I love how much different this interview was vs. his Nine Club one, just for being very skaters vs. street skaters.
I know the None Club dudes appreciate vert skating, but you guys actually knowing first hand how crazy what he does actually is makes a difference!

This is where I first heard what happened and I’m still struggling to really understand it. Guys that are able to appear so much larger than life yet so down to earth at the same time are so incredibly rare. I have a lot of memories of watching and enjoying what Ken did with total amazement. What a tremendous and heartbreaking loss for so many people and communities that he was so passionately involved in. I hope his family can someday take some amount of peace in knowing that he passed doing something he loved and with people he loved and I doubt he would have had it any other way. RIP 43.

RIP Ken. I'm still not over his passing an absolute role model and legend who never stopped pushing the limits. Loved the stories the guys had about him. This episode went from sadness and reflection to pure joy the only complaint I have is it wasn't longer Jimmy is such a kind spirit and absolute ripper. The level of stoke Tony and Jason had while talking to him was infectious! What a fuckin podcast! Loved it! Shout out to the HvW crew for starting off each week with a roller coaster of emotions! I'll say it again I love this podcast! Like and Describe people!

Literally had to turn off to go watch some of he tricks JW was talking about. I watched Ellis at Prahran doing unimable tricks during the 90s and literally had to commend him for not trying to say "That's what I used to do." If anyone has an idea how JE commanded a ramp, maybe even thinking about miller and jesse as reference points to their ability to make logistical nightmares beautiful, they might understand why I bothered to mention it. When JE skated vert, there was no way you couldn't be impressed. And it was loud. #bulky .. but no one in Australia was more stylish. I wish ppl made mention of it more. 50/50% Miller/hosoi, 15% Jesse, and 10000% JE. As I said .. I never saw anyone command a ramp in my life as much. I just missed the 89/90 Ramp Riot II in person but JE can claim so many rights in SB that occasionally he hints to - yet he was so influential in Australian/world vert skating. When witnessing him being honest, I'm Sure many ppl think he's boasting. The local he mentions is Prahran ramp and its Metal. Supposedly 9' t w/ 1'vert but in many places didn't go to vert. Understanding what Hosoi, Miller, Jessee did on that ramp is impossible to comprehend unlesss you skated it or heard of its oddness first hand. Gary Valentine did 6ft madonnas to hang up. JE did at least 5ft fs Ollies to late hangup smash. Owe him that for giving me the intrigue to know it was possible. At one point, Tas and Ben Pappas were better than anyone skating vert. USA kinda changed that and you won't hear it unless you watch their doco. What JE leaves out does himself and Aussie vert skaters a disservice. On Dogtown, Chris Paine. Stylish as fuck. Renton Millar, way younger but is still high level to this day. From 14 to 48 he's been almost at the top of the game. If you love vert, check their moves out. You'll see. Great interview, hard to imagine it gets worse. So psyched on vert today.
