at least in my country, the trailer launched less than 3 weeks before the release of the movie, alongside "Logan" which hold the box office for more than a month here, PR didn't had much luck on it.
2:50 ok but can we talk about how utterly depressing those statues look? Their colors are so washed out, you can really see how drab the palette is when you look at the carpet just before this shot, it looks like something out of an old christmas sweater, and WHAT ARE THOSE POSES??? They range from "been standing here so long my legs are falling asleep" to "god, why did I even wake up this morning", they look like my coworkers when it's been a long day but there's still 4 hours left, these statues are being overworked, I tell you
I'm so glad I saw this in theaters, I remember getting so pumped when the twenty one pilots song came on 😄 it's a shame it never got the sequel it so well deserved.
The 2017 Power Ranger movie was solid. I liked it actually enough so that i wanted to see more of it. Yes, it was an origin movie but this was okay since they clearly wanted to target people that didn't know much about this franchise. Unfortunatly the ran against another Disney live action remake, which were still running strong back then. So the movie sadly was a mild flop and we never saw more of the new rangers, which i actually liked - they were good updates to the known characters.
I think the want for a gritty/mature tone came from a lot of enthusiasm for the Power/Rangers fan film directed by joseph khan back in 2015. It portrayed older versions of the rangers who were grizzled amd scarred from the intergalactic wars they fought, which caused them to separate from each other and ill-prepared to fight an ancient villain.
Honestly, I heard from deadline and they’re gonna make a live action in Ninjago film writers who did the show, this might be replacing the Power Rangers sequel, but I doubt it’s not gonna be like the same tone
Can we stop doing gritty, teen-angst remakes of classics? It hardly ever works. The last media that really captured the cheesy/comical to noir-grit for teens/YAs was Teen Wolf. But that ended like 7 years ago. That generation of “kids” are now all in their late 20s to early 30s.
A weird thing is that this movie was completely sold out all opening weekend at every showing at every theater in my metro area. I couldnt get a ticket, which hadn’t happened to me in over 20 years - since the opening weekend of Independence Day! So I thought this thing was gonna be HUGE! … But no it was just weirdly very popular in my city lol
They went a little too crazy. The suits, the megazords, and honestly a subpar story. If they stayed a little more honest to the original then it would’ve been fine
A gritty dark aesthetic looking art style and tone. Not enough jokes and fun moments. Probably not the best kind of style to restart a Power Rangers franchise that's aimed at children and comic book fans.
I was a huge Power Rangers fan as a kid, loved the Mighty Morphin era, and some of the newer iterations, usually involving the OG, Tommy Oliver. This film was pretty decent but it was way too slow, they also used the music from the 1995 Power Rangers movie not the Original by Ron Wasserman... in the ONLY MOMENT that felt like the classic series, when the Zords were assembling, and it was very brief. Having the lore as well of Zordon being the ancient Red Ranger and Rita being the Green one was cool, but it wasn't explored at all after the opening scene, which is rather annoying, having the Green Ranger in the film especially as a villain, maybe in the later half would've been the best way to go, because he was and still is the BEST thing the franchise ever did, it would probably have drawn more people in. I think they knew this and tried to tease it for a potential sequel but we're never getting that. Around the same time the BOOM studios comics were doing really well, and they'd managed to bring the Mighty Morphin era into the present and have it feel nostalgic but up to date, they focussed on telling really good stories... especially having their best Ranger, Tommy Oliver being the overarching villain 'Lord Drakkon'. The idea of fusing his two Ranger powers, Green and White into one was great, make him more powerful and more villainous, like he'd never turned back... That made those comics so damn good, and if they have any sense they'd adapt that into any future production they may do. Also I'm so glad you actually pronounced Saban how I would... even if it's wrong. Lol
I think they need to make the movies look more like the series. The movies always seem to go with crazy over the top looks for the zords and power Rangers. That and they seem allergic to good scripts. Don't target adults. Target power Rangers fans.
I like this movie. I remember watching it in a theater with less than 15 people. It was amazing. 10/10. But then the same day I went to one of the last showings of Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson and had one of the most stressful experiences because 1) the theater was PACKED. 2) some dumb teenagers took flash photos of the screen in the scene I wanted to see the most (Beauty and the Beast's dance).
