Oh, A fucking MEN to that, first time listener here and was dreading, absolutely DREADING the entrance of some kid growling shit over it. This musics is too elaborate to have stuff shouted on top.
Absolutely!!! Vocals have their place and this is not one of them. I am a lifelong drummer and heavy music listener and performer. This is thinking man's music. AMAZING!!!
Because it’s prog metal? Just because something is unique or creative doesn’t mean it’s going to be popular. Just because necrophagist is unique and clever doesn’t mean they are going to be put on Hits 1 lol That’s just part of being in a progressive or extreme metal band, you gotta understand that you aren’t really going to be popular :/
@@mason3872 Believe me, I know what you're talking about! I also play music lol It was a way to show appreciation. And Necrophagist yeah... I still read people whining for a 3rd album when the guy has a scientific career now. At least other bands are doing similar music (A loathing Requiem, etc...). In PT's case though, he studied music, there's no other band like it and Martin announced a 3rd album was in progress. Can't wait for this next masterpiece!
So I just realized that Salvador Dali has a painting called, Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening, in which said painting there are two tigers coming out of a pomegranate. Inspiration or coincidence I'll let you be the judge.
Pomegranate Tiger! Love your album covers, man. Oh, and the music, too. Just kidding, I like the music first. This kind of music could be the new classic of the future
This music is so good, I just found out a lot of their songs are in standard tuning and that blows my mind, really proves that tuning has nothing to do with sounding "heavy".
down tuning has everything and nothing to do with sounding heavy. You can down tune without sounding heavy and sound heavy in standard tuning. Its about what your intent is when you compose, and not how you tune your instrument.
If you wanna hear something neat, he actually seems to either have adapted a piece from Maurice Ravel right there at the outro, and then for a brief second again at 26:00, or he just managed to come up with it out of the blue. The piece @ 22:15 is the second movement of Gaspard de la Nuit, and at 26:00 he quotes the opening of the first moment. I'm wondering if there's a quote of the third movement somewhere, I'm listening closely now. BTW, there is no piece of classical music that I can recommend more if you've never heard it. The version here on YT played by Ivo Pogorelich is from another world.
every time I hear good progressive music written and performed by one person, I can't help but think" man, they must've listened to a lot of cloudkicker.
Keep this sound up. These two albums just melt. Don't pull an Intervals and have a tech gnar gnar feel then go get you a singer who sounds like a 14 year old boy. Keep up the progressive god grooves. Melt those fucking faces!
So this is awesome, and I've only heard of a couple of the suggested acts that come up below it. I think you just sent me down a glorious rabbit hole. Well done, sir(s).
Thank you for sharing this, I am sure I speak for others when I say this; but the sharing of a full album for us to 'try before we buy' motivates me more, to buy the album.
I just discovered this guy this morning, this is simply amazing. Long time that i haven't heard such a good album, surely this is one of my new favourite now. Just amazing.
This is great! I listen to it nearly every day. I just thought I would mention that the timestamp for "Cyclic" does not work. It appears as though there is a space after the colon.
Is the band name inspired and/or a reference to the Salvador Dali Painting "Dream, Caused by the Flight of a Bee (Around a Pomegranate, a Second Before Waking Up)"? Just wondering, Before now I had assumed it was the combination of two Irrelevant words to make a silly title, but I think I'd be just a little more content knowing there was some meaning behind it. Just a thought haha.
I'm not sure wether its a coincidence or not but when the bands came from canada and played technical music they will always blown you away with such a musical experience..
probably a coincidence. the progressive metal scene isn't really stationed there in any critical sense, like say mdm is on the Nordic regions for example. but you're right, p tiger is Canadian and much metal top come from Canada is equally as impressive.

Unless it is quality like Daniel Tompkins.
This album increased my productivity by about 9000%.
Executed with Impunity!
I, as well.
I know! I wonder why (in all seriousness)?!
was it not.. over 9000?!?!
*Vegeta intensifies.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT MARTIN. This is even better than Entities! How the actual fuck did you pull that off??!
I am now smarter having listen to this album for like the 900th time. Never gets old for me
Same here
Martin you're so creative... i'm very connect to your music.
This reminds me of Pomegranate Tiger for some reason.
Well.. there's a pretty good reason for that :/
Reminds me of Apple Snake.
meh I'm hearing a lot more avocado sloth personally
I'm getting more of a tangerine giraffe vibe.
Apple Snake is fucking sick bro
I don't understand why this album didn't took off like it should have. It's a fucking masterpiece. I hope there's a 3rd album in progress, need more!
Martin said he heard the fans and the Tiger as awakened, 3rd album underway :O
@Wesley Anderson I new he was working on it, but didn't get the update 2 months ago, meaning it's gonna be soon!

There's a new single out recently and we are finally getting more Pomegranate Tiger after the long drought!
Cyclic is a masterpiece.
Another band I truly love. Thanks for making the best chillout album of all time.
This album is a masterpiece, I can't describe the incredible mind trip I have taken with this
I like how "ovation" is "manifesto" in classical format and style.
this record.. is just brilliant.. one of the best records i hear for a long time
Absolutely fucking crazy!!! Hope to see Pomegranate Tiger one day in Mexico!
That two-hit combo of Paper Hammers and Color Theory is absolutely sublime.
Finally getting around to this album and kicking myself for not doing it sooner
39:40 fuck yes
hahaha hell yeah, whatsup brother??

Wonderful leads, rhythms and production. It's inspiring me as to how to paint beautiful pictures upon the auditory canvas.
If it's true you're making a third album then the hype is real, I will definitely buy some merch and stuff. One of the best bands
Comes out Sept 7th!!! :)

Great album. Just checked it all the way through....some epic moments and some beautiful classical movements...I'll be playing this again.
I don't know how I've got to your Album, but it is amazing, one of those things you discover accidentally. Great job!
This is starting to grow on me and it's slowly becoming my favorite album at the moment.
42:50 has got to be one of my favorites on this album. Great job
Dat outro from The Masked Ball, followed by Paper Hammers

right there in the description guys. dont know where u gettin your info from.

Tool could melt faces, and their singer had a pretty high voice. I must admit, though, I don't like the operatic sound of DT's singer.
this album just has such good flow. Ovation is such a perfect end to everything
Intro song sounds like it got some influence from the Glitch Mob remix of Derizzed. Still fucking rules tho
Love the ovation, what a passionate climactic ending!

Boundless has an x men cartoon theme song sound to it. Love this album
I was kinda afraid with this second piece, Entities being brilliant as it is, but this is phukyn amazing as well ! Good job mate
+Whack Angel I completely agree. It's just getting better and better as I get closer to the album's end!
