- Living St. Louis producer Anne-Marie Berger visits Johnsons Shut-Ins State Park. The department of natural resources has been restoring the park since 2005 for its reopening in June of 2009. Greg Combs, project manager for the Department of Natural Resources, feels that it is important to maintain the landscape once destroyed by a breach of the Taum Sauk reservoir on December 15, 2005. Water destroyed the vegetation neighboring the pump station. Newly restored trails, orientation center, and camp ground facilities are set for the reopening.
Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park is in Reynolds County on County Road N off of State Highway 21.. thanks for the video.... my parents lived just about 1/2 a mile up the road from the shut-ins after my father retired.
I just returned back from Ironton,Mo. and had been to Johnson's-shut-Ins with my parents back on the 1990s so happy that its now reopend once agian...
I have a 1965 old Movie tranferred to Flip Video.
I found the video quite interesting actually. But what can one expect from a viewer who favorites a silly rap song about bed time featuring an adult with teddy bears. I can't wait to get time to visit the park & see the changes.
Are you really so interested in who I am that you looked up my "favorites" in video? HA HA HA! Either I must be fascinating or you sure are bored!
Has zero information about the restoration.
Ameren sucks so bad. I can't find words for how I feel about that company.
