I switched to calling myself fusion to imply I intended those mistakes and call it spontaneous note selection. Sure dominant 7th, 8th, 9th whatever it takes. Lol
I agree! I had the pleasure of seeing Larry play in Boston when he was touring after his “On Solid Ground” CD was released. Truly a guitarist’s guitarist!
Jeff beck John Scofield Jon ambercrombie my all time favorite is Allen holdsworth unfortunately he Scofield and ambercrombie are nolonger on earth rip beck I'm not sure . But there's alot of guys out there that can claim that title too many: )
@@strangesevin I think Jeff Beck’s “Blow by Blow” and “Wired” has some of his best stuff. That man never stopped evolving and is still going strong at 78!
Return to Forever with Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Al Dimeola, Lenny White was my ultimate fusion band. That was around 1975 to 1979 if I remember right. The lineup constantly changed but that was maybe the best one.
I actually had Larry Carlton as my guest in Lepers Ford, TN. We talked about that solo. I asked Larry how he got the gig in the e first place. Larry said, he had just produced Joan Baez Diamond in the Rust album. Walter said that he wanted to meet the guy who made Joan sound good. True story. Myself. I actually like her voice.
"Gasp! How could you"
😂😂
The audacity, especially after modal workout
When he said "gasp" I went to hit subscribe... Realised I'm already subscribed

LMFAO GOOD ol STEELY DAN
So true!
YES
i was hoping someone else would notice
I love how he actually says "gasp"
Once he’s discovered the FUSION MUSIC from guitar legends like Al DiMeola and Larry Coryell, he’ll become convinced that fusion is the answer.
Musicians music
What about Chris Poland?
and john mclaughlin fr
Faster than a speeding AL DiMeola.😁
"Return to Forever? Like; never!
That “gasp” 😂👌
It's already clear when he was holding a gibson but not a strat lol
Neither are jazz guitars, both would be kinda looked down on
@@bargun3943 Well I think it will be better if he was holding an Ibanez lol
@@00sboomer17 Literally any hollowbody, Gretsch is probably peak jazz guitar if we want stereotypical

How does this man not have 1 million subscribers? 🤔
On his way to it👌
Gotta share his work to get there 👋

Dude the Kid Charlemagne solo is the absolute best
The verbal gasp was really the icing on the cake
One of the first jazz fusion solos I learned steely Dan. Your funny man and a create player . #Larry Carlton
Kid Charlemagne solo! Love it

I've started to appreciate Jazz listening Weather Report. I know Birdland is also an outclass hit between rockers.
Enter John McLaughlin and Larry Coryell:
Kid Charlemagne ia goated lol
woah sick i got the same guitar strap on that strat you have

Mahavishnu Orchestra too if you like all that
I love fusion as a guitarist. Its like jazz but this time they can hear us!
That Gasp is so Good it carried the whole video.
This is a good story of how some jazz players became rock players.
Well sweetwater needs to send you a jazzbox now.
Ask for Brian at sweetwater he's a mench
Your videos are gold!
Hell yeah I love kid Charlemagne. That's a killer solo
Jazz players verbally saying “gasp “ is incredibly accurate
That Carlton lick is too good
Steely dan is goated
I have that solo hardwired into my brain and I can hear it any time I want to. I refuse to learn it because then I be “over it”.

Return to forever, mahavishnu orchestra, and Larry Cornell are all legendary fusion artists. The truce is solidified in history.
It’s so sophisticatedhhhh 😂
Greg howe was my ticket to the fusion theater
You go back, Jack. Do it again.
That Strat is gorgeous 😎!
Reminds me of how I took a guitar class for harmony and it was straight jazz. "Autumn Leaves" got a new solo inspired by Ace Frehley
✨Sophisticated yet rebellious✨ Perfect
The tie though 😂
That tie 👌🏻
They could have just put a Steeley Dan album on…
Let's see classical musicians hear dream theater
Love the tie! 😂
Bro has the humor of that one dwarf dude, but he looks like Lewis Cato
Marbin knows all about fusion
The moment he said fusion I already thought of Steely Dan
"Bro the perfect short doesn't exi---"
I went to a buffet after that called the tower of snarky chicken.
Giving me some Chuck Berry vibes right there
Kid Charlemagne solo boii ❤️
My guy channeled Larry Carlton on that last one
This was a good one,
Fusion is the way to go
Wait til he discovers The Mars Volta, that’s some mind-blowing stuff for someone who comes from a jazz background
This is so funny. Love it.
“Gasp”
Dude I gotta play both
Lov'it!🤟💯%
You should do "how funk players become metal players".

If you like fusion then check out masayoshi takanaka. He's one of the top 5 coolest guitarists out there
That kind of sounded like british blues
He called it listen if anyone didn’t know from the loop
Return to Forever was fusion.
I've got to start saying the word "gasp" out loud more often
Good ole Kid Charlemagne
"Gasp"
Larry Carlton solo work baby! Love Steely Dan
Kid Charlemagne 🔥
We must return to forever.
Bro invented polyphia
People that love jazz can have powerviolence as a treat
The blues
That was a Steely Dan lick at the end.
That's the Kid Charlemaigne solo, by Larry Carlton playing in Steely Dan. You're welcome.
Haha! Got me good
Larry Carlton 🐐
Ok so that was either kid charlemagne by steely dan or the last lick sounded extremely similar to something off of CASIOPEA's self titled album
You better listen to the original fusion album. Billy Cobham Spectrum.
That mustache doe
Bass players chillin:
gasspp! lop
I'VE GOT ANOTHER CONFESSION TO MAKE!
Have him go from jazz player to rock player to metal player ( metalica riffs

The RHCP have entered the chat.
