I’m looking at Brandon area so far I don’t want to live in the downtown area but I am looking for an apartment, or a townhome if possibly. As a lifelong Floridian I almost never go to the beach anymore even though it is only 15 minutes from my house. It is just a personal preference. Most of the known beaches are packed with tourists, but as a local I know of plenty of quiet and somewhat private beaches that are nicer. There are lots of awesome hidden freshwater springs, places to see manatees without having to pay for it, tropical gardens, real Cuban sandwiches (very important) and more all for free. We kinda have an unspoken rule that we don’t bring non-locals. You basically have to live here 10+ years first. No weather-whiners. 😅
