    His first wife let him off the hook, and how did anybody think he'd not do this again? His arrogance and vanity were just over the top. This man was a waste of air.

      @@joeylamuel5828 they had knowledge of the first attempt but they knew it’d be difficult if not impossible to prove him guilty. The whole point of the deal was they DID think he’d strike again, and thru his admission he’d be drawn into suspicion if a similar incident happened in the future with someone he knew

    Richard Kenneth Overton passed away on the 11 June 2009 at a Hospice in Northern California after he had been transferred from state prison in Folsom where he was serving a Life Sentence.
    He was 81 years old when he died

    This is one episode I don't remember seeing during its original run or in syndication. Some syndication packages do not always include every episode. This was a good one that they never gave up. And kudos to Scotland Yard whom I've always had much respect for.

      They even used Overton's own words in the movie. When Ritter playing as overton testified at the trial near the end of the movie. "the love/hate in our marriage has turned to pure hate...there will be a drastic change coming and soon." These were Overton's actual words found on his computer. RIP Janet and thank goodness for Overton's first wife who worked to put this sucker behind bars.

    Sometimes it is not good to be so intelligent because people like this man in this episode, and those with very high IQ, use their knowledge to commit evil crimes as this episode proves.
    I don’t understand why, when they should be helping the good people putting their knowledge to good use to help science. But not everyone thinks like me.

    Tried to poison the first wife, she got the house and he had to pay alimony. Then he tried to poison another wife and gets caught again. Multiple marriages. I heard the guy was smart! No way.

    Poisoning the first wife was a "neat joke?" What a psychopath! He really thinks he is the smartest person in any room he enters. I guess he never considered forensics science to be real. Very intelligent narcissistic individuals can be extremely dangerous.

You can’t expect that to end well when you know your spouse’s temperament. She knew what she was getting into. And Idk why one affair is more important than the other

      A bit of fan fiction to assume both (1) he would have had to pay her due to their divorce, and at the same time (2) that if he served time for the poisoning that he wouldn't have had to still pay her under the divorce agreement because he went to prison.
