  • Bit of a diary over the 4 day event at Jerez - the final day will be in the next video as it was getting waaaaay to long.
    Great event from Focused Events and clearly - an absolute stonker of a bike from BMW.
    Thanks to Jo for helping me: / joannafbenz

      To be fair he's not totally on his own with an ex-wife and young'un to support. The dude has done the graft to put himself where he is now. We've only ever witnessed middle-aged baron with loads of fast toys and fuckery . No doubt it was a different story in his 20's and early 30's. Pretty commendable compared to the waves of rich kids on social media flaunting the cash they were born into.

      @@rab.. True he probably does have them to support but maybe he could have put a bit more graft into his relationship and then maybe have them as well!! Having a family takes an enormous amount of hard work, more than a career sometimes, which a lot of people seem to forget, don't get me wrong i'm not judging just making an observation!

    That BMW is Super Fast. You just 12 sec off Cal Crutchlows lap record at Jerez of 1min 37. Just to put into perspective how fast Moto3 is. Slowest qualifier was still 2 seconds a lap quicker. Insane.

      Moto 3 is faster than the hp4?

    • @raynic1173
      @raynic1173 4 роки тому

      It so much depends on who's in the seat. Pro riders are ridiculously fast. When I raced I was down 20 hp and was beating more than half the field. The "slow bike" forced me to learn major corner speed improvements.

  • @funninja1405
    @funninja1405 5 років тому +9

    Chris couple of words of advice: first is that You do have wrong angle on Your handle bars (they should be setup so the line of the knuckles matches the line of Your grips.
    Secondary the bottom out is something You can cure with preload adjustment (check the true amount of the travel of Your forks -BMWe should be able to give You the figures and its normally over 5mm the bottom leg casting to stanchion contact line and can be as much as 15mm. Add 2 full turns of preload to start with and check the change in SAG.
    When it comes to the funny wear of people tyres - that's a very complex subject that involves tyre compound profile and pressure , springs rates, suspension setup and velveing, geometry of the bike, age of the suspension oil(together with the age it will change viscosity and other properties much more dramatically as it gets warmer due to suspension work), weather condition and its influence on temperature of the sides of the tyres and time of the suspension warm up, and of course riders ability and technique for different tracks (braking ability, trail braking, engine braking, throttle control etc.)
    So to say that going faster is a solution to the tyres problem ... sounds a bit ...
    Third and most important advice from me would be for You to visit a "Dave moss tuning " website - Dave is one of the most fantastic suspension tuners on the planet and great guy !
    He has a remote tuning service where You can set up a appointment for the time when You are on the track and He will provide You with "live analysis and tuning advice" plus ergonomics and technique advice.
    I hope You will find time to look it up as I believe Dave Would make You a very happy man.
    Thank You
    Kuba

    Firstly, man, I'm so glad you did not bin it! That first right into the stadium, or maybe it's the second, one of them is unbelievably quick, and you only realise how quick after you've gone past the point where you should have been quicker! Damn that's some good riding! I would be hanging on for dear life. I need to stop messing about, take some lessons, and get my riding sorted out.

    Baron you forgot to bring your 1200 gsa. HP4 is for tarmac and the gsa for the gravel. 😀

    Confidence is the other aspect of high performance riding that is easily overlooked. When it gets damaged it takes time to get it back.
