Dirge of the Fourteenth sounds like a much more fitting name for the song, really. The tone of this really tells listeners that something large and tragic is going on. Yoko's a musical genius with game music!
This arrangement is sooo good.. in my opinion, it's one of Yoko's best (the melody). A bunch of seemingly random songs coming in to create a powerful driven song.
THE BEST Kingdom Hearts boss theme ever. Anything else is wrong. So passionate, it's epic, and sorrowful. You don't want to fight, but you know you have to, which is part of why it's so sad and moving. You could dissagree and say that the REAL final boss theme in BBS is best, but you dont get the passion from it, epic, but no sorrowful passion. I also love how Dearly Beloved is thrown into the song, which makes it even more meaningful.
The official name of this song has been released: "Vector to the Heavens" (hahaha I knew that the official name was going to be different than Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion haha ) Also, "Fight For My Friends" has been given an official name. It's "Fight and Away". Xion's theme is not "Xion" but "Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion" :P So "Dirge of the Fourteenth" or "Vector to the Heavens", which do you prefer. Personally, I like Shimomura-san's name better! What do you think?
I think both are equally good. It’s called Vector to the Heavens because Xion knows which way to go and with how much force, hence “Vector”. The only way it can end is for her to be killed, hence “Heavens”. Also I don’t actually know what “dirge” means.
I've got to say Jakah016, this song was composed very well; I mainly like the fact that it puts more emphasis on the piano. Plus, it sounds more cleaned up than Vector to the heavens. Nice job, bro.
Think of it this way. Roxas will always remember her, even if he doesn't know it. Her memory lives on through him. That's what I got out of that ending, sad as it is.
+Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann She did. Sora saw her in The World That Never Was and, similar to when he was leaving Twilight Town and Roxas began to cry, a tear rolled down his cheek.
you made the in game music more full and until Yoko Shimomura releases the full original version of this song this will do fine to listen to. great job in adding the necessary notes in.
There's a conversation in DDD between data Ansem and Riku, which in my opion shows that she will be back. Ansem says to Riku (he's talking about Sora): perhaps he has the power to bring back the heart and excistences of those connected to him. To recreate people we thought were lost to us forever. Our most precious treasures (probably Namine), even an empty puppet! (That must be Xion!!) The conversation continues, and he describes Aqua, Roxas, Terra and Ventus.
No,Riku is an extra boss thrown in for really no other purpose other than to wrap things up nice and neatly. The operative word here us "true",my friend.
ALP No, Riku isn't an extra boss because this is the last boss you have to beat in order to beat the game, and an extra boss is a boss you fight after beating the game, man you're out of context.
MissingNom ALP pretty much means that Xion was the 'true' final boss as she had 4 different forms, Riku was only there for story purposes and he was SO easy to beat.
AND NOW I GIVE A DAMN THING ABOUT THE WHOLE "What's happening in the game" THING!!! MAN! Well...It's just so damn awesome, that you were able to obtain the license and that arrangement is just breathtaking. Thank you very much for the efforts
i.. weirdly enough had the same experience, i only playd it once and now the DS witht he game is gone... weird to hear someone else had a similar experience
It is, but it isn't actually the game - it's more of a collection of cutscenes and diary entries explaining what happened in the game. Kinda annoying, I think.
I have no clue but from what I saw the final mixes are just the games with extra content such as new secret bosses or areas to explore like 2.5 have the Terra secret boss and more areas for you to go into
Oh my Goodness. I seriously started crying during the final boss fight. This song just sounds so desperate and sad. D: I'm so happy its uploaded here so I can listen to it. :'] Thank you.
OHMYGOD You have no idea how long it took me to find the most amazing version of this song and i must praise you for its upload. oh and i put it into my 3DS to listen to so yup
This is very good. Most of times, instruments sound fake in other remixes. You've managed to make this sound realistic. Maybe the piano could have had a little more variation in velocity, but like I said, its very good! Keep up this good work!
This Remix of yours just sounds splendid. I do not usually comment on people's work even if I like it, but I feel like I MUST give your "spoken" credit about this fantastic piece of art. I just hope you will get this back online, it would be awesome to listen to this on my Ipod without being on the internet. Again, you have my thanks for creating such a beautiful remix of an already awesome song. Congratulations.
Thank you for the great quality. All the other versions of this song were really fuzzy and hard to hear. Thaaaaaank you. Thumbs up if your adding this to your favorites, i know i am
Whoa, this sounds awesome! I really enjoyed the game's soundtrack despite the lesser audio capacity the DS had to the PS2 games, but you're arrangement definitely sounds like something I'd hear if 358/2 Days had been on a console ^^
This is great! The audio from the game is muddled because of the low quality on the DS. Still this is what it would have sounded like if it were PS2. Incredible Job!!!
@Jakah016 You did a great job on the arrangement. Looking back at Xion's life makes me realize just how horrible she had it and she only had Roxas and Axel. Even then she had to get Roxas to kill her because of Sora's memories flooding into her, driving her insane. Again this arrangement pulled at my heart while I was looking back at the game.
Whoa, this song like, makes me all emotional. I have it on my iPod and whenever I listen to it, I just wanna curl up in a ball and think about how tragic of a series Kingdom Hearts really is.
nice one dude. thanks for this xD btw for me Riku is event boss. made because of the fans who wants to play the battle scene of "secret movie" of kingdom hearts. i think :3
Good job Jakah. You must have put a lot of work into that. I really appreciate it because the DS doesn't have the best sound quality. You make it sound like the game was on PS2 !
