With the red shirt and white hat, playing tambourine is famous Ed Bradley of 60 MINUTES fame. He was always a fan of these musical giants. "Ed Bradley is best known for his reporting on CBS News and his 25-year-long tenure with news magazine 60 Minutes. Born in Philadelphia, his career in broadcasting began by volunteering with Philadelphia radio news station WDAS-FM."
My parents weren't from there, but I was raised there, almost 50 years old, longer I get in the tooth, the deeper I find my home's music in my soul. You can keep your WAP, n modern music. Yall know nothing bout this.
Hey Lamba. Grits and fish drippings. I lived and worked in the french quarters for seven years. I would laugh my ass off whenever I heard this song. Neville brothers, the Meters, dont matter who did it.
I was there that day and I remember it well. I knew Charmaine Neville (the woman with the long hair singing with her Dad Charles) and she was a wonderful lady. Miss those moments in life.
New Orleans native who was in the crowd that day. EVERYONE was up and into it. There's a cemetery right by The Fair Grounds and I'll bet that they were up and dancing!
Due to pandemic and chemotherapy I haven't been able to go home to NOLA. This soothes my soul. Thank you Neville's, Prayers for your loss. Heaven is rockin'
It's such a magical place. I had the opportunity to spend my mid 20's until Katrina in Metairie/Bucktown and I often think I left my soul there. I moved on to Austin, TX and now Denver, CO but there is no place on earth like NOLA.
They can make the phone book be a jammin party! Lovin these guys for YEARS! My brother used to jam The Neville Brothers and Isley Brothers in late 60's early 70's. (My brother plays guitar) I learned at a very young age, music is a melting pot of race, genders, nationalities along with genres for all to enjoy and love. The Neville Brothers/family are a great example of this! I read in the comments Why aren't The Neville Brothers in the RRHOF? I've been wondering that for a while. Maybe it's time for a on line petition? Neville Brothers for The Rock Roll Hall of Fame!🙏
@@elizabethbuhler I moved to Austin, TX in 2005, just missing Katrina by months, but it was hard to watch my hometown get pummeled. I would have never moved though and hope to move back one day.
Can’t believe it’s been 34 years! Just like yesterday all the times we saw the Nevs since the beginning. Never forget Charles and Art! Seminal Nawlins!
How I miss them.......used to see them a couple of times a year.....met them and they autographed their book for me. Seeing them would put me on a high for days after. Will never be any like them again....Losing Charles and then Art.....a part of my spirit died knowing I would see them no more. Thank goodness for these videos.... Peace
@@Research0digo if we are all going to heaven or burn forever in hell, why did jesus talk about "the last days" and a new heaven and new earth, armageddon, great tribulation, and satan being done away with? Why would we need all of that if we ALREADY are going to heaven or hell right now? What's going to happen to the earth if there is a last days? Last days of what? If one feels these questions are offensive, that's a problem . If we believe in his kingdom, should it be right to be able to spread that message, and know where to find it in his word, the bible?
Sweet. Favorite songs of my little ones. Great family. Aaron steps back for his family. All families can get up on stage and be family..got to step back and put your apron on and “ make nice” as my Mommy would say. 🍀❤️
What a groove, I can't sit still!💃🏼 Love all of their voices and great musicians! Greetings from Sweden. 🇸🇪😊❤ p.s I first heard Aaron in my youth as he sang the most beautiful Ave Maria for the film Alive!
These folks are great. Discovered this video (thank you youtube) in Nov 2017 it's the very last music my special friend & I listened to before he passed 24 hours later. RIP KAM. Now I play it often in memory of him. Never gets old. 😊
I’ll come back here several times a year just to relive a time in my life that I can never even explain to people. New Orleans was a total different place I love it
I am so glad to find this! My brother lived and worked in New Orleans '90-92, and in '90 and '91, I got there from CA (driving one time) for one of the two weekends of NO Jazz & Heritage Festival, and saw incredible music both weekends (of course picked the best of the two weekends each year to attend). Could go on for hours about all the great musicians I saw, also at Antone's in Austin and Tipitinas in NO, on these trips. Enjoying this immensely, after being linked to it, after finding the Reggae Sunsplash performance of "My Blood" with Carlos Santana on YT (have the VCR of that, a must see). Thank You for posting!
Today will now be excellent. Detective work in Gods office. Just gone to new levels God says well done everybody 🩵 and now i can enjoy my day. Its beautiful day. 💘
I had the great honor of being the 420th like for this awesome vintage video! The Neville Bros. are so great! What a beautiful vibe! Thank you for posting this video😃☮🍄
I been in love with Charmaine for 30 years. Would go to snug harbor just so we could be together. She knew, I think ,that we all love her. But she made it feel like she was singing to me,

Man, this takes me back to GREAT times in my hometown. The Nevilles were THE way to close out the Jazz Fest. Even Ed Bradley was into it. :)
Was introduced in 87 when they joined grateful dead on stage in Pittsburgh PA♥️🔥🎈
