I freaking love your filming and editing style!
I’m here for the video quality and the awesome commentary!
Good enough.
Me too. Not my style.
Literally not interested in Doxa at all but clicked just for this reason !
I got this watch in the black integrated strap and man oh man I Effing LOVE THIS WATCH. It feels so damn good wearing this watch and looking at it, and enjoying life with it strapped to my wrist. Felt amazing saving up for it and finally getting it. Always wanted a Doxa, and I’m glad that I went with this variation. All black and orange and eventually aquamarine speak to me so damn much. It felt right getting it.
Junge, this if 4 grand, and it's twice the cost of SS and it's made of the same stuff my window scraper is molded from, it's even in janitorial supplies!
How has the case stood up to wear? Super interested in the sharkhunter but wondering if it will lose its crispness over time, in which case I might go with steel. Thank you!
@@GCPlati85 hey mate. The case is still great and standing strong.
It’s worth the money imo. You’ll be happy you got it!
hi i know its been 2 years but im planning to buy one is the case dented scratched or still brand new would love if u respond
@@Abood-zh8hw hey so I sold it last year but when I had it it was great. You won’t regret this purchas
Found your channel today and binge watched 10 episodes. Congratulations, I subscribe to a lot of watch UA-cam channels and yours just moved to the podium. Great content and spot on watch wisdom.
Wow, thanks so much. I'm sorry for your wallet.
Enjoy your videos. The humor, combined with the knowledgeable content, is refreshing.
Idk how you do it but ur video quality, narration, and dad jokes have the ability to draw me into a whole video about a watch that i have 0 interest in a way that no other channel does. Well done sir
That’s so great to hear. Most people have been over my dad jokes since long before I was a dad.
While we're talking weird- Paying a premium for time keeping certification when time keeping accuracy is not valued is weird, and seemingly dumb as well.
I'm addicted to these videos. Hope to get them more frequently
Definitely good weird! I love the way the carbon case makes the dial and strap color pop even more. Nice video as always.
I agree. Thanks.
Ironically I am heading to WOS Soho tomorrow to "take a look" at this watch! Glad I found this video. Great content!
Man, Your the only watch youtuber who can get me to watch a video on a watch that i would never buy and can afford
Does anyone else see the similarities between Doxa’s dial hands and Hellboy arms? Just sayin’
Great video as usual! Witty and informative. I’m not a Doxa guy but I can appreciate the allure of the brand’s history and design queues.
Great videography for this Doxa! It's definitely a outside the norm for a dive watch.
This channel is so underrated. Nice!
I have this watch and enjoy it a lot. Great job on the review!
Nicely done.
How is the bezel action with the carbon fiber?
@@hambone988ubet very good
I tried this on and the smaller dial compared to the case makes it wear really nice. I loved it.
Is it me or are watches getting more interesting? Or maybe you just review the interesting one's. I don't dive but I'd like a dive watch and the U50 is painfully close to being my kind of dive watch. This Doxa could just tip me (and my wallet) over the edge. Maybe it's the color because the other colors just don't do it for me. Although some people consider Casio to be 'God Tier', I don't consider myself a Casio fan but I've just blown a monkey (not literally) on an IFLW G-Shock Jellyfish Rainbow. I think that sometimes it's the little things, like color choice, that make the difference. Stupendous vid.
The Sinn U50 is a super watch for sure!
I got U50 and it’s an amazing choice 👌
I like the colours in the Doxa here. Pretty cool 😎
Nobody dives ...
@@japd7897 Ain't that the truth and if they did I suspect they wouldn't wear a watch costing several thousand pounds.
This if 4 grand, and it's twice the cost of SS and it's made of the same stuff my window scraper is molded from, it's even in janitorial supplies!
I definitely appreciate the use of forged carbon, but yes I agree with you, it is not really necessary. I figure that it will get scratches, but they will be harder to see on this case.
Thx for detailing about forged carbon. If its resin too,I wouldnt be so sure about longlasting specs.Just look at wind turbines offshore, they should last for about 10 years, but after 2 theyre braking and goes to the see bottom because of winds and rains.Wind turbines are from glass fiber and resin.Carbon is also used but between the glass fibers layers.
Its a good weird 😊 The orange color is unique and not usual in watches. Great watch! 👏👌
Wow the colour really pop!
Doxa made some high quality non divers watches during the 1960s - 1970s. I still wear my Doxa mens auto date watch, which I bought over 50 years ago (probably an eta movement) which tics away reliably and accurately.
that color scheme really works.. especially with that unique pattern on the forged carbon case
GREAT. Now I want this too. But really, hilarious and great video!
I looked the series up, and now want the (Tiffany) Blue stainless steel option.
And yes, I'm weird. Friends say good weird though.
another excellent video my bro. Thanks for putting it out. I'm not a doxa fan but this give me pause.
Thanks so much.
Thanks for the review. Carbon looks cool and if the price is the same as for stell, I would have to think which one I prefer. But for the double the price is carbon direct no go.
