As a student attempting to get into medical college and having adhd I’ve tried sooo many things to focus and study but I guess I never had the willpower and strength coz I find myself failing and the cycle just repeats itself. For the people who work more efficiently without frequent breaks/ get in “the zone” very easily and for a long time: instead of doing pomodoro, just start with one task, and follow it through. Then, by the time you finish one thing, you’re too focused to stop. For longer reports, I will work as long as I can until I start to get tired/lose focus/get restless/bored. That way, instead of constantly breaking my focus every hour to take a break, I can ride out my efficiency until it’s done. With the shorter assignments, I could do many of them in one sitting, or take notes on multiple class lessons/chapters, or write multiple pages of a report. Then, take a break to eat a meal, or walk around, stretch, nap- whatever refreshes your brain, do it for up to an hour. Then sit down again, get focused again, and ride out the next wave.
This is essentially pomodoro, but instead of working with the idea of a break in mind, you work with the idea of getting stuff done. Great for people with very bad short term memory (like me), who will NOT remember what they were working on/thinking of before their break.

I have ADHD too and it's like a physical disability. My life changer was strictly moving all dopamine boosting activities to the end of the day so I don't fuck up my deficient dopamine storages (adhd) at the start of the day. Thanks for sharing ❤