yeah man the tear was a fine touch not to mention riku sees her as well. i just like how they are bringing all the characters back. they really set up kingdom hearts 3 to be the great game we all hoped
@Jakah016 Whoa your on top of it Vector to the Godamn Heavens!!!, Christ Yoko has such a gift for naming her tunes CHOOON!!!!!!! btw i think xion's themes been known for a year though when they released that piano collection!!1
Jakah. I love you and hate you man. I love you for making this. It feels more emotional than the original to me and it pulls at me. Thats also why I hate you. If I play this over in my head with scenes from the game and fight it litterally brings me to tears. You arranged this so perfectly. You did too good of a job. Thank you.
Song makes me feel like I'm saying goodbye forever to a very close friend :( I know I'm not but I just can't help feel it when I hear this song. Miss you Xion.
@Jakah016 You really shouldn't worry about personal arrangements getting pirated. Even if it is initially upsetting, you could try and take solace in the fact that you really did something amazing, and that people attempting to take credit are simply talentless. Love this, by the way.
Wow awesome i love this theme x3 its so sad..but has a might epic feel to it. And the best part u uploaded the original :D not the ones that sound all statiky and stuff xP now i wanna look for and extended x]
@Jakah016 I can believe she did as this version of the song has become very famous. Though the view count might not show it. It is a very impressive arrangement.
well jekah i have to hand it to you. "dirge of the Fourteenth" is not the official name but thanks to your musical contribution, the name of this song is everywhere now. Even on NICONICO. I hope this arrangement really did make Shimamora proud as its popularity has done nothing but soar beyond most fan arrangements. Again i hope you know the magnitude of this arrangement. its popular, EVERYWHERE KH IS. congrats jekah.
In the Piano Collections Vol.2 There's a track that I believe is called "Musique pour la tristesse de Xion", which roughly translated from french is "Music for the Sadness of Xion"
"Is that all you got?" "STOP HOLDING BACK!!!" "Get ready, Roxas! HOAAARR!!!" When you fight Xion in story mode at as high a level as you can get, the fight is pretty short, but her Mission Mode version (although packed with HP) isn't as fun without her quotes I can't say this enough times, this is just an amazing piece of work on your part, this rearrangement is simply beautiful & it is by far one of my favourite boss themes that's been given new life; pure excellence CB
I listen to this all the time. I think it's even better than the original. It's easier to listen to when you're NOT playing the final battle. And still just as epic. ^^
try to feel the power of those words as you listen to this music. its almost uplifting, as if you are transforming into everything, and becoming one with not just the universe, but everything that is and isnt real. whether or not imaginary or just a thought, you feel a vibrational bliss as your body discintigrates, and soon your consciousness is nothing. you have fulfilled your duty as a human being. now, it is time to rest.
When i first heard this song and saw that i had to end the friendship of Roxas and Xion, my throat was hurting so bad because i was trying not to cry out loud. Of course tears were coming out. This is by far the most emotional game Square-Enix has ever made. R.I.P - Xion.
Wow that was really deep... I never thought about it that way but yeah, it is kind of sad that all they wanted was their hearts back and most them never even got a chance to remember their past.
omg I was not able to beat Xion because of this amazing soundtrack, my tears didn't let me see the screen and i couldn't stop crying. It was impossible for me to do it, she was he's friend... This is so touching in so many ways. I love this game and i miss my friends more than anything in this world... I miss them.
@Jakah016 I would love to see your performance of the Revolutionary Etude. It's been so long since I've performed that piece but it will always be one of my favorites to play!
Both versions of this song are so beautiful & melancholic. The name "Dirge of the XIV" is so fitting. I believe understand the meaning of the new title, but the aforementioned is less cryptic about it.
I love this music, it really fit the final battle against Xion perfectly, obviously a huge re-mix of Xion's theme but then the little bit of Dearly Beloved which starts @1:26 adds that new dimension to it. It's obvious Roxas only fought because he was forced too shown by his tears at the end when he remembered Xion just before she died (or whatever you call it).
I actually cried at the ending of this game. Not what I expected from Square to tell the truth, but great game. Great ending. This thing is a masterpiece. Thank you for the awsome backstory Square. Xion will be missed.
14 years later and “Dirge of the Fourteenth” still goes hard. You’re a legend.
Sea Salt Ice Cream huh?...
When you think about it... It's the epitome for Frozen Tears...
Now let that marinate for a bit...
Oh my.
I'm done marinating, put me into the oven so I can b u r n
Dirge of the Fourteenth sounds like a much more fitting name for the song, really. The tone of this really tells listeners that something large and tragic is going on.
Yoko's a musical genius with game music!
This arrangement is sooo good.. in my opinion, it's one of Yoko's best (the melody). A bunch of seemingly random songs coming in to create a powerful driven song.
358/2 Days probably has the most emotionally resonating story of the bunch. The final battles are so heartbreaking.
You do Yoko Shimomura a GREAT justice with this awesome arrangement. Wonderful job!
Its the year of the fourteenth the year of Xion :D
Who is Xion?
a character in 358/2 Days who is one of the Main Protagonists along with Roxas and Axel and is also the Final Boss
I'm guessing you don't get what you read.
I'm sorry, I don't know anyone name Xion.
kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Xion
the link might help you out on who Xion is
Sorry that you don't understand the joke. Thought you've already beaten the game.
10 years later and this is STILL my favorite rendition of this song
*QUIT HOLDING BACK!!!!*
Wow. 13 thumbs up. I think that's awesome, considering the context!
She actually says "stop holding back" but ok