Doxa is the odd duck where dents and divots give it desired character. My 20-yr-old 600t has natural patina & wear that shows very nicely. I’d believe the same with the carbon case.
Now if Doxa made a BOR of the same material, I’d definitely go for it.
Awesome video. You worry in 10 years the resin "mix" could break down and become sticky or something 🤔. I still want this watch 😁👍 Thanks for sharing!!
Early forged carbon AP Offshores had some pretty serious wear issues (people reported some kind of "flaking" of the material). Hope that won't be the case with this one.
Yeah I'm definitely skeptical of carbon fiber as a full case material. It's light and strong in terms of tensile strength for the weight, but not exactly know for standing up against abrasion over time. At least, not while still looking pretty, and seems hard to refinish.
@@defenestratedone pretty sure it's impossible to refinish, AP had to replace entire cases if my memory serves me right
Looks like much better bezel clarity on the carbon version, white against black instead of black against steel, and hopefully the paint on the numbers wont flake off like they do on the steel version. Very useful bezel if you can read it.
I really love the carbon fibre watches. How does this watch compare to the zenith defy classic carbon? I would love to see a comparison video .
Great review! Haven't heard of that one. The colors are amazing, but not sure how the carbon would fare long-term.
I love a very light watch, but feelin every dollar spent on your wrist has its merits 😄
This thing is a perfect pick for summer!
Never liked a video so quickly! I love Doxa, def getting one eventually
Awesome. Thanks.
Completely unrelated but can someone explain why the Aqua Terra is more expensive than the Seamaster 300?
Good question. I too would like to know...anyone???
My unconfirmed .02 - Most brands price their “dress” watches above the “tool” ones, whether precious metal or not. Only recently have stainless steel sports models been regarded so highly.
Either that or Omega made a mistake and never fixed it.
It has to do with the way Omega traditionally marketed and built the two models. The Aqua Terra is a much newer product (since 2002) and was treated as a more versatile and premium grade model vs the traditional sporty Seamaster 300 (since 1957). The Aqua Terra always had the more advanced in-house movement, with the chronometer-certified Co-Axial calibre 2500 in the first 150m, and upgraded to calibre 8500 in 2008. During this whole time the Seamaster 300 used other movements like heavily modified ETAs; in fact, the "300" was dropped from the Seamaster lineup for 4 decades since 1970s until it was revived for the Bond watch in late 1990s. The Seamaster 300 only became "Master Co-Axial" in 2014, and the model was inspired by the original one from 1957. So the Aqua Terra was always the new advanced one, and Seamaster 300, the o'skool heritage model.
Any updates on the durability of the case? Interested in picking one up but very curious if it can withstand the torturous rigors of my, well, not so adventurous daily life.
Wouldn't call it weird at all brah. It's quirky, but I really dig it. If I didn't already have a quirky mother of pearl U50 that kind of scratches the same itch, I would be considering a buy.
those u50 hands tho ...
@@ophirberrin1750 what about them?
Yea but should I sell my orange dial steel sub300 for one of these?! I've been sort of lusting after them since the yellow dial carbon SE came out a few years back. I just can't decide if it's worth the extra $. I need to go look at them in person.
Oooh, that’s very cool - the first automatic I’ve wanted for a long time.
Man that orange Doxa reminded me of the plastic Tag Heuers I used to wear surfing , until you mentioned the price lol.
Beautiful watch though 👍
I have an all-steel (head & bracelet) dive watch and it’s too heavy, as proper divers tend to be bulky and heavy. So a material that makes such a watch noticeably lighter is welcome. But I don’t know about forged carbon. As here it has to be reinforced apparently by a titanium sub-chassis, seemingly defeating the purpose. This watch is an interesting contrivance, but would of been better just entirely made of titanium. A much more suitable material for a diver…light weight and very strong too.
Is forged carbon different from the one used in Squale T-183 Carbon Case Diver? I think the Doxa looks better in the iconic orange.
Love the look of the forged carbon case. Not sure I would be willing to pay the increased amount for the COSC movement. Also, when will Doxa get rid of the off-white idicies on the Professional colorway (and a few others) and use the crisp white lume from the Aquamarine? As is, the dial just looks dirty.
I think that’s actually the orange dial color affecting the white lume. That’s why the hand lume is pure white.
@@YoureTerrific you may be right… Great review as always! 👍
Wow, that thing looks like the ultimate summer watch.
I just saw this video, so I know it’s two years old, but I have not read any of the comments. I just want to comment on some statements made in the video about dents, scratches, wear down and cracks which I think are flawed: No, it will not dent. It will probably scratch less than steel. Probably also wear down less than steel also. At least soft steel. It certainly will crack more easily than steel though (sharp impact).
Very cool summer watch. But if I was to only own one Doxa then I think stainless steel is the way to go.
I feel you.
The new one is pretty cool, the 600T in titanium and I think it lists at like $2k. Cool watch. I like this one, very cool watch and I'd get the orange too - with Doxa you kinda gotta get orange.
I hear you.
Great looking watch.
Weird is in the eye of the beholder. I like it!
