It's obvious you gave Kudos to Indian for giving you a bike that's got everything 'premium' ... compared to H.D. that puts trashy mufflers, crappy handle grips, etc. I have an Indian, glad it's got everything just the way I like. Also we can tell you want to do a build. That's you choice, your money. .
In all honesty, this is why I love Indian. You don't 'need' to do anything to it. Maybe a handlebar, maybe the audio upgrade, but that's it. I want that, but I also run a 2015 Fatboy right now as we speak and I love that too (which I got used and the previous guy a really good job of adding stuff to it)

Good luck with your new Harley. With the way things have been going (Harley getting the Bud Light treatment), I bet their will be a boom in 3rd party parts for Indian coming real soon.
Indian is so much of a better bike. Indian doesn't need need parts. Better original parts O E. Than HD . Your keeping the bike that needs lots of parts and sell the bike that is so good you don't need parts? Drank too much Kool- Aid?Or just glutton for punishment?
Went from 21 street glide special to a 24 pursuit. I actually like having less options. Seems less stressful when researching companies, I believe 90% of people just want a good bike to ride, they are not spending 1000’s on aftermarket parts.
Good looking Bike. I had been looking at them myself. I am a bit shorter then you and i felt a bit crunched up with the knees sitting high. I also would have my knee on the A/C at times.
Did you get that in O' Fallon at Green Mount Harley-Davidson?? My lady's cousin is the Sales Manager there. Rob Hocking, good dude !!! I also like that Rock Red myself.
I have some horror stories about Indian. Had a 2016 Scout. They DO NOT MAKE ALL THE PARTS ANYMORE! The oil cooler ring broke and you cannot get it anymore. Dealer wanted to total the bike. Insane. Bike was not even 10 years old and they just stop making parts, and there are no after market options. Like an idiot I traded it for a Challenger. At 9k miles the left front frame mount cracked, they refused warranty. The Ride Command system is terrible. I am going to buy a Harley to replace the Challenger.
Yep, 100%. Literally, bought an ATV, from a little old lady. I only use it to push my snow, it's the AMC of the motorsports. Just one example, needed an extra key. My local NAPA has made every key I've ever needed, handed them the Polaris key, they came back & asked, what the Fuk, does this fit? Had to go to high-end locksmith. I could go on & on.
I'm about the same height, maybe a smidge taller. Boots are important and essential when riding a Harley. LRST is one popular bike but I went with the regular 23 LR last year. Glad you mentioned the gauge since that was one of several reasons I did not want the ST version. Nice bike if you are in love with the bags and fairing because you are pretty much locked into those when you buy the ST.
I have a Revolution Performance big bore kit and Andrews 450 cams in my 2018 Scout Bobber with a TBR 2 into 1 exhaust and the upgraded Fox shocks. I did a couple cosmetic things like putting a Scout Rogue fairing and headlight on it and the 1920 solo seat that is surprisingly comfortable. I'm a taller guy as well so I put forward controls on it and drag bars. I am a little disappointed by the lack of aftermarket support for Indian bikes but I made due. I don't agree with what Harley is doing nowadays with their corporate stuff but I do own a 2020 Lowrider S which is a great bike. I just like my Indian more even before I did all the mods but especially after I did all the mods.
Interesting that you mentioned the started solenoid. My solenoid went bad for the second time. Should that be a difficult thing to fix? I took the bike to a local shop the first time and he disassembled most of the bike to replace it and charged me $500 in labor. Two years later, the solenoid blew again and the bike is currently sitting at a proper Indian shop awaiting diagnosis.

I don't understand wanting to buy a new bike of any brand, with the plan to modify it a lot. Why not buy an older Harley or other bike to modify where there are OEM and other bolt-on parts to individualize your "cool" bike. It seems that many bikers have goals involving loud pipes, self-image, and "upmanship" and video makers click-bait goals.
Heck ya man, LRST is a dope bike n many mods you can add. Congratulations bro. I want to buy Indian chieftain but having to add taller looking apes do not add to my interest and coming from dyna to m8 softail low rider s with moto bar n T bar, the chieftain can not accept any tbar. @STLNik There's nothing cause I don't make content. Don't get upset cause you ain't doing nothing original. You know I'm right. How many videos are out there with the same content you're about to regurgitate. The chopper builds are way more interesting than these accessories and aftermarket parts you're about to just slap on that ST which even any newbie motorcycle UA-cam creater can do.

@@STLNiknah, bags don't bother me either. What bothers me us that unless you own a challenger, there is no mods for handlebar other than oversized limited apes.
Fine. Go buy a Harley and spend tons of money making it a better bike. I own a 2016 Indian Roadmaster... I removed the huge luggage rack from the back and removed the front lower fairings and replaced the original seat with an Ultimate Solo with backrest. I also installed Rinehart slip-ons and a high-pass air cleaner, which improved the gas milage by 8 MPG. My bike is now a very high-end bagger... and I would never trade it for a Harley. The Harley stock exhaust sounds like hell... I do agree with you on this.
The lack of aftermarket is due to the low sales volume of the current Indian lineup. Harley has been around for 100 years and there are millions of them in the world. Indian has been around barely a decade in the new iteration with Polaris. It is simple economics that keeps the aftermarket small for them. Indian barely sales 30,000 a year... Harley sells more than 3x times that.
I had two 2023's a Chieftain and a Chief both were bad. The Chieftain had bad fuel injectors at 10 miles. The Chief was designed with apparently the fuel pick up somewhere in the gas tank that prevents starting if the bike is on it's side stand with half tank of gas ... Also, you touch on the aftermarket industry lets not forget the lack of dealer network and the unprofessional nature of the dealers they have. Got rid of both of them and bought a 2024 Road Glide happy as a clam. The dealer around me has one tech and one bay, the bay has a Harbor Freight lift that they use 🙄🤷♂ and they stated to me when I bought the bike, "If you ever break down we don't have a way to pick the bike up" - Who in the HELL runs a dealership like this ...😱😱😱
You better hurry with your performance parts for the Harley Davidson because the government is already on the aftermarket performance parts builders or makers and are trying to shut them down. If you buy a part listed as drag race off road and put it on any bike on the street their looking to shut these types of parts down. Stage 1 through 4 with cams I couldn't tell you on that what's going to happen. Get your plans in order quickly do your homework on that first. I'm having problems with Harley Davidson warranty as of the last week because they put my old bikes mileage on the new contract and the warranty will not fix it till the mileage has been fixed on the contract. Texarkana TX Harley Davidson did not fix the issue when I took it back to them even though they said they did. Now I have it at Tyler Texas Lone Star Harley and they say it has the wrong dust cover and cap on the steering stem not matching the bearings. I guess Texarkana TX Harley Davidson wanted my front end to break going down the Hwy. I've been fighting this issue with Harley Davidson since January 2024 and still haven't got to ride this bike to far with this issue in the steering stem. Look at your miles on your contact people before signing it with Harley Davidson folks.
Congratulations. Those are really nice bikes. I never knocked Indian. I know nothing about them. Never rode one never knew anybody personally that owned A Indian. My only issue was with Polaris.