I hope she comes back. Or at the very least, the memory of her.

You got your wish, even though it kinda doesnt make sense, but im not complainin
Simply flippin' amazing in every conceivable way! Execellent work!
It's kinda sad and the Theme blends in u fighting one of ur best freind and she does not attend on winning she wants whats right for u and sora
you made the in game music more full and until Yoko Shimomura releases the full original version of this song this will do fine to listen to. great job in adding the necessary notes in.
This song sounds familiar but I forgot who it belongs to...
I'm looking for the song this reminds me of too. if you find it, give me a shout?
It's Xion...
THATS THE JOKE.
I'm as blind as Riku...
Who is Xion ?
Purely Beautiful. Awesome arrangement Jakah016
Xion forever love 2014 hope you come back in kh3
She isn't. Sorry. She's not just dead, she's retgone. Erased. The most she'll get is a fleeting glimpse, an echo of the tiny part left in Sora.
Bra have hope

@Jakah016 i give you props this is an inspiring song i i can just feel emotion coming out of it note by note its just whoa!!
No this isn't the final boss. Riku is though, and so is Another Side battle ver
No,Riku is an extra boss thrown in for really no other purpose other than to wrap things up nice and neatly. The operative word here us "true",my friend.

i.. weirdly enough had the same experience, i only playd it once and now the DS witht he game is gone... weird to hear someone else had a similar experience
Bloodmoon Pictures yeah...
I think the game is on 1.5 final mix or 2.5 just play it on console

Wow, this is amazing!
I'm downloading it right now from the link you provided. :D
This is really good! You're awesome at doing arrangements!
I love this, I listen to it constantly, I think you did an amazing job ;D
This song inspires me so well!
CONTINUE YOUR AMAZING WORK!
OHMYGOD You have no idea how long it took me to find the most amazing version of this song and i must praise you for its upload. oh and i put it into my 3DS to listen to so yup

just love this arranged soundtrack you made

This is a really kickass arrangement! Bravo!
Amazing, and this song fit SO perfectly to the mood I have right now.