Truly
Is the lume any good?
Average
@@YoureTerrific vid was great as always btw, thank you
Thanks
This watch is such a GOOD WEIRD! I've got such a thing for Doxa!! Very very cool piece. If only it wasn't so giant!
It actually wears very small given the case shape… the dial is small and the all important measurement of lug to lug distance (height of the case) is only 45mm. By comparison a Rolex 41mm submariner has lug to lug of round 50mm
Great content, this channel should grow very fast.
Lol 😂 You should have just gone the whole video saying that the case was licorice
I considered it!
I vote Good Weird. Great review. Thank you
Agreed. Thanks.
It's always the knife makers that start the material trend. User field test for durability on such things becomes the best measuring stick.
A rich man's Seiko Monster. Loud but cool.
Love that orange
I think it looks pretty cool 😎; I think I might like the aquamarine more. But your visuals really make the 🍊
👍
whelp this answers my question I thought the other day of why i'd never seen a carbon fiber watch while its used so much for knife handles
it looks great on that grey nato
ive got the doxa searambler.... its a beauty
Great video. For me it's good weird but would go with another color. Love the opening line. 🤣 Right to the point.
Is the buckle pvd or dlc coated ?
I thought just weird, but then when I saw it on your wrist, it is clearly good weird!
Right on.
This is such a cool watch! Wish it was a wee bit cheaper
In cycling Carbon vs Steel is a subject that has evolved over many years. Steel has won the historical, endurance & collectors argument. Carbon wins the performance battle buy at the cost of constantly having to change to the newer edition. Equipment integration has meant that working on or buying ancillary equipment is not possible; your'e in a rabbit hole. i think in the watch argument carbon will be seen as more dispensable therefore of a lessor value over time.
Watch is Gorgeous
Good weird. Time will tell how good. And I just really dig orange divers.
Good weird. I aspire to be.
How's the lume? A dive watch must have great lume
Average. Not great.
What’s your opinion on the zenith defy classic carbon on a strap versus this doxa carbon? Is zenith worth the extra 6-7k?
Zenith jumped into the Rolex pricing train, so it doesn’t worth that extra money.
Such a cool piece, as with pretty much all Doxa!
👍
Ok I officially like this channel more than watchfinder.
I am a big fan of Doxa, however I am not into carbon fiber time pieces. I do like licorice))) 😉
🤝
i love panerais carbotech, looks damast style
Your videos are stunning
Beautiful
I really love this thing. Wish it was 40mm though
It would be tiny at 40.
I for one love it. I only need nearly 4K to spare and burn on that..
This is killer. I love it!
Excellent made video
Thanks
This if 4 grand, and it's twice the cost of SS and it's made of the same stuff my window scraper is molded from, it's even in janitorial supplies!
Corrosive environments and harsh UV light, what could possibly harm that resin over extended periods of time?
Funky! I love it!
Anyone know the difference between the Sub 300 and the Sub 300T?
Sub 300 is a regular diver that is more retro inspired. 300T is hardcore diver aka Mr T.
Agreed nice watch. Have the orange/ carbon version and an aquamarine/ steel version. Very comfortable and seem to keep good time. Certainly a bit different to the typical submariner clones.
My only caveat is the OEM rubber strap. I didn’t find it comfortable and now have it on a tropic.
How was the case stood up to wear? Very interested in the sharkhunter but wondering if it will lose its crispness with regular wear. Thanks!
Licorice watch-yummy 😋!
😉
I love the stainless steel version.
I love an SS Doxa, but this is pretty bad ass.
Yeah
Epic watch!
👍
Did you review a liquorice watch and not tell us how it tastes?
They've gone mad. I like it.
👍
Just weird.
PS: slide every watch into the frame for your intro every time plz
I don’t have that kind of lube budget.
Because the color rarely matches with anything… it goes well with everything.
That’s how I think about it.
Is this a Doxa season for some reason? Doxa in greek is Glory/Fame but lately youngsters converted the old saying "Δοξα τω θεω, λεφτα εχομεν" (thank god, money we have) to the exact opposite "Δοξα τα λεφτα, θεο εχομεν" (thank money, god we have). Meaning that Doxa is back in glory (pun intended...) but so are dozens of cheap chinese copies.
One thing i don't see though is why......... for all of them...!!!!
PS Wonder how "good weird" is Alex too...
Not a big fan of "loud" colors on watches, but man that looks koo.
If there was a 38mm version of this, I would snap it up in a second
Now, if you had read a Wikipedia article ... and stayed in a Holiday Inn Express … THAT would have truly been thorough.
Looks cool, but the price caught me off guard.
Please bear in mind Doxa does not respect guarantee if the watch is not bought directly from AD. I bought the watch from AD trough the third party, meaning having official guarantee card and doxa refused to honor it. It is legally not correct but they did so. Why challenged about this they ghosted me. No other companies behave like that to my knowledge.
Love ur reviews bro, A very fresh approach on watches...and yes whats ur wrist size lol JK...
Orange dials in the last two videos, I see a pattern here.
