Prime Vinnie looks like this i guess. The bassist is just like "we are going into new territory here" . The displacements in the groove is very refreshing. Virgil must have been very influenced by this. And i can see a lot of Vinnie in Garstka as well.

Vinnie is so amazing and very cool. Go listen to track 11 "Spaceships" on the 1993 Zildjian Drummers track CD and tell me that doesn't blow you away !!
yeah! Spaceships! That's the first song that I heard that got me hooked on Vinnie. It's still my most favorite Vinnie performance ever. I heard that and Sting's Ten Summoner's Tales album on the same day. Back then, I was in awe that it was the same guy that played on that John patitucci track and Sting's album. Since then I tried to get my hands on any album w/ Vinnie's name on it..hahaha
The snare sounds amazing
Vinni's technic and sound is by far best ever!!
No, too many drummers have an incredible technique as well
he can play in 4 tie sigs at one time
Best drum solo for ages.
I can only imagine what a 30lb pizza attack would sound like.
If I’m not mistaken that’s the Dennis Chambers version

Groove + Pocket + Chops = Awesome!
he's literally perfect. I still have the dvd of this year's festival. scientists need to study this man.
Vinnie could play in the time signature of Pi
😂
Have loved this song for years!...
Man...Vinnie Calcutta made my day
His whole solo record is fantastic.
'Bruce Lee' is just awesome.
Can't believe I've never seen this guy before 😮(Eloy brought me here)
GOAT
Burnin' groove!!
Anyone that could play with Zappa is next level!
He was arguably the best Zappa played with

The true prog metal heir of Collaiuta is Elliot Hoffman of Carbomb
Seriously. Most underrated band and drummer on the planet.
Thd Best Of Thd Best.
Vinnie THE Goat, playing with traditional grip..... Try that, boys!
excellent
Da GOAT !!!
GOAT don't exist, esp in music
If there is someone who's speaking new words in the very same language, that, for sure, is Vinnie Colaiuta.
The album version is much more complicated but still trying to figure Vinnie's stuff out is really, really hard!!
The way Vinnie looks in 2024, the pizza won…and he’s still the best drummer ever
He will always be the GOAT
😂
Harsh but true
@@KONAMAN100 I think he’s looks better now 🙏
@@spagzs I think he's aged much worse than Weckl
Genial
Michael Landau
Weckl vibez 🥁❤️
No weckl vibes at all weckl rehearses all his licks and it sounds like it this was raw primal just going for it pure excitement
Landau could not be any cooler, effin monster!
Now I understand the reference on the left to Eloy Casagrande. GOAT!

I am wondering if this piece is inspired by Cult of Personality.
What's the time signature from 3:07 and onwards?
Its all 4/4 but displaced by a 16th note. Vinnie said it in an interview that he kind of random displaces the groove
sounds a little like Living Colour
👌
That's good then. Coz I used to sleep watching Travis. At least Vinnie keeps me awake.
20 lbs pizza perfectly Vinnie stylish
Why is bob odenkirk on bass?
What does one do to earn the nickname “the Alien “ ????
vinnie laying down the beat nice, thick and extra fat!!!!

Holy moley….
Anyone clapping to this??
not clapping to the guitarist, he only knows 4/4
David Garfield at one point in the song
Vinnie was put in a pod by his parents just before Krypton exploded.
4:32 flams? 😂
vinny makes peart look like a novice
That's 9 kilo of pizza right in your face
it's not even playing drums at this point it's like breathing
The 20lb pizza was no match to Vinnie.