Thanks so much! That question was bugging me for a while haha, it all makes sense now
@Jakah016 this song kicks ass your awesome for posting it :D
It appears Lea was revived using the "traditional" solution for nobodies". Basically, Axel dies and we get Lea. But hey, they're basically the same!
This is beautiful my friend! thank you!
Listen in speed for 1.25 for an alternate awesome for an already awesome song!
@Jakah016 no thank u for making this amazing piece of music from a series that we all love so much kingdom hearts :)
This is a really awesome arrangement!

That was amaaaaaazing. I can't get enough of it! My favorite improv! I can hear Xion, Kairi, and Dearly Beloved.
Coincidentally, the name of the song that you came up with is perfect for it.
You did really well on this.
My iPod is thanking you...and so am I!! Thanks very much!
I just can't believe on how beautiful this song is.
Thank you very much for putting up a download link! Congratulations on getting a license on it. :3
Awesome. This sounds absolutely fantastic.

nice one dude. thanks for this xD
btw for me Riku is event boss. made because of the fans who wants to play the battle scene of "secret movie" of kingdom hearts. i think :3
I'm so glad this arrangement is still around 😭
I have a new channel. I can't believe this video has as many views as it does ;A;
@Jakah016
Vector to the Heavens. :p
You explanation to the title in your PM to me really cleared it up. Its epic.
Good job Jakah. You must have put a lot of work into that. I really appreciate it because the DS doesn't have the best sound quality. You make it sound like the game was on PS2 !
1:24 - 1:45 is my favourite part
Brilliant.
Very good job on this.
Love how they mix in Kairi's theme, since Xion's appearance was based from Kairi o.o
Sweet. I cried just a little at the end. I`ve only done that twice, not counting this.
yeah man the tear was a fine touch not to mention riku sees her as well. i just like how they are bringing all the characters back. they really set up kingdom hearts 3 to be the great game we all hoped
@Jakah016 Whoa your on top of it Vector to the Godamn Heavens!!!, Christ Yoko has such a gift for naming her tunes CHOOON!!!!!!!

This is so freaking epic.
I love everything aboutf KH
I love this theme.
Its so sad, but dramatic enough to be Final Boss music.
This is amazing. Good job.
(wanted to say more but couldn't find words to say it lol)
ok, thanks. I finally found it. this song is so beautiful.^^
@Jakah016 You really shouldn't worry about personal arrangements getting pirated. Even if it is initially upsetting, you could try and take solace in the fact that you really did something amazing, and that people attempting to take credit are simply talentless. Love this, by the way.
@Jakah016 Well this arrangement is epic on so many levels after all
Your name really caught on- I'm seeing it all over the place!
I like it. You did nicely with this one
well jekah i have to hand it to you.
I loooove this
One if the rare few times that YOUR ARRENGMENT IS BETTER! :D and I'm a die hard KH fan! XD
Axel? Noooo Axel is already in the form of Lea and has a...well I won't spoil it.
HOAAARR!!!"

I listen to this all the time. I think it's even better than the original. It's easier to listen to when you're NOT playing the final battle. And still just as epic. ^^
Wow... I forgot how beautiful this sounded :D
This is like the greatest music ever composted in my opinion.
try to feel the power of those words as you listen to this music. its almost uplifting, as if you are transforming into everything, and becoming one with not just the universe, but everything that is and isnt real. whether or not imaginary or just a thought, you feel a vibrational bliss as your body discintigrates, and soon your consciousness is nothing. you have fulfilled your duty as a human being. now, it is time to rest.
this is probably the best composition i have ever heard. they SHOULD have DEFINATELY used this in the game!!
When i first heard this song and saw that i had to end the friendship of Roxas and Xion, my throat was hurting so bad because i was trying not to cry out loud. Of course tears were coming out. This is by far the most emotional game