For me I never thought this movie was bad. I just didn't really ever want power rangers to look like Marvel and be all CGId up. While the designs are a cool rework of the classic MMPR stuff. In my mind it over complicates in a quest to make it make sense. In the end this movie felt kinda like the first live action transformers. Like yeah... this is TECHNICALLY a power ranger. I can see it. But you've gone too far trying to make these designs look real. And you can definitely see that in the zords. And wtf were they thinking with Goldar. That being said. I would have genuinely liked to see a sequel. I think there was potential and getting to see them actually be rangers more would be fun.
Apologies for being that guy but Saban is pronounced SUH-bahn. Unlike the sports guy Nick Saban (SAY-bun). Good video though!👍🏾

Fun fact about that theme:
It's recycled from the 1995 movie. It's not even a new one; it's the same exact track. Not remixed or anything.
Sometimes you can't remix or replace the very theme that is associated with a franchise.
It technically is a remix of Wasserman's original theme song from MMPR.

Good point, I'll do that for any future videos
I think most studios think franchise before the title page of a script is even written.
Which is wild because Wasserman's music is iconic to the franchise and every millennial can tell you that we get hyped as soon as we hear it.
Imagine if the movie was directed by James Gunn. How popular would the franchise be as it would rival Guardians of the Galaxy if done right.
Never thought of this. Damn they really fucked over this franchise lol
@krazytube15 especially since power rangers was popular since the 80s. Could've done the guardians of the galaxy road and had played music while fighting. While thinking both power rangers and guardians of the galaxy are similar. Both have a comedy angle with serious action when necessary.
Power Rangers are colorful, kinetic, and cheesy. The mistake was a try to make them gritty and serious
@@Neiri-qg2wk I know what your referring too. That one still had a better depiction of the Power Rangers Suits though tbh compared to this one's
@@dominiqueodom3099 100, the suits were perfect in that short movie
They copied the DCEU more than they copied the MCU.
I really loved this movie. Even with the slow start
Big facts
Still bummer this never got a sequel, so much potential
I loved how the alien language sounded when Zordon spoke it
The "It's Morphing Time" by Brian Tyler still is a masterpiece and makes me think what could have been The Power Rangers Movie!
I personally really enjoyed the 2017 movie. Billy was incredible and i loved trini in it.
Was sad it wasn't much of a success at the box office.
I'm 41. So I remember watching the original Power Rangers. I went on opening weekend and enjoyed it. Still do. Wish there were sequels
I thought it was pretty decent, but yea, could have done more of the Power Rangers in a Power Rangers movie.
The merchandise sales for this film we're also abysmal. No little kid was buying that crap because all the toys were garbage
It didn't help this movie either that Hasbro's other giant mecha franchise was suffering as well. People were generally done with giant robots.
@@Jes9119 I don't know about people, but big studios sure are.
I really enjoy the quality of your videos and the consistency of uploads!
Those same writers also had an unmade script for the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot, but director Josh Trank wanted nothing to do with them.
I liked the movie but it had no ninja fight scenes. Which was the best part of the first series
They completely altered the formula and removed the essence of what fans loved about PR.
1. The camp and the cheesy elements
2. The spandex suits
3. The rubberzords with stuntman inside. Not a fan of the overuse of CGI
4. The rangers are meant to be good not teenagers with a lot of problems and baggage
4:20 I usually like when they put a Horse before the Carriage, but not when theres 6 sequels involved.
Being a 13 yr old in 2015 (man what a great time to be a teenager) who grew up on power rangers as a younger child I really enjoyed the cast, the effects, and that’s all I really need personally 😂. Good cast and good effects, ofc the story is 3rd in impact for me
It was fun. Elizabeth Banks kinda compares admirably to Kyoko Fukada in Yattermen.
One of my favorite new channels I’ve discovered recently. Been binging all your videos.
Really hope you make one of these videos on "Real Steel." Definitely had the right to become a franchise.
I remember actually liking that film, I'll have to revisit it
I love this movie for what it is. But they should have gone for a more campy and fun tone with serious elements like Sam Raimi's Spiderman or Guardians of the galaxy. Instead they tried to be a dark realistic masterpiece like Nolan's Dark Knight trillogy
It was such a dumb move to go to a grittier tone because people loved power rangers because it does not take itself too seriously.
