I hiked here back in late April. It was a Tuesday, sometime around the 25th or 26th. I was roadtripping from home in central Pennsylvania to Oklahoma City and found myself in central Missouri around 36 hours before I acutally needed to be in OKC. After doing some research on the fly after waking up in my car at the St. Clair rest area on I-44, I deciced to spend that day hiking Taum Sauk and Johnson Shut-Ins after reailizing they were not too far away. 65 degrees, light breeze, not a cloud in the sky, trees beginning to bloom, and barely anybody else around made for picture perfect hiking conditions. Mina Sauk Falls and Johnson Shut-Ins had plenty of water and were spectacular. That was easily one of the best recreational decisions I made this year. Finished the day driving through Mark Twain National Forest on MO-32, which provided great views of the sunset. The Ozarks made such a strong first impression that I ended up stopping at a bunch of other places in the Ozarks, and the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas, on my way back home. Now I cannot wait to return.

Thanks for sharing. My wife and I hiked it today. I felt my age on the way up. But well worth seeing the beautiful treasure that God has provided.

Thank you for an amazing and very informative video. I was there at the end of the 2021 summer and didn't hike to the falls because of no water. I am heading there tomorrow to do the loop and see the Falls. Thank you again for a great video.

Wonderful! I hope you enjoy the hike. With as much rain as we’ve had, the water should be gushing!

Thanks! We loved the area and hope to be back. We were really frustrated at the pixelization of the video. My final rendered copy looks clean and sharp but the UA-cam uploaded copy is super blurry (even the opening title graphic). I’m going to post something online asking for help - I have no idea why I keep having the issue. 😕

If I were a millionaire, I'd hire you two to do every trail in the US! My family and I can't wait to experience this one in person this coming weekend!

Very pretty hike! Love the greenness of the woods in spring! I prefer the more rugged national trails. I agree - waterfalls make for a more enjoyable hike! 😊 Definitely want to do this trail! Great video, guys!! 😊

Delightful video! Well done. 👍 So glad I watched it bc my husband and I are heading to the area next week and planned to hike some of Taum Sauk Mt. I would not have been prepared for the rugged parts had I not watched your video, so thanks! And I think after considering it we will wait and do that part of the trail next spring instead of next week (first week of August) so that we can enjoy the falls, too. Also I'm recovering from a back injury and need to heal a little longer before a rugged hike. But I look forward to it, and next week we will still be able to see Missouri's highest point anyway! --The video was really good quality, and despite a little pixilation here and there it has some nice, clear shots, especially the water falls and close-ups of the lovely wildflowers, rocks, creek, and puddles, etc. The aerial shots were good, too! I love that perspective added to the "feet on the ground" trail-view style of the video. Really well done!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment. The first part of the trail (up to the "highest point" marker) is super easy and paved. It is the rest of the trail (especially near the waterfall) that becomes more rugged. The pixelation of the videos was also driving me crazy because my source footage was clean. I finally figured out that I just need to edit at a higher resolution. UA-cam just wasn't doing a good job converting my original files. I have it (finally) figured out and our newer videos avoid the problem. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to correct the posts already up. Enjoy the hike and we hope you come back to our channel again soon. :)

I actually ran the trail. I hold one of the fastest times recorded running it.

Yeah, the word "hiking" is probably a bit of a stretch. :) Still absolutely beautiful area.