Very interesting. I thought the casting was good but I just didn't like the outfits.
Fond memories of this, nice one Tom, good video
I've only seen this film once (but I _have_ seen the OG '90s one a few times). Here's my top flop reasons for the 2017 one (⚠SPOILERS!):
You should do a "Franchise That Never Was" video for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)! I would love to see you destroy that film! 😁🙏
I saw it in theaters with my brothers since we were huge power ranger fans as kids. We didn't think it was bad, but also thought it wasn't as great as the show was when we were kids.
No morphers, no teleportation, needed more fighting scenes.. I just don’t feel like typing the rest
I’m glad I’m not the only one that remembers seeing the 6 sequels spanning 2019 and 2030 that were announced on IMDB. That was crazy to see.
3:49 Also just a correction, but Letterboxd scores are out of 5, not 10.
2017 Power Rangers megazord, Goldar looked awful. It could’ve been more grounded without too much change from what already existed.
The series was fun, low budget and camp and thats why we loved it as kids
yah i thought the power rangers was ok, the visuals were really cool but it just felt like a very safe story, i would have had no idea they were planning on making more movies if you didnt tell me, cuz it sure didnt feel that way
I remember seeing the trailer for this film and all my friends who haven’t watched power rangers since the OG were extremely excited.
I hate when they say that stuff 6 films then never make a sequel hahah lloo
I love these kinds of videos
I’ve said this so many times and I’m glad there’s a video highlighting it. Outside of the obvious financial flop. They used the complete wrong direction and formula for this movie.
You don’t need 2 hours of movie for the power rangers to become power rangers! It’s a waste! And what’s worse, the correct formula has been shown over and over and over again and they still used the wrong strategy
Orgin Hero movies where the hero becomes the hero and actions starts mid way through the movie and it works:
Batman begins
Spider-Man 1 (Tobey)
Iron Man
Man of Steel
Superman (Reeve)
All these examples and they still used 2 hours to for high schoolers to become power rangers.
y'know i'm gonna sound like that "umm actually" guy but as a huge fan of it's original counterpart, super sentai, i feel like this movie is just a huge spit on the franchise, for the comparison it's like inviting over you friend to help you decorate your house, and he start doing whatever he wants and moving all the furtnitures like he sees feat, almost claiming it's his house, so really what Saban did with super sentai. this movie is what Saban wanted to do since the release of 2007 transformers being modernizing it and adding more "mature" topics, except a great part of sentai and p.r is the fun and cartoonish look to the designs and the robots, and what the majority of people and the producers don't understand is that there was already mature and serious subjects that the original shows talked about, like time force (or timeranger because they essentially kept the same storyline for the most part), so this movie is a big failure because the people behind it didn't understand the core of the material they used, they wanted to do a "dark and serious" version but thought that to achieve it they needed to make scrappy overdetailed suits and a zord that is so messy and too humanoid that if i showed that design to an outsider he would probably think it's a transformer or pacifiic rim robot, even tho the 2007 transformers had some kibble part for us to understand what it transformed into and were overall really great design (mostly because they reinvented some concepts with original idea like for the decepticons they went all on giving insectoid features to the decepticons and more humans lineaments to autobots)
I love the 3rd act in this movie, but my main problem with the film itself was that it felt like a 2012 film released in 2017.
Nice video 👍And well-polished. If you don’t mind me asking a question, how do you script your videos?
They range from "been standing here so long my legs are falling asleep" to "god, why did I even wake up this morning", they look like my coworkers when it's been a long day but there's still 4 hours left, these statues are being overworked, I tell you
I like most of the Power Rangers TV show, but the 2017 Power Rangers movie was not good at all
This is the second movie Elizabeth and Naomi have done together that’s flopped 😂 Those two are not a good duo.
3:49 Letterboxd ratings are out of 5, not 10
man i loved this movie. its not perfect but ive rewatched it a couple times and i still enjoy it. truly sucks its not getting a sequel.
Honestly I’m not the biggest power ranger fan but really enjoyed this. I hope it does eventually get a sequel in some fashion
Hasbro has Power Rangers, Transformers and GI Joe…I’m just saying that could be a fire crossover flick
Might as well have called them the Krispy Kreme Rangers because the product placement is mentioned more than the title of the movie.
My inner child's heart was broken by this atrocity
